Pleasantly surprised at how clean and well kept the restaurant was. Service was on point even even though there were only two servers. Someone serves your food instead you serving yourself. Much more sanitary and the majority of the food was fresh. Would give it another try as I honestly was skeptical at first. Good job.

Show up hungry. We got charged $46 for the breakfast buffet and glasses of orange juice for two people. To be fair, we didn't ask; they no longer hand out menus, and the price of the buffet is not actually listed anywhere in the restaurant. We had not been there in several years, and didn't think to ask if it was now $23 a person. That is bananas for a restaurant with moldy air conditioning vents, stand fans blowing on your food, and your standard Shoney's breakfast buffet of eggs, hashbrowns, rice (nothing expensive like seafood). Also ketchup and hot sauce are now only by request and no longer on the tables. Still shaking my head lol

I visited the Shoney's in Lafayette, LA years ago. It was horrible! I'm not shocked it closed. I enjoyed this location in Gretna. The prices are reasonable, the staff is decent, and the food is what you can expect from a buffet. Everything I tried I enjoyed. The establishment was clean. The food was fresh and hot!

Mixed feelings about this place. Came in on a Saturday around 1 pm. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. Food was decent but really lacked selections. Bacon and sausage were the only proteins available on the breakfast bar and fried chicken the only one on the lunch bar. Would have liked more variety for a little more than $20 including soda, tip, and tax.

Drive by here all the time and thought it was an abandoned building. My in laws told me this place has the best breakfast so I met up with them. The breakfast was a Buffett and they had a varieties of food to choose from. They have biscuit, eggs, bacon, grits, French toast, fruits, pancake, and other things. It's a typical breakfast buffet nothing to brag about. The price is reasonable and the service was slow. The layout seems dated but I wasn't expecting much. Overall, I would come back if I want a variety of choice for breakfast.

I visited this Shoneys a couple of weeks ago. The food was great and the service was excellent. I haven't eaten so much in a really long time. I was shocked they are only open till 2pm on a Sunday. It was worth it. I'll definitely come back.

Our son took us there for Thanksgiving $14.99 + tax a person. The food was not good, my wife's chicken thigh had blood oozing out of it, there was a big fan blowing over the food and the food was bland, now don't get me wrong we are not salt lovers at all, but you have to have some salt in your food. The service was good, Charlene is the manager and she is very nice and treats everyone great, but wish the food had been better.

11NOV23 ~ Thank you for supporting Veterans on Veteran's Day! The breakfast bar is as good as any. It has all you can eat of just about anything that you would want to eat. Our waitress was genuinely friendly, spoke well of all the Veterans, and gave great & fast service.

I like Shoney's, I guess...after all, I worked at one as a high schooler back home in Florida and it's good to see one still thriving here in NOLA. There's another one in Morgan City as well. So, for the good, this restaurant is pretty resilient. They're one of what, maybe five in the nation? JK. But after Hurricane Ida, they opened up pretty quickly and were ready to feed their customers. Pretty awesome! Their new hours are 6am-2pm and they're still serving lunch at 11am. I think it'll serve them well to have the breakfast buffet all day, For the not so good, it's dated and can use a serious makeover or deep clean. Other than that, it's the usual bacon, eggs, cheese, gravy, biscuits, grits, French toast and sausage deal they've always had. However, the salad bar has greatly improved and I enjoyed a nice big salad for breakfast, which was actually good I might add. Oh and another feature about the buffet bar, for a $12' flat fee, take out is available....not bad! Lastly, considering the mass exodus of hospitality professionals, I'm glad they still have pleasant staff. I just wanna do my part and support our local businesses as much as I support Amazon ;)
