I absolutely love me some fried chicken! I especially love trying places that are not your run-of-the-mill like KFC or Popeyes and that's where Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken comes in. I'd never heard of this place or company until living in Southern Indiana and this place, at least for me, has never once met me down. First off the menu is a rather simple one, which is absolutely fine because for a place such as this you really don't need a real extravagant menu so simple is great here. My go to is their breast strips which is what I went with on this particular trip. The 3 pc dinner comes with two sides and a biscuit. Everything tasted great and the service was very prompt. The only complaint I have here is that almost every table here was dirty and not at all cleaned so just keep that in mind when you stop by here. Outside of that the food tasted quite good and the BBQ sauce was very tasty. If you're looking for your quick fried chicken fix, Lee's is it!

Several months back, I stopped at a Lee's on Brownsboro/Zorn and was blown away by their hot, crispy chicken and wedges. I remember great seasoning. I remember good heat. So, as I passed the New Albany Lee's, I was expecting more of the same. Not even close. The fries were limp. I've had pasta more firm. The chicken, was more like KFC original than crispy Lee's. And the soft drink served with the meal was smaller than a solo cup and filled with ice. Did I mention the burned biscuit? For $13 I expected something better.

I love Lee's and generally their food is pretty decent, but in all the years I've been coming here I come less and less. For the last year+ I have sat in the drive thru for at least 30 minutes every time. It's usually much closer to 45 minutes, and has been as long as an hour. I don't like Popeyes or KFC as much, but at least I don't have to sit there waiting nearly as long. And it isn't just at peak times this happens. It's any time of day I've come here. I now only come here every 5-6 months when I am craving it badly and have an hour to kill waiting for my food. It's such a disappointment because I would love to get it more often, but who has that much time to kill for a drive thru? And there have been times they tell you to pull forward and then seem to forget you ever ordered food until you go inside and ask for it.

The best place to get fried livers/gizzards. Delicious flavor and the gizzards aren't tough or chewy. The potato wedges are good too, and they heat up well.

This location loves to push it's religious beliefs upon all who enter with overhead religious music, instead of being a welcoming neutral business. "Thou shalt not have salt nor pepper upon thy tables" is I suppose one of their commandments, as you won't find any. Not even near/on the beverage/napkin/convenience counter. "Thou shalt not have any Devil's spit (hot sauce) either!" Blasphemy! Food is good tho, chicken still room temp (hello health department??) Perhaps they ought to rename their location? Lee's Famous Holy Chicken! Kinda catchy, eh? Surely salt and pepper and hot sauce shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of other chicken restaurants Forever. Amen! Support education folks. Update 1 hour later: Guess who got the squirts! Obvious sign workers don't wash hands before returning to work. Never. Coming. Back. Ever.

I knew I should have gone to Popeyes. I've been eating here for years, and for years I've been disappointed in the quality of the food. It's 11 am, I ordered the 3 wing combo. These wings are so dry and tiny, I'm convinced it's food from the prior day. I think the only thing folks eat here are the Livers. The chicken is awful.

My girlfriend and I came to this Lee's location and found a broken off finger nail in the box with the food. They gave us a refund, but this is still unacceptable. In order for a bare finger nail to be in the box, that means that the workers has to have handled the food without gloves.
