This review is for the Payne-Koehler location accessed via Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, near I-265, exit 4. We made a reservation for a vehicle via their website, received a confirmation email and reservation number, and an employee also called to follow up and confirm. She also requested that we arrive at 5:30 rather than 5 PM to allow a better choice of vehicle, saying they were checking them in. The business closes at 6 PM. We inquired as to a courtesy pickup within less than a mile, which we have done several times in the past, and were told they would be too busy since it was within 2 hours of closing time. We therefore arranged for our own transportation to the business, arrived at the reservation time to pick up the car, and received a phone call from another employee as we entered the lot, stating no vehicle was available. When questioned as to why the first employee did not share this info, he apologized profusely, offered no explanation, and stated they MIGHT be able to arrange for an alternate vehicle the NEXT DAY. This did not resolve our issue. Unprofessional, dishonest, and unacceptable. This location not recommended. EDIT TO ADD: Business rep responds to reviews with a request to contact to provide further info. I attempted to do so, but Chat option closed at 5 PM. I'll make an attempt tomorrow if I have time and will update my review then to share if any attempts at resolution to the original issue.

Enterprise came to my rescue! While towing my RV in Louisville my "check engine" light came on. So I wanted to rent a truck but it was Christmas Eve! This Enterprise Rent-A-Truck was still open and I made it here just before they closed early for the holiday. They also went above and beyond duty when my ball hitch would not fit correctly and they had an old spare that I could use. This location has a lot of trucks to rent. It's located where Sam's restaurant burned down years ago. Besides having a very large parking lot, they have four big garage bays in the building for servicing trucks of different sizes. I rented a diesel F250 four wheel drive pickup truck that pulled my camper with no issues. They also rent cars. Josh helped me get all hooked up and made sure I was ready to hit the road before he went home for the day on Christmas Eve. I very much appreciated the extra help he gave me when I was stressed out over having engine issues and running behind schedule.

I did not run into a single person that didn't have a positive attitude and wanted to be helpful. They didn't have a large SUV when my car went in for repairs, so I decided to move forward with an intermediate size. I had called up there a few days later to see if I could switch it out since insurance was agreeing to pay for a large SUV and they swapped it out for me. And the car I was put in was SO NICE. I was honestly disappointed to get my own car back. Every single person I dealt with was so nice and remembered me when I walked in! 100% recommend.

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. Made a reservation online 3 days in advance for a certain kind of car since my husband had to make a road trip for work. Got the confirmation and no issues. He had to leave at 9am and at 8:30 I get a call asking if we were 'flexible' because the car we were promised wasnt there, they didnt even have the CLASS of car we wanted. My husband shows us, has a much lesser, smaller car and was told if he could wait 'a while' they could get what we wanted. Why do we have to wait when he is on a schedule AND I MADE A RESERVATION!!!! AND on top of all of that he was charged a $300 deposit that we have never been charged before. I was excited there was a location so close to us but I will never go back. The location in the Highlands always took care of our needs with no surprises but this location is awful. Now my husband is on a road trip in a less than safe car and we have no recourse. AVOID at all costs

I called and was given a bill to close out my account. I paid and thought it we were good. I had that charge sent back several days later as a refund and was charged 5 times this amount without explanation. I understand if there is a balance due- that is why I called and spoke to an employee and paid for it. Then I get a charge at 12:24am this morning for an amount with no explanation, no call or email, or even a phone call that there was an error in billing. I paid the final( what I thought was final) from an account that I rarely use and now there is a large charge that was deducted without acknowledgment. Very unhappy with this experience. I am updating my review. The have a very good customer service person named Rose who went all out to resolve the problem. It still took a couple of weeks for the bank and credit card companies to sort it out. But my thanks are to this girl. She deserves a ten Star rating.

Shockingly un-Enterprise-like. I always rent through Enterprise because they usually mean it when they say, "we'll make it right." And typically any employee can make it right. But I'm renting a car and will be arriving after they close on December 23. I called to confirm they have a drop box to return the car/keys. When I called, I was told if I drop off after they close, I'd be charged for the full day of the 23rd AND the 24th AND the 25th. When I asked for clarification, I was told I'd have to contact the place I rented from to make it right. I asked why this would be and the person on the phone suggested I return it to the airport. When I pointed out this is far away and inconvenient, she repeated I'd be charged and then hung up on me! WTF. Now I'm stuck trying to figure out what to do and how to prevent $400 in extra unfair charges. Blech.

3.5 stars, rounded up. I needed an rental recently and chose Enterprise. I chose them because they were close and offered pick-up service. I needed the car on a Friday morning and the pick-up service helped me out a lot and saved me an Uber or bothering a friend/relative. The staff here is nice. From the counter help to the drivers that picked me up and took me home, they were all friendly, helpful, and efficient. This location is conveniently located by Wendy's on Charlestown Road now, in the spot formerly occupied by Sam's restaurant, before it burned down. My only complaint was with the car I rented. It could've been a tad bit cleaner and it didn't have any windshield wiper fluid. It also did some weird things with the radio a few times. I wouldn't rent that particular make/model again. However, I would use this company again, but next time, I will make sure that the car is to my liking before I depart. A mostly positive experience. I rounded up for the helpful staff.

This was my first time here,because my car is in the shop for repair. The customer service is HORRIBLE. The Indian lady didnt have good customer service. Then, when I got in the car, it had a smoky smell! I asked if they had one with no smoke, they said all their cars are nonsmoking, so I just left. Poor customer service. Tips to save to you money. Before you pay for Enterprises' insurance, make sure and see if your insurance covers you. I used to work in a body shop in San Diego, and I had great customer service skills, these people who helped me out weren't so great, especially the Indian lady.
