Overall, I had a good experience here. I stayed in a room extremely close to the front desk and could hear everything during my stay outside my door, but luckily I was too busy enjoying NOLA to spend much time there. I loved how low key cool this hotel was, cool front porch, decent bar & pizza place in walking distance, and I could tell it had just gotten redone. Good stuff mostly. Unfortunately, my room smelled like paint and didn't have a window and no other rooms were available. People working here were nice. I loved how convenient this hotel was to the street car and other cool spots around town. I would love to come back and try a different room. Thank you!

I definitely enjoyed my stay at the Historic Streetcar Inn. Very relaxing, beautiful, and charming place to rest and recharge during our recent trip to New Orleans. They were so accommodating, as I needed to store extra food/drink for my son that has food allergies. Tasty fresh coffee or loose leaf tea in the kitchen. Everything was clean, beautiful, and well stocked. Most comfy pillows I've ever slept on! Diane had several tips for us and was so helpful with any questions I had, as it was our first time to New Orleans. I was glad to find free street parking on the same block as the hotel (which is amazing and not common at all in New Orleans! Most hotels nearby charge at least $45/day for parking). St Charles is absolutely beautiful, and a nice respite from the bustle of the French quarter. Traveling with my autistic son, it was perfect for us, and I never felt unsafe day or night. We arrived late and they texted all of our info so we could go straight to our room after our long drive. So appreciative. The location is so convenient to riding the Streetcar around town. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to the area!

My husband and I are going on a cruise at New Orleans port so I saw this place at reasonable price It is a little old and dollops like its pictures but the price was right for a one night stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful yt there's no parking except on Martin Luther King which is around the corner It was nice for what we needed it for but needs some updates

The room and bathroom was clean. However, our room was closest to the street and we could hear EVERYTHING all night. From the cars/trains to every single guest who came into the inn. It was so noisy. In addition, the air conditioning did not work.

Very clean, safe location. Check in and checkout were complete contactless and simple. It was relatively quiet except that you could easily hear other guests showing and flushing the toilets. Also, our room, which was a deluxe queen, was very small and had NO WINDOWS. It was not at all like any of the pictures. The air conditioner blew directly on the bed and the motion sensor bathroom fan was extremely noisy. I was very excited to stay at this quaint inn but sadly I will not return.

Spoiler alert: Gonna go against many of the reviews posted here. This is one of those times when I'd like to gush over-the-top superlatives about my experience at this place. The Historic Streetcar Inn (HSI) deserves every single one of them I can dish out. While it's easy to spend hundreds of dollars a night for hotel rooms in New Orleans (and I have), it's not so easy to find value-priced accommodations that are comfortable and ideally located. The HSI is on St. Charles Avenue, the main drag from "downtown" (the CBD / French Quarter) up and through the fabled Garden District. HSI is close enough in you can walk to the Quarter, should you choose, but why not take one of the legendary New Orleans streetcars - they stop right outside the hotel's door! The Inn is made up of multiple victorian age homes divided up into hotel rooms. Check-in just takes a minute after you're let in the secured front door. I was in Room 11, and it was on the large side with full bath and close to the front door. Walk down the end of the hallway and there is always fresh hot premium brand coffee (Abita Roasting) and iced lemon water. There are both snack and soda vending machines. There are half a dozen eateries within spitting distance of the front door, some open very late. There is a Walgreens two blocks up the avenue if you've forgotten toiletries or need some light grocery items for your room. Bed was very soft, everything in the room worked, the lamps have plug-ins for your chargers, one had other types of plug-ins. Free wi-fi, or course. All the help I interacted with were cordial and helpful, tho I didn't have that many questions since I previously lived in the city. Kudos to Edwin for the fast, efficient checkout. Did I mention the price? Except for holidays and festival weeks, it seems it'll run you about $50 weeknights, and double that weekends. Well worth it.

I love NOLA, but would never visit again if I had to stay at the Historic Street Car Inn. First, there is rarely an attendant at the desk, and there has to be to gain entrance. Or you can go through the gate around the side, which you are told to leave open. This means anyone off the street can enter. Our room was the first room from this back entrance, with a door so warped, a stiff wind could kick it in. The staff is friendly, but when asked to have something done it will not be. For instance, we had multiple stains and multiple hairs all over sheets. The bathroom had small curly hairs all over the bathtub and hairs hanging from the towels, which had holes in them too. The lotion that was given to guests was already used, and there was a fist hole in the wall upon first entering the room. This morning we asked for new sheets and for the hairs to be cleaned. We were told it would be done. When coming back to our room, service has been done because the bed was made, but it was the same sheets, and same hairs all over the bathroom. I wouldn't stay here, even if the price was $10.

The picture is the bed in the second room we were shown. The first room did not have any working lights, very humid(even though the temp was about 60 degrees) and the wood floor was very spongy. We were shown a third room and the sheets were stained but probably cleaned stains. We were told that we were given these rooms because we booked through Hotwire and the hotel doesn't get a normal rate. Manager offered no apology for the state of the rooms. The manager would not refund our prepaid fee and would not release it to Hotwire. It's been two months and Hotwire will not refund. Other that that probably a great place to stay.

The staff was ok friendly in this older hotel. The location is perfect for being just out of French Quarter but near trolly stops and a close walk to anything you want to see. Perfect for parades; but do check the trolly schedule because sometimes the stops nearby are skipped due to events. Just know this is not a full service hotel and assume minimal service or extra amenities. You are renting a room in a historic house is more like it.
