This is not the worst hotel I've stayed in, but damn close!!!! The room we were assigned was unlivable. Ever walk into a room and upon opening the door knew this wasn't going to be a good experience??? Disgusting!! At the very best this is a $25/night hotel Yup, I said it! What I know of this property is I was one of two visitors, and we both had to request a different room. IYKYK!! Got up this morning and surprisingly enough, no hot water. That was what pushed into my opinion All that and I had to pay $129/+ for a Wednesday night and $199/+ for a Thursday night. I didn't book this but I'm going to be the selector for the rest of the trip!!

The rooms needs a good face lift and renovation. The iron and microwave handle was broken. Please bring plastics plates and utensils. I had to go buy 2 pots because they didn't have any cooking ware. The few dishes they had, wasn't clean. They have this one front desk older lady who wear a ponytail every day and stand right outside the entrance door smoking a cigarette, with her hand on her hip! She has a very nasty attitude and very unprofessional. The other 2 young ladies was very nice. Not a place I will recommend until it's updated and customer service training is provided to staff. Very peaceful area and comfortable beds. If they get this place together, it will be perfect!

DON'T STAY HERE! We made the mistake of booking a room here on New Year's Eve because of exorbitant prices downtown due to the Sugar Bowl the next day. We booked two rooms, spending more than $600 for one night, due to demand pricing. First off, the hotel is an old Navy barracks isolated in the middle of a former military base. There are no restaurants or other amenities within walking distance. Once you get inside, you realize there is no elevator to the second floor. So you have to haul all your bags up the stairs. When we asked for extra blankets, we were only given one, as that was all they had in stock. But the coup de grace lay in wait for us in the bathroom. In one of our rooms, the bathroom light and fan were controlled by a single switch. When you flipped it on, it turned on both the light and the fan, which emitted what sounded like the call of a strangling goose. The 80 decibels of ungodly screeching never went away, no matter how long you waited. So we were forced to use the bathroom with our iphone flashlights or the door cracked. When we complained about the situation to the front desk, the staff person merely wrote a note in her notebook. She made no attempt to accommodate us in another room or call in a maintenance person. She wouldn't even come to the room to examine the situation. The next day, we complained again to the manager. She wouldn't examine the fan either and simply smirked as I described the situation. She made no offer of a discount or refund, saying that we had the option the night before to check out and find another hotel. This option was never presented to us, but was our responsibility to request, according to the manager. I have worked in the hospitality industry for 10 years and cannot imagine treating a guest with such indifference and lack of concern. In addition, the hotel walls are thin, and there are many scuff marks on the walls and furniture, showing an apparent lack of maintenance by hotel staff. Don't stay here, whatever you do. Life is too short for bad hotels with uncaring staff and management.

This is by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I've been in hospitality/customer service my entire career. I am familiar with good customer service. First: check in: the attitude of the front desk clerk was very evident. It's as if I was disturbing her. She was in the back on the computer. I had to make my presence known before she acknowledged us. The room was ok. I knew not to expect much for the price. But I at least expect not to have to hunt down extra towels because the front desk clerk is sitting in her car instead of behind the desk. She spent more time in her car that evening than she did at the desk. Secondly, there is no housekeeping. Our room was not attended to. No fresh towels. The basic things you expect during a hotel stay. On night 2 , I had a medical situation that I needed to get back in my room immediately for. They keys did not work. Why make keys for one night if the reservation is for 2. So while I sat on the floor in the hall, my cousin had to hunt down the front desk clerk who again was in her car (putting on makeup) and had an attitude with my cousin as if she was somehow an inconvenience to her. On the morning of check out, when housekeeping finally showed up. They didn't knock or announce themselves before trying to enter the room. Luckily, I had the security lock on. After a less than pleasant check out (clerk was on the phone (speaker) no less with a family member or friend the entire time. Very unpleasant. When I realized I had left my retainer in the room after I had left the property, I called to inform them of what I left. That it was a high value item and that I would return for it within the hour. This information was never communicated with maintenance or housekeeping. Instead of putting it in lost and found, it was thrown away. I had to dig through the trash in the dumpster to try and find it. To no avail. $500 retainer gone. With not as much an apology for the inconvenience of having to Uber back and forth multiple times only to come up empty-handed. The entire staff had a miserable attitude. No one had a hospitality spirit or even the desire to do their job. This place needs an extreme overhaul. Employees need to be trained or replaced. Your job as a front desk clerk is to make the customers stay as pleasant as possible. They failed horribly. I do not recommend staying here, ever.

Very shop-worn fixtures and furniture. Multiple missing lightbulbs in room. PAPER-thin walls. Antiquated, extremely loud aircon unit (requiring intermittent doubling volume to hear tv). Lobby has ambiance of a state-funded assisted living facility. I paid under $100 a night; I guess you get what you pay for... I would rate this place less than one star, but the location was ideal for my specific needs, and they do allow pets ($20 per pet, per night).

There has been a child screaming here for 3 days and nights. I' called the front desk the other night to report this and the screaming continues. When I called again the following night, no one even answered the phone. There was no extra toilet paper provided in the bathroom of my room. I had to ask the front desk for toilet paper even after housekeeping visited my room with an empty roll. The garbage was also not emptied. This could have been a much better stay (because the accommodations are actually decent) if only staff were more diligent and focused. The front desk was often unmanned. I am so surprised to see such a lack of attention to detail considering being located on a military base.

This is a converted, old military housing complex. The rooms are basically small apts with fridge stove microwave etc. The bathrooms have the old tub shower combos. As far as price, it's very affordable and should attract budget shoppers. The rooms and staff, no problems at all. My rating is due to the fact the location utterly sucks. There is absolutely nothing around this place. I guess I'm not on happy pills or drinking unicorn milk to find taking a $10-$15 Uber ride 2.3 miles (which you can't walk due to the river being in the way) to french quarters is no big deal. $20-30 round trip, each day you're here? This is expensive compared to Houston rates. You can ride almost 10 miles for the same price, by comparison. So here it is. If you don't plan on doing french quarters and just need a place to crash, this will do. If you want the french quarters, pick another hotel.
