I previously enjoyed the original Fantasy Tacos in Gretna so I wanted to give the New Orleans location a try. I went right when they opened and the server was courteous. I got my food to go and it was ready in approximately 20 minutes. You can also order online if you don't have time to wait. I had the jerk chicken tacos again and they were just as good as the first time I had them. My husband had the seafood fries and said they were good but a bit salty. Im happy to have a closer option because I will definitely be back!

So fantasy tacos on the Westbank has such great reviews so my family and I decided to try this location. I can sadly say I won't be back. We went for taco Tuesday. It wasn't packed though they seem to get a good bit of to go orders but service was just a little chaotic. There seemed to be one server for the whole place. She was trying to explain the specials as it wasn't all printed properly and it was just confusing. We ordered the jerk chicken tacos, the beef tacos, the fried Baja shrimp tacos, the elote and the birria egg rolls. Everything was mid. The shrimp tacos batter was too doughy and the shrimp were clearly small frozen shrimp, we didn't finish them. The beef tacos were cold and mid. The elote was barely seasoned and overly wet, seemed microwaved. The birria egg rolls were good but they didn't cut the egg roll and they gave us a little bitty thing of sauce. The waitress barely gave us any napkins, she didn't bring extra plates despite us saying we were sharing food. I ate my egg roll over a napkin and then used that basket once they brought the tacos out. The jerk chicken tacos were also good but still I wouldn't go back for them, just slightly better than the rest of what we received. It was BYOB which we did bring our own drinks. The waitress took a while to come bring us the check and then she never gave a check just came with the portable register thing so I don't fully know what I was charged for, never got receipt. Then she claimed to not know if gratuity was included already but based on price which was $60 during happy hour, I think it was. The vibe, service and food was overall lackluster. The owner may have been reaching too far too fast by opening a second location.

Tried the steak, birria and buffalo chicken tacos. The steak and birria tacos were so overwhelmingly salty my friend and I could not eat them. The amount of salt was heinous. The buffalo chicken tacos were the only bearable ones and were still mediocre. They have a no returns, no refund, no exchange policy so didn't bother to ask to get something else and just ended up throwing it all away. The bbq cauliflower were good so I recommend those. The lemonade was also delicious and staff was great but otherwise I will not be going back again as I value my blood pressure.
