Amazing service and great location. Close to LSU campus and close to the mall. Nice workout area too.

Nice overall experience. The employees are kind, you get free breakfast (which we always overslept for, lol), and the prices per night were fair. No complaints about any of that. However I took off one star because I felt like the room felt cramped for the size bed we had, and it was noisy at times. We had a king size bed which literally sat right next to the ac unit. When I turned the air on (which was absolutely needed because it gets pretty warm in the room), the air would blow directly into my bed and on my face/body. Even on the lowest setting, it was uncomfortable to be in the bed with the ac on. I had to scoot closer to the middle and essentially push my hubby to the max end of the bed (on his side) so I wouldn't freeze. That made it hard to get comfortable and relax while watching tv and/or sleep. If the bed was smaller or sat further away from the ac, this wouldn't have been an issue. The room we got is the ideal size for a queen bed. Also, I'm a light sleeper, and I expected the windows to be sound proof. They're not. I heard all of the noise from the freeway and from the streets. The noise would wake me up at random times and made it difficult to get back to sleep. Also, I did find hair in my bed, which was pretty gross. I guess they do the best they can to wash the bedding, but still....yuck. I'd stay someplace else if I was in the area again.

I have previously stayed at a SpringHill Suites and enjoyed the spacious rooms and complimentary amenities, so based on this I decided to book the SpringHill Suites Baton Rouge South. From the exterior, the hotel looks like a standard Springhill Suites. Inside, the lobby included the check-in desks, a small pantry to purchase forgotten items, a nice relaxing lounge/sitting area, as well as the restaurant where the breakfast is served in the morning. The hotel was only three floors so the first floor contained other hotel features such as business center, the pool, complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby, and a washer/dryer. At check-in the service was basic, I was not greeted as a Rewards member, and the staff did the minimal of their job; I was only there for one night so just received my key and proceeded to my room. For some reason I received a room reserved for disability access so the layout was a bit different. As you entered the door, the room was smaller than other Springhill Suites but bigger than a standard hotel room. As you entered, there was a large entryway to accommodate disability equipment. The door to the bathroom was on the left while the right had space to move around or put a luggage rack. The bathroom itself was bigger and had handle rails, but the counter space on the sink was very tiny and could barely hold anything; the hotel did provide soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and towels. Back in the room, the beds were located along the left wall and we had a room with two double beds so both beds were against the wall with a nightstand in the middle; there were also outlets available on the nightstand. Along the right side of the wall was open armoire which contained shelves on top and a microwave and refrigerator on the bottom. Connected to that was a desk which contained a lamp (with outlets) as well as a TV. Continuing along the rightside was a couch that was in between the desk and the window and there was a TV mounted on the wall across from the couch. It was a decent size room but generally Springhill Suites have bigger rooms, so I was not sure if this was a modified version or if this was another type of hotel room that was turned into a Springhill Suites. The hotel provides a decent amount of facilities for guests to enjoy including complimentary parking, complimentary wifi, complimentary breakfast, a fitness center, laundry facilities, indoor pool, business center, and complimentary coffee and hot water. The wifi was open, did not involve any passwords or login and could connect as many devices as you wanted. The pool, fitness center, and laundry were open to everyone and while not large facilities were decent enough to provide the basics. The hot water + coffee were available throughout the day and the complimentary breakfast was available in the morning - normally it is a buffet but given the pandemic it was modified to where you come and select prepackaged cereals, fruit, yogurt, muffins, etc and take them back to your room to eat. Its a basic breakfast and its decent and glad hotels are still offering this service. Overall, Springhill Suites provide the guests with a good night's sleep and a lot of a facilities. The room is not perfect, but it's decent and they are generally clean and spacious.

I honestly would choose to stay at this hotel again. I booked through Priceline.com and used the name my price feature and this was the hotel that was assigned. I honestly didn't even know this location existed and I visit Baton Rouge frequently. I booked a king room and ended up getting a handicapped access room which I was ok with since it was a little bigger. The room was clean and bright. The sitting area had a nice sofa with its own flat screen TV. There was also another flat screen on the dresser that could be viewed from the bed. The bed was ok. Wasn't as soft as I prefer my mattress to be but I was only here for one night. Breakfast is included with your stay. They offered eggs, sausage, biscuits, waffle making station, fruits, coffee etc. It was a decent breakfast for a hotel. It wasn't until I was checking out that I realized they have an indoor pool and whirlpool. That's a nice feature since it can get pretty cold here during the winter.

Got a good nights sleep and wonderful customer service. The location was perfect for my meetings the cleanliness of the hotel was spot on. I feel like coming here made my life easier with the complementary breakfast and ease of access to the major highways. This would not be my last stay here I easily recommend this location for family's, quick night stops and a group of folks. WiFi is great, the gift bag of goodies that I received upon check-in put the icing on the cake for me. It's like getting a treat within a treat, checking into this magnificent hotel everything was pristine and very well organized.

For the most part, I was pretty pleased with my hotel experience while arriving late in Baton Rouge one night. This Springhill location is like every other in its consistency: very comfortable room, great customer service, very clean hotel with a nouveau look to it. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, especially after a long day of travel from Dallas. The only thing that I found fault with was that the morning breakfast was really "meh." Compared to other Springhill properties, I found breakfast here to be slightly below average. The sausage was dry, the eggs slightly powdery for some reason, and very limited choices of just muffins and bagels. I usually expected a little more, but no matter. I wolfed down my tasteless breakfast and drank my average coffee prior to heading out on the road. Certainly a C- when it comes to breakfast. Yet the property itself was very comfortable, hence my 4 star rating. While breakfast could have been better, it was the least of my concerns, considering that there really isn't anything else to eat breakfast around Essen Park, unless you want gas station food.

First of all, we are Marriott Platinum so we stay in a lot of Marriotts throughout the year. This is up there for being one of the worse we have ever stayed in. Not a good place to stay... the carpet in our room was horrible. The sheets felt old... covered in peels. The staff was chatting among themselves and never even acknowledged us. Thank goodness we were only passing through Baton Rouge and was only in this hotel less than 8 hours.

I had great expectations since this is a Marriott hotel. I am a germaphobe so I always clean when I get to hotel rooms, this room definitely needed the wipe down. The carpet in the room needs to be replaced, there are brown spill stains everywhere. I had everyone in my family keep their socks on while they walked around. The couch had stains on the pillows and that's never a good sign. We decided not to use the pull out sofa because of the condition of the couch. There was remnants of popcorn in the bottom of the bed frame. The television worked for about 2 1/2 hours and then it never worked again. We checked to make sure it was plugged in, tried to turn it on from the television but nothing worked. The water pressure in the shower after you pass warm is significantly lower than just cold water. The refrigerator leaked and so there was water pooling at the bottom of the refrigerator and the water would spill out when the door was opened. The telephone in the room definitely was not cleaned as there was dust encrusted in the spirals of the cord. The elevator can fit three adults and it jerks when it first starts--scary when you're coming down from the 3rd floor. I can't tell you about breakfast because I didn't go down. If the room was a reflection of the cleanliness of the hotel I didn't feel comfortable eating there. A bright spot to the hotel would be the ladies at the front desk. They were very friendly and helpful. They greeted us coming in and exiting every day. I will not be a return customer. Very disappointed.

One overnight stay: This is the old Springhill style with an updated exterior, lobby and colors. Room on 3rd floor was quiet even being close to elevator- nice. Beds were comfortable however a few touches are needed to room to bring this up to the latest Springhill standards of pristine bath areas, non- carpeting in the bath area. Breakfast was typical spread of waffles, sausage, eggs, cereal and yogurt- but bypassed it for just juice and a muffin. The 2 Star is because it did what it was supposed to - offer a decent place to stay. Customer service was very good - people visiting seems satisfied.

Mary from front desk was so nice and helpful. She really made our stay feel welcoming, and personal. Absolutely recommend staying at Springhill!
