We had a disastrous day at a "so-called" craft festival in Jeffersonville. So, we decided to salvage the day at LaCatrina. We sat outside on the patio, because we had our pup with us. Our server quickly came and took our drink orders. I went with a large margarita. My wife, disappointed when told there were no beers on draft, asked for a bottled beer. She was brought a Miller Light in an aluminum "bottle". We finally got a Corona Light in a glass bottle. We ordered a shareable order of nachos. The nachos were actually pretty good. But since they were shareable, one would think the server would know to bring extra plates. Nope. Maybe even extra napkins? Nope. My wife decided she also wanted a small salad. The server suggested the Cobb salad. She was able to make it a small at half price. But, a Cobb "salad" requires lettuce. There were a few shreds buried amongst the cheese, chips & chicken. Essentially, another order of nachos, with ranch dressing. We asked for some salsa and our server made a point of telling us there was no charge. Typically, LaCatrina charges $3 for chips & salsa. The menu is quite limited. La Catrina doesn't try to be a full service restaurant. Tacos. Burritos. Quesadilla. Tamales. No enchiladas. No fajitas. So, fair service. Easily solved with better training. And decent food, but nothing to really set La Catrina apart from the pack. Except maybe the gummy worm that came with my margarita.

I got Baja Quesadilla it was the best item I ate, but it wasn't a quesadilla. It was more of a taco and the lettice and tomato and jalapeño that accompanied it was so hot, I couldn't eat it. I also got the Quesa Birria Taco, it was fair, pretty hot, but I'd rather have it on a flour tortilla rather than a corn tortilla. I also tried the Los Cabos fish taco, it was extremely hot and a little fishy. I tried the chips and salsa, chips were stale, salsa was pretty hot, but needed to be sweeter. The margarita was great! I recommend going to Agave and Rye in place of La Catrina and try the Beria tacos, they are amazing.

The service was decent for the most part. The ambiance was nice but we chose to eat outside. The food was good, I was shocked that a Mexican restaurant didn't give free chips and salsa is my only complaint lol

Came here before an event at Big Four Lawn across the river in KY during odd lunch hours. We were seated immediately at the bar, next to the beautiful ofrenda they have set up. The service was very quick to bring us menus, waters, and ask what we wanted. I opted for the chicken burrito, the vegan taco, and chips and salsa. The burrito was FULL of delicious chicken and came with a really tasty cream sauce that was great for pouring. The chips and salsa were delicious. And the vegan taco also was great. All the flavors were amazing. It was also a friend's birthday, so they brought her out free churros. Tbh, the the best churros I've ever had. They were filled with a caramel-like sauce, so it wasn't dry. The pricing was also relatively affordable, but I'm used to Indianapolis prices, so might be a bit much for the area. I'm unsure. Would highly recommend.

My first visit to La Catrina in downtown Jeffersonville. The nachos shareable app was spectacular. We both ordered the fronterra cobb salad. They do it up right with more than fair quantities of avocado, egg, and grilled chicken. It's the best salad deal that I know of. The wife also ordered an Al Pastor burrito along with her Frontera Cobb. She loved it all.

A gorgeous night, and we were seated on the covered deck. This section of the city is alive with people walking, playing games at the Gameyard next door, and generally just enjoying a lovely spring night. I started with a sangria, which was delicious and very refreshing, and then we ordered the chips and salsa. I ordered three tacos as my entree and I chose: 1) Quesabirria (Mole-glazed brisket, queso asadero, salsa cruda, serrano pickled onion, queso fresco, cilantro). This was my least favorite, it was too heavy and greasy for my liking 2) Gobernador (Grilled shrimp, onion, poblano, queso asadero, roasted tomatillo crema, cilantro) 2nd best, if I got it next time I would ask for no cheese, it weighed down the flavors and didn't really add anything in my opinion 3) Los Cabos Fish (Cerveza-battered cod, red cabbage, chipotle aioli, pickled red onion, cilantro) My favorite and really nicely made.

The ambiance and atmosphere is great, everything else - not so much. I ordered the Diabla burrito, and the server was very serious and warned me that the salsa habanero was very spicy, which I agreed to. The burrito was on the smaller side and was 75% rice and less than 25% shrimp, and bland. It wasn't even slightly spicy, so much that I asked for hot sauce, and was never brought any. There were 4 at our table, and all had empty glasses for quite a long time and had to flag down the server to get refills and order additional food. There are many good restaurants in Jeffersonville, this is not one

Service was amazing, food even better! We walked across the Big Four Bridge and had the place to ourselves. Margaritas on point, tacos on point, TAMALES OUT OF THIS WORLD! I try the tamales at every place that has them on the menu. If you are looking for an authentic, delicious, and affordable restaurant go there!! I don't want to tell the public because I want this place all to myself but for real, the whole experience is was wonderful!

Everything about this place was amazing, the tacos were so good and not bad price. The environment was colorful and nice, the waitress was super friendly and helpful in making recommendations. Will definitely come back.

We went on a night when every other person in the area also wanted to go. We were seated promptly but they didn't have clean silverware so we were given plastic, nobody knew how to make skinny margarita and the server was pretty frustrated as it was her second day. I had a carnitas and a shrimp taco with rice and beans. All very good. Plenty of food. We sat in the patio which was nice. Will certainly return when in the area.
