Tasty! We had the #1 combo (tenders) with kale slaw and the #2 combo with fries. One was "mild spice" (one up from the bottom) and one was "hot" (about in the middle). Tip: "hot" is plenty unless you're just into spice for spice's sake. The only thing preventing five stars is the wait times (both to get in and to get your food after ordering), but hopefully that will settle down in the near future.

The disappointment! I have been waiting months maybe even years to finally try Dave's Hot Chicken. Finally we get one here in Baton Rouge. I waited until the hype dropped a bit but decided to visit on Labor Day. The restaurants decor and art on the inside is awesome they did a great job. I arrived at the restaurant and they were pretty packed. There weren't clear instructions on where the line started so I ended up waiting in the pick up line for a bit unfortunately. So if they could put up signs that would be helpful. I got to the counter and it was pretty easy to order the menu is simple. Waited almost 45 minutes to get my order. At least my food was hot upon receiving. I ordered the #3 which I think was the tender and slider with fries and I also ordered a side of Mac n cheese. I got the tender in the flavor mild and the slider in medium. Both flavors weren't hot at all. To the point I almost think they put the wrong spice level. No spice what so ever. Both the tender and slider had no seasoning to the tender itself at all. Only chili power and paprika. Not even a speck of salt. Very flavorless and disappointing. The mac n cheese was also quite disappointing it could definitely be better, very basic. Also no flavor. The Dave's sauce tasted like nothing. You'd be better off eating it with Canes sauce. The only thing I throughly enjoyed was the pickles.. Maybe I will try a Dave's hot chicken in another state.

Everything about Dave's is meh. It is definitely overhyped and I've had better meals at Cane's for half the price. Food is bland. The only thing that is saving it is the dipping sauce. I didn't have the best experience with the staff. After waiting for an hour, I asked for an update and I was told to sit down and wait. (Not very appreciated). The inside is nice but I don't recommend.

My first time having Dave's hot chicken. I love how new the plaza and building is. I was surprised to see a long wait, with about seven or so parties ahead of me. I would say it took about 30 minutes until I got to the cashier. Once I placed my order, it took about 15 minutes or so to get my food. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing, much better than any other fast food spot that I know of. The fries were OK, a little soggy/soft for my liking I would recommend and would come back.

The food was amazing as Dave's usually is. The inside was decorated in a lovely artistic way. The staff needed a little help organizing and communicating with the crowd of patrons. It was a bit chaotic which lead to the wait time being a bit long. I understand they just opened up within the last month so hopefully they can work the kinks out soon.

I understand that this place just opened so there's some grace with having to wait. However my food was not hot so I don't understand what the long wait was for. I got the mild chicken as I didn't want too much spicy, despite not being hot there was a crunch to it and the chicken tenders were a nice size. The sauce didn't have much flavor to it, and the fries were cold which was another disappointment. It was a nice amount of food for the price. The inside was clean and the decor was really nice and there was music playing, it wasn't too loud where you couldn't hear another person talking to you.

I went to Dave's Hot Chicken because my 11 yr old godson wanted to go. The interior is brightly colored and the restaurant is very clean. However, I thought the chicken was mediocre at best. I got the # 4 - the single slider w fries. My godson got the 2 slider combo. The chicken was dry and not well seasoned on mine. He ate both of his sandwiches so I thought he liked them. He was just hungry. I asked him what he thought and he said he might come back maybe in a year. He gave it a 4/10. Neither of us cared for the Dave's sauce either. We both agreed Cane's is much better. Perhaps it was an off day at Dave's

The real deal! Food was delicious, came out quick, and the staff was so friendly. The reaper level is NOT a gimmick, get one of those killer shakes if you're gonna attempt it.

We came here for our son's birthday weekend and it's definitely an experience. We ordered and waited about 30-40 minutes for the food (4 meals). The food does come out super fresh and it's pretty high quality chicken. We all got the medium which has a great flavor. It's heavy on the chili/paprika flavor, this is a West Coast chain so it's not the Louisiana spicy chicken we're used to, still really good just different. They do a great job frying because the crunch was top tier and the way the flavor seems like it's in the batter is amazing. It was $65 for 4 meals so pretty steep pricing. The reasons we wouldn't be back is because of the wait, there's nowhere to sit, it's really hot in the building and it's pretty expensive. I hope they get some fans for the cooks in the back too. They're back there frying chicken which I know from experience makes it hot and they're sweating their butts off back there to get it out fast due to the volume. The line was out the door when we left at 3pm so I can only imagine how hot they must be for a lunch rush. Not including takeout, DoorDash etc. Tanner was who took our order and he's a great employee. Super helpful, positive and very polite. Tell his mom she did a fantastic job raising that young man!

It's all about the PICKLES, yall! Such a great meal at this Dave's. Hot is the only flavor for me and it didn't disappoint! Dip your fries in the Dave's sauce, it is way too good and I'm glad we were only in town for a visit or I might need to start buying bigger clothes. Service was just as fantastic. Despite it being busy, they really came through with quick food times and friendly staff. Clean space, well stocked, no greasy smells. It's a new location and I think they will be here for a long time. Definitely check it out if you're craving hot chicken, crispy pickles, and friendly service!
