This place only cares about your money for example, my mom went into heart failure, was placed on a ventilator & was on life support- 24 hours before my wedding. The refinery had no sympathy. Did not get money back nor asked for it back. Wanted to proceed with another wedding considering the first one fell through for obvious reasons- and they wanted me to basically pay for everything again. be aware!

Fresh from my wedding this weekend and could NOT have picked a better venue!! I was an out of state bride and never was able to see my venue or vendors until the week before the wedding and KYE'S staff took care of me and our wedding!!!! Thank you is not enough Herbie, Chris, Bonnie, Harold and above all Kye for having such high standards on your staffing :) I am thrilled. I will say the beginning of the planning phase, I was nervous because I saw some low ratings for Kye's; but now after my wedding has come and passed I am BAFFLED. I do NOT understand them. I was a nervous wreck thinking about all the details and hoping everything would go as planned like every bride seems to be -- but come the actual day of, I was cool, calm, and collected because Herbie instilled so much confidence in me he had it covered. So so happy I ignored the low ratings -- they are outliers. I did have to be a little patient when it came to communication between myself and the staff, but then again most of my communication was over email since I was out of state. But, all my questions were answered sure enough. When I came to see the venue for the first time, Kye personally walked me through the space to show me the layout. She introduced me to Herbie who I was working with for the majority of the time a month out before the wedding. During the rehearsal, Herbie brought such a calm over me -- because I was an exhausted and easily an emotional mess -- but he guided my questions and reminded me he had it all under control. Come Saturday, like I said, the details were so beautiful I could cry. The layout was exactly what I wanted. Bottom line: Kye's gave me my vision to the T. I am so proud of the way the wedding panned out -- and everyone gave me compliments. So I return the compliments back to Kye and her staff. THANK YOU!

Before Yelp...16 years ago, we had our wedding reception at Kye's 1. We were an older couple and planned more of a party than a traditional reception. We had an amazing event with great food, simple decorations and a superb area for the band and lots of dancing. They were excellent to work with and all bases were covered. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. We had a charity event for over 200, fifteen singers and a full band. Our scheduled venue suddenly could not host us due to building problems. All our tickets, posters, etc were now useless. My husband was able to find an opening at Kye's 2, the larger of the two rooms. I met with Kye, the owner, and felt an immediate connection. She was excited about the event and gave us help in pricing and in other ways. She not only stayed in touch, she attended the event with her family and stayed till the end! She was warm, smart and a real pro suggesting things I hadn't thought about previously. I always believed things happen for a reason. For us, the event could not have been more perfect. The room was spacious, the acoustics were excellent, the cash bar was easy, the ample parking pleased everyone. I never heard one negative comment the entire night. In fact, many people inquired about future bookings here. My Facebook went crazy! As a musician, I play many, many venues for different functions. When I read negative publicity about rules, what's included, etc. I take it in stride. Every venue has to have strict guidelines, else damages can be done by fire, heavy equipment, amateur sound techs, etc. In no way is Kye's different. Their pricing is fair and in line with other venues. However, they offer far more in the nice patio area which can be rented and the pretty fountains and glass which offer beautiful backgrounds for pictures. The ease of parking is a huge plus. I highly recommend Kye's for any function!

My husband and I were married here last July and would not recommend their services to anyone. We were very disappointed when it came to how we were treated on and after our special day. Kye's states on their website that "For the Bride and Groom, your most important day should be a time when you focus your attention on EACH OTHER, without concern that your arrangements will come off flawlessly." This is a completely false statement. The reason why I am writing this review 6 months after our wedding day is because we have been disputing a bill. We finally gave in and paid it because we did not want them to send it to collectors and didn't want to go as far as hiring an attorney over $500. The issue came down to the black curtain that we paid atleast $500 for to use as a backdrop during our ceremony. If you look on the website they have pictures of this black curtain, these are the same photographs Herbie advised me to look at when selling me on the curtain during our meeting prior to the wedding. I loved the curtain because I hated the idea of having windows, door, and an exit sign in our pictures. When we were spending our savings on making our day perfect, the pictures of our actual vows of us becoming one with the Lord were the most important part by all means. After returning from our honeymoon and receiving our photographs I realized that the curtain we paid good money for, was not raised at full height and the exit sign and tops of windows were sticking out. Shortly after we received an invoice for a half box of wine we added at the reception. I figured it would be no big deal to call Kye and ask for us to call it even between the curtain and box of wine. I did not feel like I should pay for something, that they told me its purpose would be to cover the distractions, when the distractions were still there. Kye went on to tell me it was my fault as a bride, and that the curtain was set up the same way during the rehearsal the night before the ceremony and I should have said something then. Kye told me that it was my both my fault and my responsibility to have noticed that the curtain was improperly set up. This is where I stress my first point of this review, they DO NOT ensure that "your most important day should be a time when you focus your attention on EACH OTHER, without concern that your arrangements will come off flawlessly." I mailed them pictures of both my ceremony photos and the ones on both their website and facebook page that they promoted the curtain. The curtain is clearly 2 feet shorter in all of my pictures. I don't expect everyone to think this is as big of a deal. But as someone who was in yearbook and photography, and has planned my day since a little girl. I was very upset when I had a big EXIT sign and windows stickout out of my ceremony set up. It looks tacky. And honestly I still could hae dealt with that. But I am writing this solely because of the way they spoke to me afterwards and were absolutely unwilling to listen or admit that it was their fault. When we spent that much money at a venue, we don't expect to be lied to. I want to make it clear that even though there is nothing I can do to change the fact that my actual ceremony pictures look tacky, I would not have written this review had they simply refunded us for the money spent on a curtain that did not serve its purpose they assured us that it would. I was so disappointed and felt disrespected in a sense with the way both Herbie and Kye handled the situation and spoke with me as a recent bride. They showed absolutely no concern, empathy, or compassion and all they did was demand we pay the remaining balance which was a fraction of what we had already paid in full. In the end, I just want to be clear this had nothing to do with money. And that the venue itself is beautiful and all their vendors were top notch. There are more details and I could go on. But Herbie and Kye both, unfortunately put a damper on first day of my husbands and I's life together, and I don't think any bride wants that.

I have never in my life seen or met a more unprofessional group of people in my life. The staff was overly rude and petty, they were so unorganized and unprofessional that they made guests and patrons uncomfortable. With the unbelievable prices they charge, the food is atrocious and they barely make enough to feed 2/3 of the people let alone all of them. Pathetic would be an understatement. I wouldn't recommend using this old/dated decor simply worn down place to my worst enemies let alone friends or family. Rest assured that I will spread the word repeatedly like wild fire to my 4,343 Facebook friends. I am disgusted and insulted and will NEVER return.

Be very, very careful when booking your special event with Kyes. KYES II is a beautiful location for sure. Our guests raved how pretty it was; the dance floor and lighting was pretty. We, however, had a lot of stress and 'misunderstandings' with the arrangments for the party there. The initial contract I signed included few details. Get those details up front, and I mean DETAILS. As in does "Price includes chairs, tables, linens and centerpieces" mean table cloths AND napkins? No, "linens" apprently does not include napkins, as we found out in the hour before our event. (The staff had no solution for not providing napkins with the "linens"; I guess I should be grateful that they pointed it out at all so that we had time to send someone to get paper ones, to go with our rented china and "provided" linen table cloths). We did not do a package with them and tried to arrange many things on our own, and near the event this caused some confusion and disagreement as to what had been previously discussed with the facilities manager and approved or not with the owner. They DID allow us to use a certain off-list caterer - that was the main reason we chose to use Kyes - but they have a preferred caterers list they will want you to use. They will want to approve every detail, every vendor, that you do not have them arrange, so get that all in writing in advance. They WILL charge you extra to use their installed screen and their projector. They WILL charge you extra to have flowers, centerpieces or cakes delivered before your alloted 2-hour setup time. Our assigned DJ got sick, and although they assigned another we were never told about it, and we had special music we wanted played and it made things more stressful. DO NOT WAIT to nail down all the details - do it before you sign the contract to avoid unpleasant disputes and changes near your event. I cannot say that I found the staff very helpful, they were officious at best, though Amber at the front desk and the servers they provided at our event were very nice and things ran smoothly in the end, after much stress. We have had events at other locations where the managers and others bent over backward to be pleasant, reassuring, and assist in every way possible, but I did not have that feeling here. I will never use the faciltiy again and cannot recommend it, despite its convenient location and beautiful architecture.

My (now) husband and I just got married at Kye's 1 this past Memorial Day weekend. I decided to review Kye's, and I was very disappointed to see so many negative reviews. Honestly, a lot of them boil down to misunderstandings about things. Whenever you are planning such a big event such as a wedding or corporate meeting, it is essential that details are discussed! Don't assume anything until you have discussed it fully (people can't read your mind) - and that applies with any of your vendors. And the great thing is that when something does come up, you can address it, rather than lament it afterwards! We are so happy to have chosen Kye's as the location for our ceremony and reception. Part of the reason we chose Kye's was because of the simple elegance. You could (and I know some people have) spend thousands of dollars on decor and flowers, etc., but the beauty of Kye's is that you don't have to do that. My husband and I wanted something that could remain beautiful, even without much added, and Kye's was (and is) just that. A++ on the venue! Onto the staff - whenever I had a question about something or needed something changed, I simply gave them a call or sent an email, and I always heard back from them in a timely manner. The staff was very professional, and they were prepared! That means so much when the big day arrives, and there's a million other things to make sure are in place. We weren't able to have the DJ at our rehearsal, but we sent emails back and forth with him and Kye's and had everything prepared so on the day of the wedding, things could go smoothly - and they did! We were plesantly surprised at how well the DJ was able to respond to the cues and make the necessary adjustments. No wedding, etc. will be perfect, because people are the ones who plan and execute them! We all experience the pressure that comes with workingo on such big events, but choosing Kye's will help to relieve a large portion of that! My advice: when planning your wedding/event, picture yourself going through each step and make sure you ASK when you have questions! Great communication, light-heartedness, and perspective will help you to host the best event at Kye's or wherever you choose!

Be very cautious when signing the contract. When my stepdaughter was married, they used the facility and were under the impression that there would be a refund if they overpaid on anything. Her parents were expecting a small refund as they were positive they did not go over on certain items. The original contract has very few details, it's very generic. Ask for details in writing. They had tried numeous times to contact them after the receiption, but calls were not returned. When my daughter got married a couple of years ago, the venue bent over backwards to be accomodating and helpful. Although Kyes is a beautiful facility, sadly, it was not about the bride and groom, I cannot say the same for this venue.
