My first cruise. Carnival Triumph. Inexpensive vacation ($800 a person for 6 days.) Ports: Cozumel & Progreso. Did the Champagne snorkel excursion in Cozumel. Progreso- not worth getting off the boat unless you do an excursion or enjoy being hassled to buy something every 2 seconds. Cruise: Great drinks (top shelf), ok-to-good food (better than an all inclusive resort in Mexico). Gotta make your own fun which we did. Small pools (surprising), nice staff, left from New Orleans. Tips: take a power strip (not enough plug-ins in cabin). Buy the drink package before you leave (it costs $130 more for 2 ppl if you purchase on the boat). Skip the WiFi unless you just have to have it (worked half the time). Download the Carnival app w/chat (5$). Spa was way too expensive even with the $50 I won the 1st day in a drawing. Also, if anyone has video of me doing the "running man" on the Capitol Bar stage in front of everyone with the cruise director, message me. Thanks.

Very clean cruise, but our room had an issue with AC for 3 nights. We had to request a fan in our room, it was about 80ﾟ, It was OK but not unbearable. The cruise ship is very clean, I really liked our Stewardess. We were sat at table 666 upstairs, and even though we didn't like our table number... We loved the men that took care of us for the are our 5 nights. They no longer have free 24 hour room service with food. The breakfast is very limited options with no type of protein dishes offered. They had a few pools but it was basically a few pools cut in half, it was very small. We did enjoy movies on the deck and the punchliner! Food looks better than it taste.

My boyfriend took me on this cruise, and it is the first and only cruise I have ever been on. I don't really know how to describe my experience other than absolutely perfect -- the views were beautiful, the experience was romantic (but also kid-friendly, if you have children), and they offered plenty to do (and drink lol). We did the 5 day cruise which went from New Orleans to Cozumel to Progreso and back to New Orleans. Super fun, very tropical and the ship is well air-conditioned, so you will never get too hot (unless you get hot outside once leaving the ship to do your excursions). Food was hit-and-miss, as another reviewer said, but generally their main entrees at dinner were always on point. Breakfast was kind of good depending on the day as well. They offer couples activities, spacious cabins, drinks, dances, comedy clubs, karaoke, and much, much more. The staff is all very friendly, too. I couldn't believe I had never been on a cruise before until now. I had the most amazing time and my boyfriend did, too. I would advise against the internet package -- it's very relaxing to unplug and be more engaged with who you are traveling with. :)

Nice clean ship. I do miss the midnight buffet, which they don't seem to do anymore. Internet packages were very expensive, and so were gym classes. However, i was surprised at how affordable the hair styling was at the salon. Food was hit or miss depending on the night. Service was friendly, attentive, and consistent. The main pool out in the main deck (near water slide) was much smaller than I expected. Shops included your usual souvenirs, necessities, jewelry, liquor, and candy shop. We enjoyed our room with a window, which was definitely a decent size and comfortable. The shows were alright, could have been better in terms of stimulation, song/music choices, singing, and comedians (husband and kids got bored during these shows). Our kids enjoyed the teen programs that kept them quite busy. Boarding and deboarding were done with ease and clear direction from staff. All in all, our family had a good time, so we would cruise carnival again!

We had a great time on our recent cruise! It was a short 4 night cruise to Cozumel. I do think that 4 nights is enough on a cruise ship for me.... anymore and I might start to get tired of the boat life (and I don't think my stomach could handle it). The food is awesome!! Especially Guy's burgers. We loved eating in the dining room every night because the waiters are so attentive, and they made us feel fancy lol. The ship provides a lot of entertainment and there are a ton of things to do. We will def. do another cruise in the future!

The Carnival Dream sails out of the Port of New Orleans on 5 day cruises to the Caribbean. For the price you could never beat the value of a Carnival Cruise. We've been cruising on Carnival since the 1980s and enjoyed every single line. Starting with the Festival, Holliday Tropicale, Conquest, Dream, Elation and now the Triumph.....

Okay...let's just start with Nola...I've visited many times but this was...not so good... the trip there , we got rear ended by some lady that tried to keep going... thank to everyone in both lanes that would not let her pass to keep going.. anyway... Carnival is smart.. they have all of the "Mudea's" working on the inside to keep you in line on your way through the on boarding process... I think I counted about 30 .... they all called you "baby" I think one of them had a switch if you really got out of hand.,, anyway, the cruise ship( which will be retired in 36 more voyages ) need to be retired , it had seen better days, we stood for an hour in our muster station, hot, sweaty and frustrated. One lady actually passed out. Then after an hour they say oh.. if you missed this one, we have an air conditioned one right after.....bye Felicia... any way... food..eh, trip eh... probably gonna look into a different cruise line... three on Carnival just might me enough for me....

First time on a cruise and it was horrible. They said it would be the vacation of a life time but it was far from. The cruise line is not baby friendly, my 11 month old had to pay the same fair as an adult, day care hours are restricted for kids under 2. We were denied the right to buy the alcohol drink package, because they said everyone in our group would have to pay the alcohol pass including the baby. The rooms are out dated. The food taste like cafeteria food. Purchases on the cruise are suppose to be tax free, but they taxed a purchase that I made. Guess service lines are extremely long, except to wait at least 45 mins before you can get help. Every thing is over priced and they are always trying to sell you something all the time. You have to pay for sodas. After 10pm you have to pay for daycare. The employees are over worked, so they walk around like zombies. The employees are not good at problem solving. There's a communication barrier, because 95% of the employees speak broken English.
