This shop serves Po-boy a New Orleans' sandwich. But this one is just ordinal sandwich for me. I ordered shrimp po-boy and it was tasty. They required eight minutes to complete cooking it. So, if you are hurry to go, maybe other places would be better.

The crawfish etouffee was very flavorful and hot. Very delicious. The minus 1 star is due to the crawfish pocket that was still cold in the middle.

It was an unseasonably hot day (100 degrees and humid) during our recent visit. We were on our way back to the streetcar, and thence to our lodgings. My older companion was beat from the heat and needed something to eat and drink without further walking and exploring. The "food court" sign on the JAX building raised our hopes that we would find something appealing. Were I by myself, I would have departed and hunted around Decatur Street for someplace more intriguing, but given the situation, I guided my companion to a seat, scanned the menu at Hotsy's, and ordered half of a muffaletta sandwich, which we split, and a couple of beverages. A muffaletta is an New Orleans version of an Italian "hoagie" of "sub sandwich," consisting of Italian meats, cheese, and a layer of chopped olive salad topping on a special loaf of white bread that is round and soft. The sandwich turned out to be a good choice. Its size was just right for the state of our appetites (my companion LOVED it), but it seemed expensive given the restrained portion of meat, cheese and topping on the bread. The sandwich by itself earns three stars. However, its price, and the uninspiring food court choices and environment pull this down to a two star rating. Public bathrooms are available on the first floor. They were...rank.

It's not bad for decent food inside a mall. We ordered shrimp po boy $12, it's a bit pricey but the portion was huge with good fresh shrimps.

We decided to visit the food court because of a sign outside the building. This location was inside a forgotten & empty shopping mall. It was definitely off the normal beaten path, but a welcome escape from heat on the busy streets below. We received OK service. It was definitely not the most welcoming or kind, so don't expect it. Two sodas & two cups of ice = $6 Seating is food court style. The tables & chairs are past due an update.

Paid $10 to watch them spoon a glob of crawfish étouffée from plastic bin to plastic bowl, microwave it on high and then spoon another scoop of microwavable rice into the sodium ridiculed lump of "food." Served without a smile, but what else would you expect from a food court pizza/pasta/fast food shop? Did I mention the lady first moved her Nike shoes from one place to another and then pulled the stuff from the microwave? Don't be lazy; save your money, walk a few more steps and get something else.

SO SAD what's happened to JAX: & the disgusting Hotsy's is the least vile option; BEST VIEW of the river on the Square: PUT IN A TACO BELL OR POPEYES! WORST COUNTER FOOD IN QUARTER: at Jax, this is a local axiom. I had just finished a 5 mile run and despite drinking about a gallon of liquids, was feeling a little light headed so I dove into JAX Brewery to grab something quick. I got a large coke (sugar) and a cheeseburger to settle my stomach at Hotsy's. Now of course I knew it was going to be overpriced and terrible, which it was, but I kept seeing the specter of Margaret Orr waving her finger at me and scolding: "I tell you every evening on my Exactcast to HYDRATE!". But the most depressing thing to me was how much this center has fallen. Remember when Trey Yuen had a restaurant on the 3rd floor, then Pat O'Brien's? And that awesome rooftop bar with the best views of the Quarter? This is prime real estate. The 2nd floor food court has amazing seating areas overlooking the river. But for some reason this most trafficked block of the Quarter can't sustain a decent business: Morning Call, Denny's, Fashion Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Fatburger, Krispy Kreme, even Virgin Records have all gone belly-up here. It must be management or someone crossed Marie Laveau and she put the gris-gris on it 200 years ago. WAY BETTER FQ OPTIONS: get take-out from Maspero's or NOLA Hamburger Exchange and bring it upstairs to the food court. No one will care & that's the problem.

My kids got the pizza. It was pretty good for something fast. Got fresh fruit which was sweet and delicious on a very hot day. Also had a salted pretzel which was very tasty. Was more pizza dough than pretzel but it was delicious. I would say it's good for some quick food before you get on your next tour. :)
