For the first beignets I got in NOLA, these were highly disappointing. They were too dense and HUGE. I couldn't even finish one by myself. I was expecting a fluffy french donut but was met with a dense fried ball of dough. The cafe itself was adorable and I loved the theming. We got a cute table next to the window and there were even musicians playing while we ate. The service was honestly pretty bad. The lady taking our order rushed us even though we were the only ones in line and mumbled through her words so we couldn't hear her. My friend didn't hear her say "take the number" and she even whispered under her breath "people don't listen". I was honestly a little appalled at her attitude.

We stopped by Café Beignet during our visit to New Orleans. The setup is very casual--self-seated, easy to order, and the service was quick. The place itself could use a little extra love; trash bins were full and the overall appearance wasn't the most inviting. That said, we came here for the beignets, and they did not disappoint! Fresh, warm, and exactly what you hope for when visiting New Orleans. Definitely worth the stop if you're in town and want to experience this local staple.

But the competition was basically the same, so we stuck it out here. The beignets come in orders of 3. They're nice & fresh, warm, soft, hits the spot. They've also got turnovers, scones, muffins, & other pastries. They've got tons of coffee choices, and the coffee is strong for sure. Getting a beignet when in Nola is a must, this spot is o d of the better places to try one.

This cafe beignet has a bar inside the store. My husband went straight to get his cocktail and I went straight to get beignet. My cashier was friendly and nice. The bartender was a bit cranky tonight, I'm sure she was probably ready to be done with her shift.

We did enjoy breakfast here although the service was a bit lackluster. The coffee machine was not working so I can't really say how the coffee is. The beignets were good and fresh tasting.

Pretty high ceiling, open space, cozy atmosphere. Very friendly and patient service and great food. Beinet is also very good. It was crispy on outside and soft in the inside. Cajun hashbrown also comes with omelet and garlic butter bread. Very filling comfort food. Automatically playing piano was super intriguing. Strongly recommend and will defenitely return.

I wanted to try a different place besides Cafe Du Monde for beignets and was not disappointed! I luckily came on a Sunday so there was free street parking throughout the area but otherwise you would either have to pay for street parking or you could park in a paid outside lot or parking garage. I also liked how the area is open aired so you are able to see outside into the street and breathe in the air, but as a result of it being open little birds like to hang out in the store. There was a line to order (luckily it doesn't go out the store) and it took about 15 minutes for me to order since only one person was working at the register. I ordered the beignets and a iced caramel latte and also was able to get free water cups which the cashier allowed so I wouldn't have to buy water bottles which is what most people were doing. All of the tables they have are little round tables made to fit a max of 4 people and there wasn't much seating so I would recommend having one person order and one person get seats. Also not a fan how all of the tables were either squished into the center of the store or into one corner of the store because theres barely any space to sit. All the drinks were to be picked up at the counter and food would be brought to you. I think they had forgot to make my drink or someone took it because I had to go back up to ask for it. For my iced caramel latte it was technically just a normal iced latte with the extra $1 charge for syrup and people beware because I saw them make it and they added 8 pumps of caramel syrup which is A LOT of syrup regardless of the size of the drink. The beignets took about another 10 minutes to come out and they are huge and definitely bigger than Cafe Du Monde. Cafe Du Monde is $4.53 for one order of 3 beignets while Cafe Beignet is $4.75 for one order of 3 beignets that are 1.5x the size of Cafe Du Monde. While bigger in size, these beignets are also more on the cakier and dense side which I enjoyed but not everyone in my family cared for (Cafe Du Monde has a more chewier texture compared to this). One beignet is definitely more than enough for one person and you could probably split it in half and share with someone and still be satisfied with it so be careful to not over order. Definitely would recommend for others to try Cafe Beignet for another beignet experience in NOLA but maybe try a more spacious location.

LOVED these beignets (3 huge beignets for under 5 dollars)! The line was out the door, but it moved quickly. Great atmosphere and a beautiful bar area.

We were here on a very clear mission to eat / taste test the best beignets in New Orleans. So many friends had identified Cafe Beignet as their favorite (including some foodies at our hotel) that we felt like this was a must-eat. And yes, yes it was. You order at the counter and take a seat. They bring out your piping hot, fresh, sugary, powdery, fluffy beignets to your table when they're ready. Service was fairly quick, seating was plentiful and clean, and the quality of the beignets was quite good. They were fluffy and pillowy, and they also had a very pleasant crunch - which was fantastic. The proportion of beignet to sugar was appropriate. It was just very good overall. Would recommend, would return.
