I brought the family here for my grandchildren's birthdays. We had a wonderful time in part because our waiter went out of his way to help us celebrate. The food was very good. The decor is festive. Fyi, there's no liquor served as they lost their liquor license. So keep that in mind if you plan on drinking. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Not always the most consistent. Sometimes service is amazing; other times, I feel like I should've stayed home. Food is usually consistently good. Queso is good. Agua de Jamaica is perfect - the best I've had outside of MX. Their salads are the only things that have really disappointed me. My only other reason for deducting a star is because it is as loud as the damn super dome in there. They blast the music, so every table is trying to shout over it and each other. It's so bad, we have started just ordering take out

Depending on where you park, the entrance to El Patron can be a little confusing. Once we entered the restaurant, we were impressed with the ambience. I especially loved the wall of traditional ceramic ware and how certain parts of the dining area offer a great view of the outside patio with its lush landscaping. Our server took a little while to get to our table, but once she did, our food was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. We, of course, loved the fact that they participate in the authentic Mexican restaurant tradition of gratis chips and salsa. Also authentically, the chips were not salty. I enjoyed my $7 for 5 tacos meal. Mom got the "mi favorita quesadilla" that comes with a side salad, which she enjoyed. We both loved our margaritas. I got the mangonada flavor and she got the mango and strawberry flavors.

Updated review 06/2025: Some members at the church I attend live around the corner so they invited us to eat here again. El Patron is still not my favorite Mexican restaurant on the Bestbank, but the lengua quesadilla that I had this visit was amazing.

A great place to visit with friends for some good food and beautiful views. The restaurant is decorated so nicely, and the ambiance is perfect to enjoy a nice dinner. Our table shared some queso and chips, and I really liked their salsa. My grilled fish taco was garnished well, but the fish lacked a little in flavor and seasoning. Everyone else's food looked great, so I'll have to come back and try something else on the menu. Our waitress was kind and helpful as we decided on what to eat, and the service was fast. I'd like to return again!

I came here on a Tuesday with some friends. The ambiance was really nice and spacious. Service was fast and friendly. There was a 5 tacos for $7 deal, as the tacos were already huge compared to other places. They were so delicious! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who craves Mexican food in the Westbank area.

We stopped in here for a quick bite before a movie. Running behind, we had under an hour to eat, pay, and get out. This isn't something we even had to mention to the waiter. He was so quick with taking our orders, refilling our drinks, and even gave us a to-go cup at the end! Excellent service! The vibe here is very nice. There are separate seating areas, some with more light, some with less. I'm not sure if you can choose where you sit, but I think it works for however you're feeling. On to the food! I got the birria tacos, and I savored every bit of it. The green sauce was delicious with a tiny kick to it, the roasted vegetables were well seasoned, and the birria itself was one probably one of the best I ever had.

I was not a huge fan of El Patron at their old location. But I have been to the new location at least 5 times and it is consistently good. The shrimp chimichanga, beans, fajitas and chicken chimichanga are favorites. I'll keep trying new things! The salsa is good, and the service is fantastic as well.
