I got two tattoos from Catahoula by Dakota. The entire experience was so great! Dakota worked with me on what I wanted. They were so friendly and helpful too! & I love that they have female and non-binary artists! When I got to Catahoula, the staff was very receptive and kind. The space was super clean. & I felt so safe! There was care and attention given to all the details, which were explained to me every step of the way. 14/10 would recommend going here. Hoping to sneak my wifey down to NOLA soon(ish) to get some matching tats at Catahoula by Olivia- she specializes in smol dainty designs.

We had a party of 7 people who all came in and got small tattoos done. Including two of us got their free logo tattoo. The owner and other tattoo artists are very friendly and make a great effort to make you comfortable. Popsicles and water also!

This is the place I went to for my first tattoo and my second tattoo! The people are great the building is great I absolutely love this place! If you want a tattoo and you want it done well get a consultation here and you'll be in good hands. Also the staff here is like family. The owner helps people get their start in tattooing and teaches them "everything they know" I swear the owner, Dominic, was born with a tattoo machine in his hand and his intentionalism for cleanliness and safety is top tier.

At age 72, I just got my first tattoo from Dominic. It was a mother son matching tattoos experience. Dominic was FANTASTIC!!! It was painless, fun and he is the sweetest guy. Love my new tattoo!!!

I planned to travel to New Orleans to get a tattoo. I set up my appointment for two hours, and when I changed it to the free tattoo option, my appointment got changed to 4 o'clock on a Wednesday. Mind you, I had told Dominic that I leave early on Thursday, and that this tattoo would be the hallmark of my trip. The artist booked the appointment, However, Dominic didn't inform me that he had court on that day and that he could possibly not come into work because court could drag on for hours as it usually does. So two hours before my appointment, I get a message saying your appointment has been canceled. Your artist is not gonna be able to make it out of court. Mind you they don't ever pick up their phones and ask you to leave a message so leaving a message for me was pointless because I leave the next day and what is a callback gonna do for me? If I had canceled my appointment two hours before the day, I would've been charged because this place does not let you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment. However, it is perfectly OK for them to cancel on you two hours before your appointment when you've been building your entire trip around this occasion. A responsible tattoo artist like my tattoo artist at home would tell me I have court on Wednesday I might not be able to make it in. Would you be willing to come at a later time on Tuesday? He never did that. He booked the appointment and didn't give a damn about whether he was gonna be able to make it or not. I've never felt so disrespected and hurt by a business that I really was looking forward to working with. I would sooner go get a tattoo from a homeless person on the streets, whose needle is infested with HIV then ever go back to this shop. I own a business back home, and if I know I might not be able to be there. I let the customers know that and I take measures to make sure that my customers are taken care of.. Dominic didn't give a damn about taking care of his customer. Stay away from this shop. Especially if you're an out of towner they don't give a damn about your time. They don't give a damn about what you have to do. If you're getting a free tattoo and you're not paying, they don't give a damn whether they cancel you or not. I have never left a bad review for any business in my entire life , but I felt compelled to write and let people know that this is a disgusting way to treat your customers, and that people deserve better . If these people don't give a damn about your time and energy, don't let them touch your skin.

My fiance and I had the absolute best experience having the free logos tattooed by the owner! We had the best time talking to him. My fiance had been tattooed at the parlor before, but this was my first time and I could not be happier with the experience and how the tattoo turned out. Dominic is not only a master at his craft but also a genuine person who goes above and beyond to connect with people and give an incredible tattooing experience. We cannot wait to come back in the future to support this parlor!

I chose this place because of the name and the 5 star ratings but if I could give ten stars I would I absolutely highly recommend this place for a well drawn and custom tattoo Dominic did an amazing job on my tattoo and Jo Jo did my sisters tattoo perfectly. The coffee is the best ever it is delicious!!!

Over the moon about my experience at Catahoula Tattoo! The owner, Dominic, has been in the business for 42 years, and you can tell he knows what he's doing. Not only did my piece turn out INCREDIBLE, but the ambiance was perfect. A nice, relaxing music playlist and calming lighting all added to the experience. I have lived in New Orleans for 23 years now. I am pre-Katrina so I guess that makes me semi-local. I will be moving away fairly soon and I wanted something of NOLA to take with me. For me, it is not a fleur de lis or string of beads that reminds me of my home here. I have a beautiful pair of pink gardenia bushes in my backyard. I decided I wanted a gardenia flower tattoo on my forearm. I researched the local tatto parlors and looked at a lot of Instagram pics. I narrowed it down to 2 places. I tried to contact one artist and she did not respond. I decided to try stopping in at Catahoula Tattoo and check it out. I am so glad I did. Dom was alone in the shop and he was happy to listen to my reason for my flower and I showed him some pics that I had found. He showed me colors and combinations and helped me figure out what I wanted. I am so pleased with my choice. He was great. The store is very clean and I love all the comics and art on the walls. He did a fantastic job and it is exactly what I hoped it would be. The color is amazing and it is beautiful and detailed and delicate. I highly recommend Dom. He is an artist with incredible talent.
