This is my third time coming to Elliment in downtown Louisville and each experience has been great! The customer service is phenomenal and the food is very good! This time I ordered the jerk shrimp which was so good along with the apple slaw and rice. For appetizer we had the codfish fritters. This is a gem in downtown Louisville!

Well first, can I tell you just how excited I was to have a Jamaica spot so close OK it's not that close but it's near my son's school. So since we were downtown, I took a chance and went in. I was greeted with a smile by our customer service rep there and we placed our order I got the chicken Caesar salad with jerk dressing. It was absolutely delicious. My son got the chicken sandwich. OK when I tell you that this young man can eat he ate his burger in less than 10 minutes looked around sat there looking satisfied and I said hey are you still hungry? He was trying to be nice and not ask for more food, but this man got another burger And again devoured it so that is how good they were and he didn't speak a word as he ate, the smile on his face said enough. I was curious about how long the store has been open and it's been about five months. The owner is a lovely woman who Hales from Jamaicawith a winning personality and already smile. I have to tell you her energy is through the roof and I felt so comfortable and easy speaking with her and not intimidated at all and I thank her for that. Her name is Miss Janice clark and her restaurant is a beautiful oasis that brings you Caribbean themes. They have events they're open for catering and honestly, you can't go wrong with this food. They even have curry chicken patties. I know most people are familiar with beef patties, but the curry chicken is so delicious. I urge everyone to go and try so on September 6 they're having an event Reggae rhythm and rum Punch if you wanna get your Jamaican dancing going, please go and visit you won't be sorry. They have a common area where you can play games another area where you can rest and relax and listen to music. This is definitely someplace I would go back to And the oxtails I got from my husband were delicious. So when you have an opportunity go down and see Miss Janice you won't be sorry.

Me my daughter and two of her coworkers decided to stop at this restaurant after the Louisville wine festival. As a fellow Jamaican I will say the food was authentic. I ordered the oxtails with white rice and it was very good. I also got the curry goat 4 beef patties and coco bread to go. The gentleman that served us was very nice. Here what I didn't like, when we came into the restaurant no one greeted us we just sat ourselves. The male waiter came over and took our order. As we waited for our food a white couple came in to eat. The owner of the restaurant came out to great and seat them. Shortly after that 4 other white customers came in as well (one of the gentleman asked us if the food was good and we said yes) and was quickly greeted again by the owner. Both parties were sitting at tables in front of us therefore, the owner has to pass our table to get to there table. My table and the other two tables are the only tables that needed service at the time. I sat and watched the owner make sure the other two table were greatly taken care of by constantly going back and forth to check on them. She even sat and held a conversation with both tables. Not one time did the owner come over and ask us if we were good or in need of anything. After several minutes I called the owner over and tried to initiate a conversation with her by asking her if she's the same owner that I saw on a particular news station. She gave me a look and corrected me by telling me correct name of the new station, she was on and proceeded to walked away. I was hoping that she would've taken the opportunity to ask us if we are good, are we enjoying the food or is there anything we needed? Instead she proceeded to just walk away, no engagement whatsoever. The reason that I'm writing this review is to let these business owners know that every person that comes into your establishment should be treated the same. We were a table of nurses and I am a financial advisor we did not come in loud or disruptive. The world today is ran by social media. That one customer that may come into your restaurant could have an essential amount of followers that could either make or break your restaurant. It is wise to treat all customers equally and not make a customer feel like they are less than when they come into your restaurant. And for that reason, I will not be going back. And I'm given 3 stars because of the food was good

This is a new restaurant owned by a warm, lovely Jamaican-born woman. We have been to Jamaica many times, and her food made us feel like we were home. It is authentic and delicious. We were fortunate that the restaurant was not too hectic, and she could take some time to tell us her story. I will say it is seems to be set up to be fast casual (order at the counter and seat yourself), but we were able to make reservations through Yelp, so we got a bit more personal attention. She is also trying to get a liquor license, but she has some fresh, tasty non-alcoholic drinks for now. We will definitely be back. Be patient and kind, and make reservations if you want a bit more personal attention. And here's hoping she gets a liquor license, because all of their fresh offerings would be delightful with a splash of Jamaican rum!

My family and I ate here after church, Sunday. My father is a VERY picky eater, but ordered the ox tails. He ate almost his entire meal. I ordered jerk chicken. My wife had the snapper, and my mother had a vegetarian meal. The food was excellent, and the cook/owner was very helpful. The waiter was new and still learning. But otherwise, it was an excellent dining experience.

Great food, great vibes and very friendly service. The flavors were spot on and felt and tasted like home. Janice and the team definitely brought some sunshine to Louisville.
