My experience is a 5 with the location not National. Had a charge for mileage which i have never seen before. Guy checking us in immediately got manager and he took care of it.

If I could give 0 stars I would, the Wichita airport location is horrible. I've been traveling to Wichita for work a lot more lately, i normally fly in late at night and I never have any issues. This time around I arrived in the morning and the male worker with long hair and glasses is horrible. I arrive to the counter and the place was empty I normally book through enterprise but national can also check you in, he obviously didn't want to work that day because he sends me over to the enterprise counter, I come back to ask him a question because the enterprise lady was taking her sweet ol' time and he goes "I guess I can check you in here" and then goes on to saying "I have a lot of reservations coming in at this hour that's why I sent you over" I look around I kid you not national was dead empty. Where the f were all these reservations he was talking about ?!!! Horrible customer service

New facility, but they didn't have elite members in mind. There is no emerald quck pick up line. Be aware. Don't expect to get in and go like normal sites. There's no signage outside to inform you that you've got to go in the building and wait in the normal line with minimal staff. Good luck. They've clearly missed the mark for loyal members.

We had a great experience with a National in Wichita. The check in experience was efficient and friendly. Prosper, a manager, went above and beyond and drove us to the terminal in our rental car so we wouldn't have to lug our suitcases nd children through the cold. Wow! We were so pleased. A+ for holiday travel with national in wichita.

This location may cost National my business. Not that they care. I was charged $370 for a missing key fob - and they can't provide proof that there were 2 on the key ring to begin with. Never mind that they never documented this when I turned the keys in with the car, or called me about it. They just helped themselves and used my Amex on file to charge me. Manager argued with me about it when I contacted them. Told me that the fobs can easily fall off the ring. What? My experience is the opposite of that. Usually they are cabled together and locked onto the keychain. They have pictures of the keychain after the car was returned - taken sometime during the 4 days between when the car was returned by me and the date they charged my card. He also told me they called me which is a lie. Honestly. I am going to just ignore that kind of call? No pictures of the keys were taken at the time the keys were given to me. To the best of my knowledge I didn't sign for 2 keys unless it's somewhere in the fine print. I have been trying to escalate with corporate and have been promised a call for a week now. Word to the wise at the location and maybe all locations - document and photograph the keys you are given when you pick up a car! I know I always will to cover myself going forward.

Worst National location I've ever used. As others have noted, this is not a corporate office so doesn't have Emerald Aisle, car upgrades for Executive or above. That's actually not a big deal. However, when they give you a car without a full tank of gas and a windshield wiper that is so bent it is scoring the windshield when operated, the only recourse is to drive back to the airport and wait in line to swap the vehicle out. The counter staff are not customer focused and really don't care what's going on. I have not seen that level of disregard for the customer from National, so it stands out. In my company National is the preferred provider, but for all future rentals (aprox. 70-80 days per year at intermediate) it will be something other than National when in ICT. I would suggest others steer clear of this location also.

The only thing worse than their total ineptness is their overall customer service. Want to quote page and verse out of the brainwashing handbook, but could not solve a customer service issue if their life depended on it. Executive Elite level customer, treated like I was a idiot and too stupid to understand being taken advantage of. Will not rent from National again in Wichita unless it is the last car on the entire lot in town.

I didn't that they had any desk check-ins in the country. Man was nice but have us to spend extra time checking out this way in some time. Nothing nice to actually drive. I see nice cars at Budget.

National car rental Actually scammed us into car damage we DID NOT EVEN DO. They don't check the cars regularly and charged $1200 for car damage when the damage was clearly there before we rented. Now we learned to take pictures of each car we rent before to avoid this. We had to deal with lawyers to handle this. It was so frustrating to our family vacation. SYAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY and be sure to take pictures before getting in your rental car to avoid any scam like national car did to us

I have a major problem with the manager at this location. I picked up a car at ICT and drove all around Kansas and was then supposed to drive back to ICT to see an account and then switch out the car for a one way rental to MCI. When my account cancelled in ICT I was in Hays, KS and called the office to ask if she could close out the rental and using the same car open up a new one way rental to MCI. She refused and said the most she could do is charge the one way rental for the entire trip. I told her NO and that I would drive from Hays to Wichita with the sole purpose of switching out the rental to then drive in a triangle to MCI. She was also very rude and acted as if I was inconveniencing her so I asked for her district manager and her name. Four hours later I arrived at ICT to switch out my car and at the counter told them manager's name of the ICT. They told me that person was an employee and had quit awhile back. They then told me the real manager's name. I then went to pay for the rental and found that my rental bill skyrocketed to over $700. Apparently the manager of the location went into the main computer and voided my company discount round-trip rental and replaced it with an exorbitant one way rental price. The employee printed out the changes for me which I took. He then called her and when she realized she was caught she changed it back. I then asked to speak to the district manager. I told him everything that happened. Instead of apologizing he said I was the person lying and that he knew the manager at this location a very long time and never heard anything like this before. He also demanded that I give the receipt where the manager made all the changes to my rental back. I of course refused. I have also rented a few times before from this location in the past. and all the employees expressed dissatisfaction with the store manager as well as said she and the district manager are very "cozy". Since the incident I have rented only once but have since switched to hertz at this location because both the store and the district manager are dishonest. As an Executive elite I have rented from so many location in the US and have never seen anything like this before, you can not even make this stuff up.
