Yes, oh yes, Dark 30, yes! A dark bar after my dark little heart. How could I resist stopping in when doing a search for cocktails in the area? Impossible. Let's start with ambiance. It's what will lure you in, with a small sidewalk patio that's perfectly inviting (perhaps less so on a 90 degree night) and then you walk in and hit dark nirvana with black walls, stunning patterned accent walls and amber fixtures and lighting. An enormous, really cool chandelier hangs from the very high ceiling. I could probably stay here forever (and I haven't even gotten to the drinks yet). The bartender was really nice, offered us wifi right away so we could use the QR code. I knew I wanted a sparkling rose and she recommended one for me. Then, because my husband asked about mezcal, she made him a cocktail that she's testing out for the menu. On the sweeter side, but delicious and beautifully concocted (I felt fancy as I drank it). Wall art! Oh yes, it's beautiful, too. I particularly admired two huge framed portraits of black cats dressed in finery. Seating is at the large bar or at a number of small cocktail tables lining the wall. What a surprise lurking in sleepy Downtown Baton Rouge. While it's been a while since I've been here, it's in a league of its own in an area that you'll be more likely to find sports bars.

Vibe | flexible | service Vibe - This is a great spot to start your night, end your night, or set a vibe with a date. Monica and I went after an LSU game and it was the perfect spot to catch up with friends and have deep talks. They play smooth R and B and chill hop hop. So you get a chill vibe to the space. Flexible - Monica and I are doing 75 hard therefore are not consuming alcohol. While their online menu didn't have any non-alcoholic options their paper menu did. Additionally, they offered to make all the their cocktails "mock tails" with zero proof version of the alcohol. Service - I had the "555" mock-tail. It was delicious and highly recommend for those drinking/living clean. The staff was easy and approachable making the experience welcoming. Pro tip: no parking. So give yourself some time to find parking. There is a lot around the corner but you have to lag for it.

Stopped in after live after five for a drink. Ran into some old college friends I hadn't seen in many years. We sat out on the patio and ran into some others we knew from a local band. We enjoyed one cocktail then walked over to tsunami for the live DJ. Service was okay. We ordered three drinks and he made two then started taking more orders. When we finally got his attention he immediately realized / remembered what had happened and took care of it right away.

We absolutely loved the ambiance and vibes. The art on the walls was excellent. I couldn't get my phone to scan the menu so I didn't have one of their drinks but we will definitely be back.

When I was there it was good for a while, but the bartender Chelsea I think made me very comfortable. As a queer woman, she did a lot of heinous things like spreading nasty comments about me and I'm just a patron. This is not a safe space for Black queer folks and I will not be back.

One of the newest bars in downtown Baton Rouge, Dark 30 does well with multiple aspects. Located across the street from Happy's it offers a mellow vibe with a great playlist. The drinks are also very delicious and reasonably priced. I ordered the 555 which is a Tequila based drink. The drink was refreshing with the right amount of all of its ingredients. The staff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely visit this bar in the near future.

Finally a laid back cool bar!!! No entry fee, the bartenders can actually mix drinks and are friendly. Service industry workers (let them know when you arrive) you get 15% off your tab Mondays you get 30% off if your a service worker Prices are fair Kara the co-owner created the menu and she is actively there everyday! She was dope as hell to speak with & loves creating drinks. Aaron the co owner is a sommelier! His knowledge & passion about wine clearly shows in the selection The drink names are based on angel numbers. I highly recommend trying the shots and try the wine! Y'all the whole place is so sexy! The music is mellow think Corrine Bailey, goapple. Best of all it's black owned and intimate. Girls night, date or just want to meet other people this is the spot!!! The official opening is today June 3!!! Make sure y'all support.

Vibes were great but service was horrible. Felt like we were being ignored because it took over 25 minutes at the bar to be acknowledged to get a drink. Once we ordered took approx 10 min before decided to leave. We only order a 333 and a 444. We never received either drink. Would like to try the place again once the place gets their feet under them.
