I was in town and met up with a friend I haven't seen in several years. She knows the owners and wanted to come here since they recently reopened. We arrived around 11:30pm. It definitely has that throwback neighborhood juke joint vibe going on and seems to be mainly for the older crowd. My initial turn off was the music volume. It was sooo loud. She had to scream our order to the bartender and forget having a conversation. I mostly made head nods and said a few things to my friend during the evening but was still hoarse the next day. We had a fried catfish dinner while there. The catfish was good but the potato salad was just okay. Also, the bartender was very nonchalant about serving us. She seemed annoyed that we were in her presence. I'll give it 3 stars because I appreciate neighborhood businesses.

Amazing neighborhood bar! I honestly didn't expect much when I arrived but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was timely. They were very busy but I was still well taken care of. My food took a while to come out but the kitchen was very busy. Mainly, because there was a high demand! The customers were ordering a lot, because it was great. I ate that loaded potato feverishly, skin and The drinks were another great surprise. The bartenders crafted amazing and exciting cocktails! The kind of cute drinks you would expect at a fancy downtown bar but instead you were at a cool, cozy place with great music and even better people! This is a bar for "Grown Folks" if you don't understand that don't come, you'll ruin the vibe. I can't wait to go back. I felt at home there.

I only had the Yakamein (noodles, beef broth, beef, & shrimp) which was delish. I went during the day so it was mostly people coming in ordering food and leaving. You will not know this place sells food other than the sign outside. Menus provided at bar and you can place your order there as well.

I have been hearing about the bar with the best Yaka Mein for over 10 years now and I have finally had a chance to visit and it was well worth the price. This place is actually a bar with that serves food. The set up is small and it has a pool table and a D.J. and the drinks were very good. But what I came here for was the Yaka Mein, This was oh so delicious and I wish I could have it everyday on a cold Dallas Night (restaurant is in New Orleans). The soup had a perfect temp and flavor and the meat was real beef, not roast beef like other places use and real shrimp not those baby shrimp. And for an added bonus the basic plain naked wings were very good and I could have ate about 10 more along with a few more of those cocktails that the bartendar made for me, I had about three of them. LOL. Off the beaten path but being from there it is just another neighborhood spot. Will return.

They have really good Ya ka mein. Yes this one way in and one way out bar has good food. It is served in a large cup. I often call ahead and pick it up. There are pool tables and good music.

The yakamein and shrimp plate I had was really good. Only thing I needed to add was hot sauce to my yakamein because I wanted it a bit hotter. The crowd was an older crowd but it was good vibes. I enjoyed the music and the bartender was attentive even though she was really busy

The food is overpriced and off-putting. The shrimp salad is made with hamburger toppings and old boiled eggs. The shrimp plate comes with shredded iceberg... what am I supposed to do with that?

Older crowd but the food is Awesome and you get your money's worth. Friendly atmospehere. The price are reasonable but they pack you plate.

Great hang out spot for happy hour. The music is good and the people who hang out there are friendly. The food is also good and the kitchen is open all night. I can see this as an after work spot or a good old school spot on sundays. I'll be back.
