Dizzy Whizz is between a 3-4 star, and because it's a longstanding tradition in Louisville, I have to round up. Plus I'm embarrassed to say this was my first visit and I have several items to order. We had an event nearby and time to kill so we slid into a parking spot and began checking out the menu online. You can order ahead online, eat inside or order curbside. We were greeted by a team member and she took care of us. Today's order was simple - a cheeseburger combo that came with fries and a drink. I upgraded to a pineapple shake. The burger is basic and traditionally includes mayo and lettuce. The fries are thick and would've benefited from more time in the fryer. The pineapple shake was thick vanilla ice cream with a few chunks of fruit. This was a perfect eat-in-the-car meal and hit the spot before our event. While it won't be a destination spot for me, I'll be asking to drive by more often when I'm in the area.

I hate giving a bad review, but the Dizzy Whizz is just not living up to its history. The service was just OK. The staff were yelling at each other and seemed frustrated. I waited about 15 mins for my food, and you can tell from the picture, the burger patty's didn't even cover the bun. The restaurant is old and seems dirty... and the neighborhood is not the greatest after dark. I'm sure this place was fantastic in 1947... but not so much in 2025.

We were heading out to the airport and wanted a burger! We stopped here because it had a buy one get one lunch deal! Great little burger joint. People were very sweet. We came in and sat at the counter. If I'd known they served breakfast I would have ordered that instead! Fresh eggs, hash browns and toast. When you're in the area stop here. Ollie's trolleys is too busy. They have milkshakes too!!

Used to have good things to say about this place. Definitely not anymore. Called tonight to place an order at 9:51pm. Website, Apple Maps and Yelp all say open until 11pm. I was met with a "we're closed" and a prompt slam of the phone. I called back to ask about the hours because clearly something isn't right. Someone else answered the phone and I asked what are your hours. He said "we're closed now". So I asked what are the hours and click! Hung up on again. Hope the owner knows how his awesome employees are conducting business. Will not be back!

Enjoy the special which is two sandwiches and two fries with medium soft drink for twelve dollars approximately. Served from the car and informed of specials. Clean on the inside and able to dine in or outside.

Small little local places like this are becoming exstinct. Dizzy Whiz has been around for quite some time, and I know why... Consistent quality and quantity. You can park and curb order, eat inside or order to go. You can even call in your order for pick up. You can watch most of your order being prepared, which I liked very much. Portions are adequate for the price. (except that side of gravy) Give this small diner a try if your downtown!

Dizzy Whizz food quality has went to shit just like all the other fast food places, y'all charge us more money for bad tasting food. Checking off yet another Louisville institution. I think, honestly, it might have earned an other star if I had done curbside service/call-in and carry out. As it was though, we were walking in the area on a Sunday early afternoon. Our original hope was to eat at Noble Funk but they weren't open yet, and turns out we had no inclination for any booze on that day, so Dizzy Whizz seemed like a good option for quick food, decent food, and a spot we could sit and eat in the middle of our walking. We pretty much got that. There is a small dine-in area. It leaves a lot to be desired ambiance-wise. But it seemed clean enough. More than half the tables didn't have salt shakers and our fries did end up needing the benefit of more seasoning. We each got a double bacon cheeseburger combo (which comes with fries and a drink). You are prompted to tip (like everywhere these days) but you order at the counter, pick up your own food from the window, and bus your own table. Which isn't to say don't tip at all....but I am not receiving any service upon which to tip... (I left a 20% tip because I was able to but then realized all the self-service you do). The food was perfectly acceptable. I have had better, and I have had worse, but this was all done well and quick and really hit the spot. Perfectly acceptable, but I would encourage carry out or curbside service.
