Heart of downtown, sharp design, stellar service Stayed at the Hotel Distil for a week for a conference. Enjoyable from start to finish. There is a valet pull-in to make traversing in and out a breeze. The lobby and bar are smaller, but smartly designed. Staff are very attentive, quick, and professional. And the rooms a both clean and fresh. I asked and the hotel is only a couple years old, which shows in its design and amenities. The gym isn't large, but well-appointed. The facade of the building next to it on Main is actually a front attached to the modern hotel structure. The Roxy and Zombie Tacos is also a part of the building, off 1st Street. Room service was quick and the food was good. And daily maid service was superb in freshening up things. Other things: Muhammed Ali Museum and Riverfront are within walking distance for a visit or run. Stadium is two blocks away. Louisville Slugger Museum and Bats game is blocks down. And so many bars and pubs... too many to count, if that's your thing.

This is a wonderful hotel in downtown Louisville. As part of the Marriott autograph collection, the rooms are very nice, and well kept. his staff are also very nice and helpful, and when you answer they give you a sincerely warm greeting. Also, they do not nickel and dime you here, as all the bottled waters are free. On top of that, they have a phenomenal steakhouse and bar on the bottom floor. The appetizers are superb, and the drinks are top notch! As if that wasn't enough, they are also within walking distance of many bourbon distillers. In fact, Old Forester is right next door! I mean, does it really get any better than that?!

This hotel is one of Marriott's Autograph hotels. It's on a busy corner in downtown Louisville. The person who checked us in was very pleasant and efficient. We had left our car to be parked by the valet service. Our luggage was brought to our room. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door and we received a bottle of Prosecco (along with two glasses) for our anniversary. There was also a nice hand written note in our room, also acknowledging our anniversary. We're staying here on points. My husband (ambassador/lifetime titanium elite) asked for an upgrade (never hurts to ask!) and supposedly received one. We believe the upgrade is just that we were put on a higher floor. We're literally a stones throw from the brick office building right across from the only window our room. When entering the room, you're in the bathroom area. There's a tiny closet immediately to the right and next to that is the bathroom sink. Across from the sink - open to the entry is the shower and toilet. Fortunately there is a door enclosing the toilet. The shower door and toilet door are at least not see through. Then there is a barn door that separates the bathroom area from the bed room. Everything is very compact. There are decent sized nightstands - but they don't have drawers. There are two available drawers in the bathroom area. We're here for five nights and we unpack everything. The closets are designed so you hang your clothes front to back instead of side to side - not very convenient. Also - the only ice machine is in on the second floor. We're on the 12th. Again - not convenient. It's nice, but my husband said it's definitely over priced for what it is. I don't know how many points we used. He travels quite frequently and would have a better idea than I would if it was worth the points we used. The valet guys are great - they're the friendliest staff we've encountered. The people at the front desk are nice, but don't seem to come across as overly friendly. The restaurant and bar seem to be pretty popular as they are packed every night. There is housekeeping every day which is nice as a lot of places don't offer it daily. I would say it's a nice place, but I'm just not really into it. I know we're here during a month that's very popular for the distilleries so maybe the points/prices are higher now. I would recommend staying here to someone, but I would tell them my feelings about it.

Hotel Distil is a hotel smack dab in the middle of a party street. Do you like to party? Then stay here. Are you a classy lassy looking to sleep before midnight so you can get up early? Then don't stay here. Outdoor concerts end at about 11pm. Lots of car revving and racing all night. Train horn and sirens at night. If you followed the bourbon trail you will pass out and miss the noise. Repeal is the on site restaurant that they serve brunch at (not breakfast) in the morning. It's okay. Free coffee in the lobby but not stocked without asking which is annoying. Valet texting worked even though they can only have 4 spaces at a time. I think it was $50 a night but they were on it. Decor was nice. The room layout didn't make sense and was tiny. We kept our luggage in the bathroom.

This is a really nice hotel. It is a high-end place. I would not stay here if it were not work related. The rooms are very clean. Maintained every day, which is rare today. There are plenty of plugs and USB ports throughout the room. Everything is up to date. At 7:33 PM they have a whiskey event to celebrate the repeal of prohibition in the lobby. This includes a bourbon drink for anyone who wants it. There are many bars and restaurant in the area. The riverfront is just down the hill.

This is our go to hotel when visiting Louisville. It's in a perfect spot to hit some great local restaurants (shoutout Sidebar and Dasha Barbour's). And there are several distilleries within walking distance. But the hotel itself is beautiful - great rooms, comfortable beds and great water pressure in the showers. They have a nightly toast to the end of prohibition (they pass out small old fashioneds to everyone at 7:33). The restaurant and bar in the hotel is excellent, the staff are all wonderful AND they are dog friendly. My dog sitter canceled last minute so I called to check on the possibility of bringing my dog. No problem (& no charge!). We have stayed here before and will continue to stay here when visiting Louisville.

Great location. Great service. Now I know what's up with nightly toast at 7:33 PM: The spot in which Repeal sits is where the family was operating when prohibition took everything away. Today, the restaurant honors the end of prohibition with its guests at 7:33 p.m. each night. "In military time, (that's) 1933 -- the year that prohibition (ended)," Saylor explained. The place feels brand new and everything about it worked well. Quiet rooms, good food at Repeal, easy check in, and online check out process that actually worked. The location is great too. Overall, a great option for staying in the downtown Louisville area.

Excellent stay and in a perfect location. Beautiful trendy boutique hotel in a walkable area. Public parking garage is caddy corner, quicker and $22 per day vs $50 valet. Repeal Steakhouse is delicious and located on main floor. Evening whisky toast each night, complimentary bottled water and coffee bar in the morning in the lobby is a nice touch. Gym was okay but minimal. Our room was nice and stylish and the bed was firm. A few weird quirks that won't keep me away but were odd - 2 closet rods are facing front to back in an armoire vs normal side to side, so you either have to take everything out to get one item if not in front or you knock everything off the hangers. Also had to remove all the stacked hanging clothes to get the ironing board at the back. This is a quick and easy fix with a drill, that they need to change. -also no towel bar in the bathroom. Towels are sitting folded on a stool. Which is fine until you use one. A strange large unusable decor shelf is located where a towel bar would typically be. - no bathroom door. There is a barn door to separate the bathroom and bed area but the main room door from the main hallway opens directly into the sink / shower. I'm sure other hotel guests or staff have gotten an eye full from time to time when the door opens and someone is getting ready. Again, wouldn't stop me from staying here but these are easy fixes that I would expect for the price.

The Hotel Distil foyer has the character to welcome, meet&greet guests to the Whiskey Row experience. The ambiance of Repeal Steakhouse cannot be ignored yet compliments the check-in process. The Valets are courteous, friendly and professional (They were actually enthusiastically engaging!) The corner suite was roomy and coordinated with the Whiskey Row experience. The BarnDoors were a little noisy, but being able to separate quarters and guests was quite accommodating. There were a few missing amenities, with the room & room service which could add .5 points to the rating, but staff was willing to accommodate even though it was not ordered at the time we placed our room service order. (I found it odd - no half pots of coffee either $3 or $15 and it was brought sans cream, sugars, salt & pepper) The room service operator staff were polite, patient and helpful with ordering & Yes, breakfast was worth the wait. The pork-belly thick bacon was "to die for!" The potatoes were well seasoned & a very generous portion. Similarly large portions of pork sausage, bacon, eggs. The buttered English muffins were tasty and served by a very engaging waiter/waitress. I wish we had stayed longer as there is so much to do

When I was working in Louisville in 2019, the Hotel Distil was about to open. On Thursday, my wife and I were able to stay there for the first time. It's a luxury property on Whiskey Row. Its attention to detail and beautiful interior reminds me of the Omni Hotel, also downtown. My Bonvoy status was recognized at check-in and I received vouchers for breakfast. Unfortunately, no room upgrade. Our guest room was super comfortable, starting with the amazing bed. Loved the shower and the water pressure. Lots of neutral colors and leather accents everywhere. And I'm happy to report, no motion sensor in the room turning off the air condition when you sleep at night. I'm writing a separate review on the hotel's restaurant, Repeal, but it was amazing. I had three meals there and each only got better. As I was enjoying dinner, I was near the main entrance and watched guests arriving and departing. There was a cool vibe and energy in that space. It almost reminded me of being in Las Vegas. Obviously tourists love Louisville and its bourbon scene, and they also love staying at the Hotel Distil.
