For days, I had been on a mission to find fried chicken livers all over the city and finally, I found this restaurant online, just outside the city limits. Every now and then, I get a serious craving for fried chicken livers, and lately I'd been hitting dead ends. A few places listed them online, but when I arrived, they'd say they no longer served them. So this time, I called ahead to make sure before making the trip. Thankfully, they had them and I was on my way. The restaurant has a warm, family-oriented feel to it, very warm optically for sure. And the chicken livers? Excellent. Fried just right and definitely hit the spot. I'm happy to have finally found a go-to when that craving calls!

Mr Ed's has become one of our Go-To places whenever we are in New Orleans. We always have a good experience here. This is a great example of the Neighborhood restaurants scattered throughout New Orleans. Small cozy place that has been around forever. A wide variety of food on the menu. Daily specials. Full bar. Something for everyone. The staff are friendly and they'll act like they know you even if they don't. We always feel welcome. The food is good. Portion sizes are decent. It can get a little loud when they are busy and sometimes there's a wait but it has never been a problem. Highly recommended.

I came in on a Saturday for lunch and was immediately asked if I was there to pick up an order. I was not and said that I was hoping to dine there. The hostess got up from her chair that she was sitting in and walked me over to a table. My drink order was placed for a sweet tea. I was brought an unsweetened tea and it wasn't until after I took a sip that there was stuff floating in the cup. It could have been harmless, but I don't know. I ordered the salmon with potatoes and vegetables. It came with a salad that was a small tomato cut in half, one slice of a cucumber and the rest iceberg lettuce. The salmon was good, but there was a weird skin over the warmed up butter, like they had prepared it hours earlier and didn't bother to stir it before bringing it out. The peanut butter pie was the best part of the whole meal. Everything seemed to be neat and clean. Prices are a bit higher than I remember from my last visit.

Food quality has gone way down, disappointing. Sure hope it revamps soon. Seems that the mostly elderly customers are keeping it going. Service is usually good. Can get noisy at times.

So amazing, I had to go back. Stellar chicken and trout. Out of this world cocktails. Impeccable service. There is a waiter there named Bobby. Ask for him. He is meticulous and cares. He is a class act all the way. Happening place with good customer base of good people. Coming through. Makes for the kind of ambiance that creates a relaxing atmosphere and delightful escape into the best of Bucktown after a day of all life's cares.

Great meal, decent service with a well stocked bar. My last visit did have an inexcusable occurrence tho. Ordered dessert and coffee; I was brought my dessert and was told no coffee was available-the coffee machine "had already been cleaned". This was even before the restaurant's closing hour (9:00 pm), with several tables still eating. I don't understand why a final pot of coffee wasn't put aside if they were so bound and determined to leave early. This was on a Thursday night so just no excuse. 'Still love the place, best fried chicken in Metairie, great seafood, love the paneed pork chops, more!

Without a doubt our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Great red gravy, veal and beans. Their house italian dressing is one of favorites. The staff is always friendly and efficient. Going to Mr. Ed's feels like you're stopping by grandmas for dinner.

First of all, they need to find a chef who knows how to cook. My wife ordered the eggplant over pasta and when she tasted it, the eggplant was badly undercooked, almost crunchy. The server got my aunt's order wrong and it took forever to get the correct order out to our table. The seafood dish I ordered was unremarkable - very little taste and more like a fast-food version of Crab Meat au Gratin. Given all the great restaurants in the New Orleans area, don't waste your time or money on Mr. Ed's.
