Well. Service was friendly and timely and the food came out super fast. I mean really really fast. I found it clever that the Mexican enchilada special harms one of each type of enchilada (beef, cheese, and chicken) that were red, white, and green: bringing to mind the Mexican flag. Anyway I did not particularly like the food. The tortillas were barely wrapped together around the fillings and the sauces were nothing special. The chips were served warm and plentiful but the salsas were simply not memorable. A pretty bland dish: but the place was clean with easy parking. I tried the fib: the Hersheys chocolate syrup (?) and whipped cream dominated and the pudding was a bit roughly finished. I was not hungry when I left.

Visited here during the Farm & Machinery show, so all the restaurants near the convention center were packed. This place clearly sees a lot of business and busy times, because even though we had to wait a few min, no one was panicked or stressed over the amount of patrons. Waiter was attentive, drinks stayed full. We had enchilada plates and the food was surprisingly very good.....being from Texas is hard to get good Tex-Mex in other places . Overall we will return here again if in Louisville. Note: This restaurant is under the same roof as the Black Olive Italian restaurant- you walk in one door and choose which side to eat at. Cool concept!

Absolutely not, avoid this Italian / Mexican restaurant at all costs. Their alcohol is watered down to the point they should be reported to the state Liquor Control. They call it lite alcohol. Food is also watery, lukewarm, salsa is nothing more than tomato juice, somebody's grandmother is rolling over in her grave at the mess they call salsa. To make it palatable put a few drops of the hot into the mild and maybe you can choke it down. This place is a joke of a Mexican restaurant. If you want crappy Mexican just go to Taco Bell.

Beautiful place. But the food is so bad. Absolutely no taste. I feel like I am eating dog food. The queso was runny and also had zero flavor. The salsa tastes like tomato paste. The service was ok. But forgot my limes that I ordered. Twice they forgot.

Went here and ate the food was good but got a bank notification stating they changed my price with 5$ extra then I signed for so someone in your staff added 5$ extra tip to my stuff . That is so unacceptable . Will never eat at a El nopal ever again no matter how good the food taste . Stealing is stealing . And at first they gave me my order wrong

We had a good chunk of time between tournament games for our sand volleyball league and opted to pay a visit to El Nopal. We were going to go to the Eastern Parkway location, but this one was closer. We maybe should have gone to the other one... The entrance is weird, shared with an Italian spot. You turn left when you enter and approach the unmarked host stand for the El Nopal. We had 7 people and it was mostly empty so we were easily seated immediately. While we had a good chunk of time, we were on a schedule and we generally assume a Mexican food meal like that at an El Nopal will move quickly. It...kinda did. It seemed there was only one server for the place, with a bartender and a food runner. And while he was doing fairly well, we had some issues with service. We got chips and salsa almost immediately. No waters. Then we waited and waited for a server to come and take orders, at least drinks. By the time he did come around, we knew the food we wanted to and had to order that at the same time. He wasn't prepared for that and it was a little chaotic. But we tried our best to be clear and be ready with what we wanted. Three people got margaritas and the rest of us just wanted waters or sodas. The first things to get delivered: the 3 margs and an abundance of straws. The second thing to get delivered: half the food, with mistakes but nothing bad enough to complain about or send back. They just asked for the ordered toppings to be delivered. Still no water or sodas. Next to be delivered: another quarter of the food. Mine was wrong, but I was hungry and it was fine. Still not water or soda. Next to be delivered: the rest of the food and soda. Still waiting on waters and the correct toppings on the side. Re-requested. Finally the waters and toppings were delivered to the table, and at the same time he clarified the check splitting and delivered those pretty much immediately. Like...ok. We'll get outta here quick, I guess. We all left full and eventually hydrated...but we all also felt like we maybe should have gone to the slightly further away location as people have experienced much better service here. This location is HUGE with space for large parties. That is the main upside, and its location. But given an opportunity to re-make our decision of where to go....we would go to an other location.

We came here sat down they took our drink order then nothing 30 minutes pass by still nothing. We couldn't get any one's attention (they weren't that busy) I grandson finally said "I'm hungry " so we left paid for the drinks. There was no apology. We will NEVER go back ever again

Sat at the bar since I was running Solo from the nearby Holiday (dumpy) Inn. Got a burrito that was good. Got a Fresh Margarita in a large glass. Asked for another with less ice and she put it in a smaller glass. Not quite sure if it was the same amount of fluid oz. Ask for the drinks to be put on a separate tab since it was a work write off. When I asked for the check, she gave me the price hand written on a "Guest Check". Nothing itemized. Wtf is this? Waitress/Bartender has now disappeared. Asked another employee in the vicinity and they got me an itemized tab. I wasn't thinking clearly at that moment ( 2 Margarita's later, I wonder why? Yep, I'm a lush!) But the menu said fresh Margaritas $8.99, but got charged $12.99 each. Oh well. Its a quick stumble back to the dumpy Holiday inn. Ask what the prices are for the drinks up front so no surprises!
