I was with a group that had two baseball fanatics and two non-sports girlies. And I am one of the non-sports girlies. However, the museum was still a really cool experience! While I was less interested in the bat replicas from famous players, I did think the production process was fascinating...from the specific forest and trees, down to how they paint the different products. There are tons of cool photo ops in the museum as well - and some cool exhibits about lesser known figures or teams.

It's been ages since my last trip; our son was small and now fully grown. So we had some friends in town and big Milwaukee Brewer fans so we code to visit. The guided tour was quite nice and our your guide was awesome. It's about 20 minutes guided and then you are allowed to roam to other areas including holding a major league players bat they have on loan and get picture at home plate. You also get to see a 90 mph pitch and how it appears to the batter. You can also sign up to go to a batters box to hit a ball ( believe it's up to 10 balls. We had a good time and we hadn't seen it all. It was well laid out and the business practices sustainability in there production of it's products.

Had a work function here which included a tour and visit of the museum. Having a tour from a guide who emotes love and knowledge of the history and manufacturing is contagious. I guess I never thought much about baseball bats, and well, the stories and production is awesome. Can hold, not swing!, several bats, see those of current players, get a souvenir, it's worth it. The guides have microphones, don't underestimate how much better the tour is as a result.

Batter up! [Louisville KY] We purchased tickets online and made an early reservation for a guided factory tour. Prior to entering the museum we took obligatory photos as everyone else did too in front of the seven story bat! FACTORY TOUR: During the tour we strolled through the actual factory where world-famous Louisville Slugger bats are created. The guided tour took us through the entire process, from selecting the wood to the final touches on the bat. Most of the bats are made on automatic lathes, it takes about 40 seconds to make a bat on the tracer lathes. All of the Major League bats are made on a special CNC lathe, the only one of its kind in the world. The burn-branding station is one of several stops on the factory tour (the famous oval trademark, bat model number, and the player's autograph). At the end of our tour we were able to take home an 18-inch mini wood bat. MUSEUM: We watched a 13-minute film, "Heart of the Game," relives some of the greatest hits in baseball. I crawled inside a 17-ton baseball glove constructed out of 450-million-year-old Kentucky limestone. One cool feature was the "Hold a Piece of History" exhibit at the bat vault. Visitors can handle bats used by legendary players like Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, and Derek Jeter. The museum store is also loaded with lots of sporty merchandise for every budget and where hubby got me my personalized pink bat. This museum exceeded my expectations! I was just looking to learn more about the sport but recently after visiting the Wrigley Field in Chicago and the American Family Field in Milwaukee I became a baseball fan. LoL! We left the museum and tour having witnessed a part of true Americana which was cool and enjoyed very much. Review #3900

"How can you not be romantic about baseball?" I was in Louisville for a very short trip and this place was among the top of my list of things I wanted to do if I ever made a visit. Well, certainly glad I made it and I wasn't disappointed at all. I would say it's a must visit for any baseball fan when you're in town. The smell of the wood, the imagery, learning of the process, getting to touch some of the wood (billets and bats) in production that will end up in some of your favorite players' hands...the lifelong baseball fan in me was geeking out. Without going into too much detail (it's always fun to have some sort of sense of discovery when doing tours/museum visits). Here are some main points: - Tickets for a 'Major Leaguer' (ages 13-59) is $24 - 9/2025 -It is a factory. So you see folks doing their everyday job. Just be mindful and stay within the yellow lines drawn out for you. - Tours run kind of constantly so it's flexible on your schedule. I walked in and was able to join a tour within 15 mins. - There's a museum area and the shop is free to roam and check out. Only the tour costs money.

A few pros and cons. First, would be great if it's more clear you only have a few mins to rush thru exhibits before the factory tour begins. I feel like there's a lot I might have missed other than seeing Babe Ruth's broken bat. The tour was interesting, seeing a lightsaber bat and holding one was pretty cool. Super informative to know what once took a half hour now takes under a minute to make a bat. The reason I am beyond annoyed is I was going to buy a bat after my tour. It's not clear which bats can and cannot be personalized. I picked out a wrong bat. So I picked a different one that could then be personalized. Then was told I couldn't get it personalized with what I wanted it personalized with. Then went back and forth for another 10 mins. They missed out on a $300 bat with personalization purchase because the person working the register had no clue what they were doing and I finally gave up.

What a fun afternoon! Tickets are reasonable and you get a tour of the factory! The smell of wood when you walk in... ahhh. It was fun to see each stage of bat-making. The different woods, methods to shave, paint and logo... all so interesting! You even get a free mini bat after your tour! You can also hold a bat from a legend. My husband chose Derek Jeter, and I chose Johnny Bench! There is the Bat Vault. Here they keep the original "templates" if you will... so if Johnny Bench needed a new bat, they have the original to make a new one. You get the idea? Be sure to watch the films offered in the theater. Some great history there too about the big bat outside the museum.

This was such a fun tourist activity! We were in Louisville for a couple of days and wanted to pack in some tourist stops. Hubs and I are huge sports fans so I planned for us to go on a tour of the museum and factory. Elijah was our tour guide and was great! Elijah took us step by step of the bat making process, as well as providing an abundance of history. It was also a very lengthy tour so there was a lot to see and learn. After the tour of the factory, you can browse the museum on your own. There is also a huge gift store. My favorite part was you can create your own custom bat! Hell yeah! Since we were there towards the end of the day, I was informed my bat would not be ready until the following day. At least I was told that prior to starting the process. Luckily we were leaving the following day so I figured I would pick it up on our way out of town. You fill out a form with all the specifications you want. Color of the bat, materials, what you want to write, the font, and color of the font! I went the following day to pick up my bat and it was perfect! I have it still in its original box because we are doing renovations at home but as soon as we are done, I am displaying my bat!
