It's been said that in spite of all the good experiences you may have had in the past with a particular restaurant, a single bad experience can irreparably ruin that restaurant for you. In my case, this particular Waffle House was a place I would visit regularly whenever I got off work early, for good reason. In those times, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the air felt clean and welcoming. Sadly, this was not the case this time; this particular visit may have permanently ruined those good times for me, and as a result, I no longer feel comfortable returning to this establishment. It was just past four in the morning on May 17, and I had just arrived at this Waffle House to escape from a light drizzle, expecting the usual friendly welcome from the staff. What I found instead were two workers who looked like they couldn't care less for their job (we'll get to one in particular later), as well as visible grime both in the kitchen and on the floors. Thankfully, I managed to find a clean booth to sit in, after which I gave the workers one of my usual orders: a Texas Bacon Patty Melt Plate with double hashbrowns and a Coke. When I'm usually in this location, I'm always polite as can be with the staff, as they very much deserve. This time, it was extremely hard to keep that politeness, especially with the cook on duty at the time. As I observed them preparing to make my order, I could feel my positive energy sink to the bottom of my stomach; it was clear that they did not care for their job at all, and it showed in their performance. At their station--the very same station they use to cook the food, mind you--they also had an open energy drink and a half-eaten donut from a nearby donut shop, creating a cross-contamination risk; thankfully, they were smart enough to change gloves each time they drank or ate said drink or donut, but the risk of cross-contamination still existed as long as that drink and donut still sat there, which they did. Things only got worse when my order arrived at my table, at which point a pit opened up in my soul. When I ordered my Texas Bacon Patty Melt Plate before, it usually came out mediocre at worst and heavenly at best, and my hashbrowns always came out nice and crispy. In the case of the hashbrowns--which were unfortunately single instead of double, as I had ordered--they still came out just as crispy as they did before, and the Coke was... well... Coke. But the sandwich itself... oh Lord, have mercy. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the single most unappetizing patty melt I've ever had in a Waffle House thus far. The sandwich was lukewarm, the cheese was hardly melted, the sourdough bread was soggy to the touch, and the patty was covered head to toe in grease. Really, this might have been the greasiest patty I've ever seen on a Waffle House sandwich. The onions in the sandwich didn't help with the taste, either (which was admittedly my fault, as I failed to mention that I didn't want onions), a taste that left my taste buds screaming for solace. Indeed, it was a struggle to even finish the sandwich, which, despite everything, I did. All the while, the staff maintained that same careless lack of energy throughout the night, up to the point where I paid the bill. This was one of those few times where I didn't leave a tip like I usually did; I firmly believe that a tip has to be earned through good food and good service, neither of which were displayed that night. It makes me thankful that I learned that the nearby McDonald's now opened its lobby at 5 a.m., when I usually leave work early. All in all, it's safe to say that this particular Waffle House is a location I will be avoiding from now on--or at least, until that particular cook hangs up their apron for good, and even then, I'll still be struggling to find a reason to come back.

This was my 4 visit at first I thought it was a coincidence But each time I ordered a simple eggs and toast and water. Every single time before I made it home I became violently sick throwing up they have had different workers each time . There got to be something wrong. I've talked to some other people. They said they was sick afterwards eating there , diarrhea and vomiting .

Came to visit family and needed home cooking with a public flare. This fit the bill! Saturday's noon crew was great to partake... Breakfast was better than expected and the crew were on task with enough southern gumption! Names? Sorry, too many to catch in the short time. And this morning, I had the fortunate opportunity to have the crew of 2 to myself.... Ryan was my 'take the money and run', they did not run but was great to chat. And my server/ short order chef and all around pleasant personality, made the best 'go back to CA' morning meal this E- Town returnee needed sans the grits, but good thing, 'no room at the inn' or belly in this situation. Thank you Mr. 'I failed to catch your name'! If anyone reads this... give them a go, your milage may vary but for me they excel at what they do!

I don't think we have a Waffle House in California, and Stephen has never been to one. We're staying in Louisville and noticed this one was just over the bridge in Indiana.. what a better way to visit another state AND also a WH? We needed an early start and thankfully WH's are open 24/7, and there was only 1 table occupied when we stepped in. The waitstaff was friendly (too friendly! LOL) and they chatted with us as we ate. We still cannot believe how inexpensive our breakfast was. $9 for a full breakfast, and its made fresh. Breakfast for 2 with coffee came to $25 with tip. You can't find this in California!

Just went in to get my breakfast for tomorrow. The menu looks different all the same items. I always order the 3 egg fiesta omelet with capped, smothered, chunked and scattered and covered. Same thing with my triple order of hashbrowns. 2 bowls of grits. All of this lasts me about 2-3 days. Its alot of food! Ot all. Omes up to about $23. I left a $5 tip for my waitress for my to-go order. She was very happy. Im working overtime the next couple of mornings, so this big meal will be perfect!

It's a Waffle House. Go in, grab a seat, and order all the food your heart desires. Food comes out quick, the staff here is super-friendly, and you can people watch everybody coming and going. We drove here on our last day in Louisville since it was right over the bridge and we're glad we did. All the breakfast foods Waffle House is known for were available and they were exactly what we needed prior to our flight home. My waffle was smaller than I remember but still delicious with peanut butter chips. The eggs were fresh and fluffy. The grits hit the spot. Oh yeah, I had the all-star breakfast because who knows when I'll be at a Waffle House again!

Ive been to this Waffle House a few times and it's been great today, I sat at the bar, and I just sat there for 10 minutes. I wasn't greeted, I wasn't asked if I had been helped, offered a menu, a coffee, anything. This visit went from annoyed to uncomfortable. So I just got up and left, I don't think I've ever had this happen to me at a restaurant, ever.

Do waitress is coughing a long with cook. Neither wearing a mask. Waitress is nice but keeps touching her face. The cook never changes her gloves as she swaps between cook and raw bacon, eggs and vegetables. Handles toast and waffles with same gloves. Coffee cup is older then me. Getting fresh coffee in Togo cup and going to avoid E Coli and Hepatitis today! Waitress was nice as I was leaving was concerned about me not eating or drinking she is definitely a 3 star customer service. We just got work on cross contamination and washing hands or swapping gloves. Yes I have worked in restaurant business and I understand how annoying this is but very necessary imo!

I promised a breakfast outing with someone I work with and she selected Waffle House, but then we were struck with the Covid-19 crisis. While they offered take out for short periods of time, due to circumstances, we needed to be able to dine in. Once this was allowed, we took the chance. Waffle House was clean and followed the social distancing rules. While things are different now, it was still a very pleasant breakfast. The menu hasn't changed from their typical. My client had a breakfast bowl, her staff person had all star breakfast with bacon and I had eggs, tomatoes, and toast. Everything was really good! We were in search of diner food and got it. THe service was excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly and professional. Prices were reasonable. You really can't go wrong with Waffle House. The one thing that has changed is the hours, check those out before visiting in our every changing community.
