the food critic for the local paper in New Orleans had recommended a couple of restaurants tbd other day and one looked really good so we decided to check it out. The restaurant is located in Metairie near the Orleans Parish line. The restaurant does accept reservations but generally it's not needed. the restaurant is somewhat small and casual which was nice but also made it somewhat awkward if you sat in the walkway. we started off with the onion rings and then ordered the eggplant parmesan, the stuffed bell pepper with pasta, trout with seafood on top, and finally shrimp and pasta. the portions were a good size but it lacked flavor. the cheese on the eggplant parmesan tasted prepackaged and there was a lack of flavor for the sauce. we have been to other italian restaurants which have a better flavor and better sauce. the fish with seafood and sauce was decent as was the stuffed bell pepper, but the accompanying pasta had minimal flavor and the shrimp and pasta also had minimal flavor. overall a disappointing experience. decent portions but minimal taste of the food. the service was also not good and it was expensive so overall not worth it in my opinion

We found this place on Yelp since our regular "grab some fried shrimp as you leave NOLA" place is closed on Sunday. We are so glad they were closed. This place is a hidden gem. We've been coming to NOLA as a couple for 35 years and never knew about this place. We read the reviews of the long time customers crying because the original owners sold. We can't imagine it could have been any better since everything was delicious. They had some Sunday brunch items, but we came for seafood. We started with their fried onion rings. It is a huge order and the batter and seasoning are sheer perfection. We then ordered the fried seafood platter and we subbed more shrimp instead of the oysters. Do not shoot us, we just don't care for oysters. All of the seafood tasted so fresh came out piping hot and was fried perfectly. We enjoyed the brandy milk punches x3. If you have never had a brandy milk punch and you enjoy a creamy drink, get it. Their homemade blue cheese is excellent. Our server was Johnny on the spot and very friendly. We met who we thought to be the owner and maybe his son? At least we think he was the manager. They chatted with us for a bit and were very gracious. The restaurant is very intimate and cozy. We wished we lived closer to frequent it. We can't wait to come back and try their crawfish bread, gumbo and some pasta.

Their excellence is best exhibited in. their "Burger-made" martini, which simply the best in earth (if it's with gin, my preference only). Otherwise, it's 1980 food.

Solid food. Place is nice on the inside and service was great! Give 3.5 stars. Went for lunch and had the crab salad and Gumbo. I would like to go back for dinner and get the Italian food. It looked good.

Well the place was ok but the food wasn't, I had the fish and shrimp plate that was pretty good. My wife had the chicken Alfredo, the red sauce was not good her pasta was dry and hard on top like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. There wasn't any bread with her meal and had to pay little over four bucks for a side salad that was just some iceberg lettuce and 2 grape tomatoes. Our two friends with us had stuffed crab which was only a little ball . He didn't like the taste of it . His wife had a shrimp po boy , she said the bread was awful. Both he and my wife got sick later on when we got home. I will not be going back

Haven't been in awhile. Five stars for BURGA, who is the best server ever, and the reason we came back. The stuffed shrimp were heaven, just as we remembered. Everything was going great until we found out that they took the broiled chicken off the menu! WHAT??? WHY????? It was a spectacular dish, well worth the extra time it took to cook. We used to be here 2-3 times a week and want to resume that, but WE WANT BROILED CHICKEN!!!!!
