Absolutely outstanding food in a quiet, relaxed vibe. This has quickly become our favorite seafood spot. Happy hour has great deals. We go for the $2 oysters. You have to try their take on calamari. It's outstanding. And if you like a great cocktail, their signature drink, the Country Grammer,is delicious.

Super cute place. We had the crab cake and hush puppies for an app. Crab cakes were just okay, but the hush puppies were very good. For dinner, I had the lobster roll. I'm picky about them since I've spent time in the Northeast and I can a vouch that they were delicious. My mom got the lobster ravioli and that was a showstopper. Service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back!

This was a hard decision to make because I was soooooo 50/50 on this one. I came here with a larger group for a birthday, a group of about seven or eight people. We were greeted and sat fairly quickly because we had a reservation, and the place was pretty crowded! I think it would have been hard for even two people to have walked in and gotten a table without a reservation. We started off with the Chef's Last Meal which consisted of 1/2 dozen East Coast oysters, 1/2 dozen West coast oysters, 1 lb peel and eat shrimp, ceviche of the day, tuna tartare, smoked fish dip, and house crackers. It was a literal feast. I didn't even get a chance to get a photo of everything before people started digging in. The oysters and shrimp... YUM. Tuna tartare... YUM. I honestly can't even remember what the ceviche of the day was so I don't think it was very memorable, and if you like smoked fish (I do not... not even smoked salmon) you would probably like the smoked fish dip but it was not to my liking. So that was all dandy. We also ordered the calamari and when it came we were confused as to which appetizer it was because they looked like thick mozzarella sticks or frozen fish sticks. They were very chewy (and I know calamari can sometimes have a slight chewiness but this was getting to the rubbery stage) and just the oddest calamari I've ever had. Every single person tried it and everyone hated it. We let our server know, and he took the plate of half bitten calamari sticks. Moving past that hiccup, our drinks were really tasty and made well. For the first time I had an espresso martini made with bourbon?!?!? I know it sounds very weird and questionable but it was delicious. Oooo and we had a vodka oyster shooter which was also delicious. I had the lump crab bucatini for my dinner, which I was a little let down by. I was hoping for more crab in it. I maybe found 3 or 4 pieces in the whole thing. After all of that, I probably still would have given a 4 or 5 star but our server unfortunately was just not on top of his game that night. We waited quite a long time for a lot of things and had to get his attention a few times. And we are the type of people that will just talk and talk and talk and won't even notice the server hasn't been by so you know it's been a while when we realize we haven't gotten the drinks we ordered. Maybe it was just a bad night for him. We were also disappointed that the rubbery calamari sticks were still included on our final bill. We didn't make a fuss about it, but it would have been nice if that had been taken off since nobody liked it and it was taken from the table. All in all, I will still go back a second time to try some other things!!!

This restaurant is absolutely an amazing culinary experience. The ambiance is superb and the customer service is phenomenal. This restaurant is a hidden gem in New Albany. I highly recommend the crab roll sandwich and the oysters are a must try.I promise you will not be disappointed if you are a seafood lover and a Outkast fan.

I'm ecstatic I discovered this new happy hour spot. I've been searching for an oyster happy hour spot and $1.50 oysters makes this one a must! The oysters were perfectly shucked, not much shell fragments or unpleasant gritty taste. We also had: fish sandwich, she-crab soup, hush puppies, and oyster Rockefeller. The fish sandwich was very large, I wish it came with fries (but again this is the happy hour so understandable). The she crab was decent, wish it had more crab meat. The hush puppies were less of a doughy consistency, very crispy. I did not care for the oyster Rockefeller but I'm a raw oysters fan and will always think it's superior to any other method of preparation for oysters.

Outcast Fish & Oyster Bar @outcast_oyster We arrived for an early dinner at 4:50 (happy hour 4-6) to a welcoming staff. We ordered three appetizers, two sandwiches and two shareables. The halibut civiche appetizer consisted of halibut, black tobiko caviar, avocado, white onion, cilantro and tostada. It was light and fresh but too heavy on the avocado. We expected more a fish taste and texture. After wearing out Central and South American ceviche, this was disappointing, albeit admittedly different styles. If you're looking for ceviche with a lime bite, this isn't the one for you. The Chesapeake Oysters (larger oyster plate) appetizer was superb! We ordered 10 (happy hour!) and very much enjoyed them. We loved adding horseradish and mignonette sauce (red wine vinegar with shallots) onto the oyster and slurping them down. The horseradish burns deeper and lasts longer than you think it will, but not so long you can't stand it. It's a 'hurt so good' kind of burn! The Oysters Rockefeller (baked oysters in rich cream sauce and bread crumbs) appetizer was phenomenal in taste. I licked the shell. Our only complaint was they were a bit on the small side but for happy hour prices we aren't complaining. Our main meals, two battered fish sandwiches, were a substantial amount of fish. The batter has a slight LJS texture without a signature batter flavor. The accompanying tartar sauce seemed made in-house and was good, but nothing spectacular like we hoped. Some unique tarter would've taken these sandwiches from a 7 to a 9 or 10. Potato Wedges and Roasted Brussels Sprouts for the table were our shareables. We liked the sprouts but don't think the wedges deserve a place on the menu. They take an otherwise elevated experience down a notch. Most importantly, we loved the decor, vibe as people rolled in and the excellent, knowledgeable and kind service from all the staff.

Service is still excellent. Restaurant is clean and bright. The items I tried today were not the greatest. I still think there's a lot of potential though. Gemelli pasta They give a lot of fresh crab and the little bits of guanciale were really good. There was just something missing in the flavor profile for me but it was still decent 3/5 Fish tacos I would rate it 2/5. The corn tortilla fell apart because of the wet fish. It would have been better if the fish was battered instead of grilled. And maybe if paired with a creamy sauce instead. Panko crusted calamari 3/5 Good portion size and the sweet and tangy sauce was really good.

Rotating fresh oysters and champagne flights? A total vibe. This is my favorite place to go for dinner or happy hour. The service is great, and the cocktail program is phenomenal. 11/10.

Fresh Chesapeake oysters on the half shell and oysters Rockefeller that are tasty and delicious, add their fish and fries and you have a delectable feast that is outstanding and better than River House or any other restaurant. A real plus is their specials, and their Saturday Happy Hour extension. In short, food was excellent, service great and pricing affordable. See you next Saturday. Jim Marquart
