Hyatt Place New Orleans/Convention Center is a well-situated hotel in New Orleans, LA, offering a blend of comfort and convenience for both business and leisure travelers. Located at 881 Convention Center Blvd, this hotel is just steps away from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and a short walk from the vibrant atmosphere of Bourbon Street. Established to cater to the needs of convention-goers, the hotel features standard Hyatt Place amenities, including spacious rooms, a complimentary breakfast, and a business center. Guests appreciate the friendly staff and the hotel's proximity to numerous dining options and local attractions, making it a popular choice for visitors to New Orleans.

Perfect location if you're in town for a cruise. It's in walking distance of Bourbon Street, and then in walking distance of the cruise terminal. Lots of restaurants and shops near by and lots of other hotels close by for the Convention Center. Our room was clean and cold (good!). The elevators were wonky but you get used to the idea of holding your key card for 5 second in order to grant access to your floor. Great location!!

Stayed here for a convention across the street which js one of the main reasons to stay here. Overall it was a well priced hotel that unfortunately matched the price. Staff were nice and responsive but I was disheartened to find my room was dirty (dirt on bathroom floor) and my soap dispenser for the shower was literally empty so I had to "shower" and then call for them to bring up soap (so they brought a new bottle for me). Some other pluses: complimentary self service coffee maker and complimentary breakfast downstairs at 630am in the morning which helps one start the day.

Nothing makes a night perfect in New Orleans than knowing you are staying in a great hotel. The Hyatt Place New Orleans at the Convention Center gives you that satisfaction that I needed during a busy weekend. I appreciated how effortlessly the check‑in process set the tone right away. The hotel has all of the usual Hyatt Place amenities, but the building is unique and I loved the interior lobby. The rooms are standard for Hyatt Place and have the best air‑conditioning needed to stay cool on a humid day and night. The staff are great, but a huge shoutout to the housekeeping staff who assisted me on the day of checking out. I felt genuinely cared for by their attention to detail. If you are looking to head to Bourbon Street, it is about a 15 minute walk. It is not close and not far. In fact, it was perfect for us. We will stay here again.

This Hyatt's best asset for conventioneers is its location directly across the street from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. While there are numerous hotels in the area, only 2 other hotels (Marriott Warehouse Arts District and the Hampton Inn Convention Center) are also across the street. This former warehouse area has been gentrified over the years and now has numerous restaurants, bars and galleries. The French Quarter and casino are within walking distance. Hyatt Place is the Hyatt brand's mid-tier product with more limited guest services, amenities and staffing, but includes a breakfast buffet. I've stayed at a few other Hyatt Places and the rooms look virtually identical everywhere, with mass- produced generic furnishings and identical floorplans. This particular Hyatt had no references to New Orleans within the guest rooms, although other locations do pay tribute to their location via the wall photographs/art The front desk is staffed with 2 employees maximum, often only one. No concierge, no bellmen, limited valet car service. The ground floor houses the breakfast buffet area with a mid-size seating area. There's also a 2-computer business centre and the vestiges of a "restaurant" called The Placery on the hotel's website; is has a bar and a few tables but was not in operation while I visited. There is The Market, an open fridge with grab and go items offered at a significant markup from what you'd get at the convenience store down the street. On the 3rd floor is a nice atrium which rises to all the floors above. It has seating areas and a area set up for dining. I did not immediately notice the atrium because my room was on the 2nd floor, which also houses the decent fitness centre and a laundry room (free) with a single stacked washer and dryer. There is no pool. My room was generic but functioning and comfortable. I liked the mini-fridge and corner sofa area. The bath products are of course in locked pump dispensers. The room was surprisingly and pleasantly quiet, as it faced away from the convention centre. Since the hotel only had 2 slow-ish elevators, I often used the stairwell right outside my room mentioned to be by the front desk, even though I had to walk through some staff areas. The daily breakfast was also generic and prefab, with hot foods (scrambeld eggs, sausage links or patties , potatoes and a rotation of pancakes, French toast or Belgian waffles) all seemingly prepared from a frozen state. There were fresh hard boiled eggs and fresh fruits (cut and whole). Still, is was a good start to a day full on convention activities. Staff overall was friendly. A decent and relatively economic hotel choice.

If you have a service dog, read this before booking at Hyatt properties. I booked a room through Expedia, where it clearly states that service dogs are exempt from pet fees. But when I arrived, what should've been a simple check-in turned into a shocking violation of ADA law. My service dog was clearly marked with a red harness and "Service Dog" labels--nothing hidden. At first, check-in went smoothly. But the room they gave me had a strong chemical smell, so I went back to the front desk and politely asked for a different room. That's when things took a turn. Adrianne Nattals, the front desk staff, took my key--but instead of giving me a new one, she handed me a form demanding I agree to a $75 pet cleaning fee. I told her (several times) that my dog is a trained service animal, not a pet, and under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), it's illegal to charge fees for service dogs. Her response? "A dog is a dog, and if you want the key you need to sign that you agree to the fee." I was stunned. I said I'd rather cancel my stay and get a refund so I could go somewhere that respects the law. She refused. Because I had already checked in, she said no refund--and would not give me my room key unless I signed the form. Are you kidding me? Now I was trapped: I'd paid, I had no room, no refund, and was being forced to sign something I knew was illegal just to sleep. I asked to speak to a manager because clearly they didn't know what they were doing was blatantly illegal. After 30 minutes of waiting at the desk, Adrianne said she spoke with the manager, Jennifer Jones--who instructed her to just "have me sign it anyway and go find her tomorrow to convince her to waive the fee". (Seriously???) I said absolutely not. Then it got worse: Adrianne asked me and I quote: "are you disabled?", "what is your disability?" among the usual "what kind of service does the dog provides? Let me be clear: that is a direct violation of federal law. I had to answer specifics about my disability to these two people, in order to give me the key to my room. I have been in several Hyatt Places, in fact, it is my preferred hotel to stay at.. but the Hyatt Place - New Orleans/Convention Center, now has changed my perception of the brand. PS. The elevators barely work - certificates of operations should be displayed to the public and not "on file" The mini fridge on my room was leaking, I just didn't want to deal with your rude ignorant staff anymore.

The only positive about this hotel is that it's close to the convention center. The bathroom toilet does not flush properly, there is coffee in the room, but no coffee maker, the tissues in the bathroom was wet inside the box upon her arrival. The building is in serious need of a facelift. Decent price, but I wouldn't stay here again.

I stayed at the Hyatt in New Orleans on August 17th before boarding a cruise, and this experience was far from what I expect from Hyatt. First, when we arrived, we had to wait for our room to be ready. My partner and I sat in the lobby with all of our luggage facing the front desk. No one notified us when the room was available. It wasn't until I walked up to the counter myself that I was told it was ready. Considering staff could clearly see us waiting, it would have been a simple courtesy to let us know instead of leaving us sitting unnecessarily. Later that evening, we were unable to get any rest because of a loud event on the 3rd floor of the hotel. I complained to the front desk, and the only response I received was that "quiet hours begin at 10 PM." This is completely unacceptable. Guests book hotel rooms to rest, not to endure loud event noise until management decides it's convenient to enforce quiet. At no point was an apology, accommodation, or solution offered. Between the lack of communication at check-in and the inability to sleep due to noise, this stay fell far short of Hyatt's reputation for professionalism and hospitality. I hope upper management takes this feedback seriously, because this experience was extremely disappointing.

I chose the Hyatt Place because it was a short walk to my meetings at the convention center. The hotel is clean, rooms spacious. Hotel is also quiet. You don't hear people talking in the hallways. Staff is pleasant. If you want daily maid service, request it from the hotel. They will honor it. The bed was firm enough that I had a good night's sleep. Breakfast is ok. No pancake machine or bacon. The kitchen staff provides waffles and pancakes each day. This is one of the better hotels. I would definitely stay here again.

For those headed to a New Orleans conference, or if looking for something away from the madness, this Hyatt Place will check the boxes. First box: roll out the door and across the street to be at the convention center. Great you made it right? Not hardly. Walk that extra half-mile to that one door unlocked to find your exhibition hall. But think about how far you'd be if you didn't start across the street. Box 2: clean, functional rooms. You get the standard amenities to assure you're rested (provided you get in at a decent hour--haha). I must be some type of high-roller as the corner room seemed huge with a couch and sink/fridge. Third box: free lobby coffee that tasted decent daily. Glad not to have to stand in a line to pay for something like that. And a good tea selection for all who place importance on that (my wife). Minus .25 star for underwhelming breakfast that maybe exists? I wouldn't know since every morning my Eastern Time body rolled out the door at 7 without a breakfast roll in sight. Box 4: 20+ restaurants within a couple blocks, so you'll not want for caffeine, carbs, cold ones, Cabernet, and catfish. You can also walk to French Quarter in 25-30 mins. Just be careful stumbling around past midnight. I had a chance to judge it for an extended stay, and while it lacks the frills of those willing to drop double/triple per night for a room, this spot was good enough to warrant a return visit. Maybe next time those conference meetings will be on this end of the building.

Service was five stars. The hotel.... Five star service to the front desk person who moved us from the first floor/street level and view room that we did not request to a higher level floor. Can definitely hear the street noise as the cars pass by the rooms on the ground floor. Five star service to the kind handyman who tried to fix our air conditioning unit after the room was still 80 degrees after being on for an hour. Old A/C units in an old hotel. Apparently they are slowly changing them to new units as they renovate the hotel. Five star service to the kind front desk person who notated the concerns about the leaky faucet in the shower and the broken A/C unit. Used towels to dampen the sound. Hopefully the room will be fixed before the next guest checks in. Five stars for still having thankyou rates available. A very unimpressive grab and go breakfast is available. Coffee, hot water and one box of hot tea bags available. A brown cardboard box is filled with frozen bagels and sausage, egg and cheese bagel sandwiches. Microwave and toaster near the pot of coffee and hot water. Cans of juice, granola bars, cereal and oatmeal are also options. Parking is $35 a night plus tax. Location is across the street from the convention center. Would not stay here again, unless it was for a meeting or other event.
