Like stepping back into 19th century New Orleans... your helpful host Keith presents a 3 course breakfast every morning with dishes from old recipes. Keith made us 1830s creole eggs (amazing!), and a boudin that was to die for with perfect poached eggs (he has chef level culinary skills)... along with the hot tub in a quiet and private back yard, this place is a real gem. Quiet at night too, but close enough to walk to the action. As huge foodies, we will be back, if only because a 3 night stay wasn't long enough to sample all the dishes he can make.

The Antebellum Guest House is a hidden gem in New Orleans.I am writing this after my third visit and this stay was as wonderful as the previous two. The B&B is a historic antebellum home that has been painstakingly and lovingly restored by the owners. When entering the house one steps back in time and experiences the rich history of the area. The Antebellum Guest House is walking distance from the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street and yet, sitting in the beautiful back yard listening to the wind chimes and watching the Spanish moss sway in the breeze, you could be in a different century. The rooms are extremely clean, quiet and have very comfortable beds. It is the breakfasts, however, that will leave the biggest impression. Keith prepares a 3 course meal made from original Antebellum recipes and served on authentic china. Probably the best food I have had in New Orleans! All this is to say that for those looking for a different type of stay in New Orleans , you won't go wrong staying here! I am already anticipating my next visit.

I couldn't speak highly enough of this incredible establishment. My wife and I have both been to New Orleans once before and the experience of staying in a Hotel pales in comparison to being hosted by the Antebellum Guest House. The proprietors Keith and Art love what they do, and it shows. They keep a beautifully appointed home that makes you feel like you're stepping into a time capsule from the 1830's. The guest rooms and common areas are filled with restored antiques, art, and vintage curiosities. As for our guest room, The Rococo Room, the photos that I saw online could not do it justice. It's a high ceilinged chamber with a grand bed that has a crown that stretches up high above it. It's quite impressive looking and rather comfortable. There is a small restroom area with a toilet and shower, as well as a large sink/makeup area out in the main room, partially concealed by a stylish room divider. There is a small television in the room, but we had our computers, and we didn't have much down time to watch it anyway. The hot breakfasts are prepared and served by Keith, who welcomes you at a pre-arranged time in the main dining room. The meals he prepared during our stay were inspired (historic) 3-course creations, consisting of a fruit course, a pastry course, and a main entree. He does take dietary restrictions into consideration and adjusts the recipes where possible, so you should let him know if you have specific needs. Overall, he aims to create a historic experience with specific regional dishes from New Orleans' flavorful past. The meals are incredibly crafted, both beautiful and delightful to the palette. While we were dining, Keith explained to us the history of the home and the local area. There are some incredible stories that he has to share, but I would rather not give them away here, you will have to stay there to find out! In addition, he is very knowledgeable about the local attractions and tours, and is able to offer some excellent suggestions to make your visit more enjoyable. One particular decision where he offered us helpful advice was in deciding which plantation we should visit. He was very familiar with several of the properties, and was able to figure out which would be best suited for us, based on what we were looking to see. The location, which is several blocks away from the French Quarter, felt safe, and far enough away from the hustle and bustle for our tastes. It was a brisk walk or a very short cab ride to the Quarter, and easy access to the freeway and main avenues. Couple the impeccable service and attention, with the flavor and flair of this home, and you will understand why we believe that staying at Antebellum is a far better option than a hotel. We already have begun to recommend staying here to our family and friends, and will certainly be coming back in the future. In our opinion, staying at this establishment is the best possible way to immerse yourself in a true New Orleans experience!

Hands down Best Magical Guest House in New Orleans! Had a wonderful experience in this beautiful home with lots of historical details. Made us feel as we were stepping back in time (1800's). Everything had a story to it. Owner Keith was a great host, and full of knowledge. His breakfast was the highlight of the day. Made us feel very comfortable and went beyond to save us some cash. Best mattress I've ever slept on in any trip!!! The room was well maintain and very comfortable. The courtyard is amazing with a hot-tub to relax. This trip was memorable thanks to Keith and his partner Art's hospitality. I am definitely making this amazing house my stay every time I get a chance to visit NOLA! Excited to go back and I just got home last night. Lol BTW in a great location. Keith thank you once again. :) Xx

Rooms we're clean and period perfect. Breakfast was "out of this world!" Keith was the perfect host preparing period breakfasts from old family recipes. The antiques were splendid and the home is In a great location, convenient to the French Quarter.

We stayed the weekend at the Antebellum Guest house and had the most amazing time! The house is right in the French Quarter and is absolutely gorgeous! Owners Keith and Art are fantastic hosts. Full of knowledge and very hospitable. We came here on a recommendation from family that had stayed here in the past and we were not disappointed! Keith is super nice and always had a great recommendation for dinner and drinks any one that we asked. Now for the breakfast... Make sure you book directly through their website and NOT on Air B&B so you can get the full experience. I don't know what kind of magic is going on in the kitchen but Keith makes the most amazing breakfast! I kid you not when I say that this was probably the best breakfast the wife and I have ever had. We will definitely will be coming back, we are already planning to book again in a few months. Thank you Keith and Art for an amazing time!
