My stay was good, as expected. Check-in was a breeze, and the staff were extremely accommodating (forgot her name). I am rating the hotel 4/5 as one of the two elevators on the side nearest to the bar was not working. Sometimes, there was a long wait for it. The open bar was quite busy, but the drinks were great. There were some gentlemen in the bar area who were in line for more cocktails. I hoped someone would soon tell them they couldn't have any more, but I did not stick around to see. I expected some food items, but there were none. Otherwise, the room was comfortable and quiet, allowing for a good night's sleep. Breakfast in the morning was, as expected, great with fresh and made-to-order food items. All in all, a great stay except the broken elevator.

I've stayed at many Embassy Suites across the country, and usually found them reliably similar in features and value. Unfortunately they are not all apparently created equal. The Baton Rouge Embassy Suites has its plusses and a handful of minuses. To start with, the hotel has an older feel to it, that could be a very cool throwback to early 1900s if done well. My gut feeling is it was purchased by Embassy at some point, but I could be wrong. It does have a nice lobby and lounge, but that's where the charm ends. Our room was dank and dingy, with outdated and stained carpets, narrow doors and passageways, and no modern features at all. We thought at first that it was a double queen bedroom but it actually turned out to be a double full. Very difficult for a couple to share a bed, and very cramped in that small space. The bathroom was tiny and had a bathtub instead of your typical walk in shower, and the toilet uses a ton of water and drains very slowly. To boot, the in room televisions were small, and the ones available in the lounge weren't any better. The happy hour was a nice touch, with a free selection of beers and mixed drinks until 7. But to purchase even a simple IPA that wasn't on the happy hour selection was a steep $11. To cap it all off, despite our room charge being $125 for one night, after taxes, miscellaneous surcharges, the final charge at checkout was $146. BUT! The card was charged $256! More unexplained fees added after, which we are in the process of disputing. A pet fee of $75 was expected but we never did see that charged. It's a mess. The printout should break down every charge and match what we see on the credit card statement. Period. Suggestion for management: If you had clean carpets to begin with, offering a refundable pet deposit gives guests incentive to take care of their room. A fee just says, "Do what you want, we're keeping your money." Moving on to the breakfast, a feature that Embassy Suites is known for, and was an easy mark to hit. Just do what the other guys do. Breakfast was pretty meager though. Stiff, fake eggs. Stale bacon. Very little in the way of bread or pastries. The cranberry juice (see photos) was obviously watered down. And as the 0900 cutoff approached, with 10 or 12 people still in the dining room and a couple still headed towards the breakfast area, they slammed a huge roll-down door down with no warning and a few minutes before 0900. Lights went out, the staff began clearing food away. Not even a courtesy announcement for anyone who might still want a little something. There's plenty of room for improvement at this Embassy Suites location. Start with a major renovation to update the floors and in room features, and then focus on giving the guests value for their money, and a clear understanding of the charges up front.

If I could give zero stars I would. Stayed this past weekend for LSUs family weekend. After a long day of tailgating and game, came back to 0 towels available in the entire hotel. If you didn't have any to replace, why would you take what we had. Beyond frustrating! Had to go purchase our own. DO BETTER!

The hotel itself looks decent when you walk in, but this stay proved not all Embassy Suites are created equally. The room was "tidy" but not clean. I found two long hairs in the sheets when I pulled back the blanket. I'm assuming this means the sheets weren't changed.

We stayed one night only. Yes, I don't doubt that the other reviews could be valid, but our experience wasn't bad. I would say it was quite average. Our room was clean, it smelled fine, the AC worked great, linens were clean, comfy bed and nice pillow selection. Employees were VERY, VERY nice. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel does need a facelift and due to lack of demand the restaurant doesn't serve dinner on weekends, but they do provide a happy hour and snacks. We ordered Door Dash and had some yummy local cuisine for Parrains. The hotel wasn't very crowded, I imagine when it's busy things might get a bit more challenging. Overall, we were pleased.

I really had high hopes when I walked in. The lobby is really cool looking. Also, the front desk staff was great. That's all. When I walked into my room I was greeted by someone else's belongings. Fortunately they weren't in the room, but I could have easily robbed them of everything. FYI...my coworker also got a key for an occupied room. When I walked into my real room it wasn't too bad at first glance. But...the room never really got cool and had an odor. There was hair on a pillow, a towel, and the shower (all different color). The shower also had those soap/shampoo/conditioner pumps in the shower and only the conditioner wasn't empty. Also empty...the tissue box. Having brought my own toiletries, it wasn't worth complaining at the time. Figured I'd let them know on my way out since I typically don't do housekeeping during my stay. Well, that was the intent at least. The first day my "do not disturb" sign disappeared and housekeeping came in. After getting another sign, it was also removed and housekeeping came in the second morning too. Apparently they just come in to remake the bed since that's all they di On my final full day I was working from my room when they came again and knocked on my door announcing "housekeeping". So I say no thanks. A minute later another knock and "housekeeping." Same response from me. Then the door starts to open but I had the latch locked and had to say it again. After the housekeeper finally left I checked to see if the sign disappeared again, but no. It was hanging right on the door. Maybe I misinterpreted "do not disturb"? Also, make sure if you plan on actually drying off after a shower to find a towel next to the bed cause you won't find it in the actual bathroom. The snack room was anything but. Chips? Nope. Soda? Nope. Candy bars? Just a couple of Hershey bars that were gone right after I took my photo and never restocked. Any kind of chilled snack? Not even close. There is a so called vending machine on each floor. Hope you want Mountain Dew cause that's your soda option. Unless you want to take a chance with the unmarked button. Your guess is as good as mine on that one. Or, you could just sit at the bar and hope you didn't bring any children I suppose. Could I have walked to a gas station half a mile away in the rain? Sure. Should I have to? I guess I'll leave that up to you. Come on Hilton! I've stayed at better motels in bad parts of a neighborhood. As a diamond member I have obviously put in my time at Hilton hotels, and this would have to be the worst.

This was the worst hotel experience in recent memory. Room was dirty, moldy, smelled and totally worn out. No shampoo in the (moldy) shower, only to find out once I was in there (and in a hurry) that the bottle was totally empty. No housekeeping. Furniture was so old, the handle pulls were rusted and desk chair fabric was peeling off. The best part? The creatures scratching at the wall during the night. It was a business trip, and In general the common areas were nice. Except for the water in the lobby bathroom sinks didn't work consistently, and there was also no soap.

Room was dirty, old and smelly. Clearly hasn't been updated since the 1980's. Room furniture was very worn. Hilton should be embarrassed by this property.

Stay at the Embassy suites check out was easy. I had a little complication on my end and the young lady behind the desk was willing to give me a second to get everything sorted and was able to help me out so amazing Marie, Athg, Aiyana. Thank ya"ll for making my stay amazing. That. Being said. The hotel was dated, but the breakfast was great, especially the made to order omelette. I didn't enjoy the happy hour. I was able to meet and then go with the guest in the hotel +++ unfortunately one of the elevators is broken and it took a very long time to get to and from my room. Hopefully when I come back, some of those issues will be fixed overall good stay
