I love a good Poke bowl and Kais offers some good selections. My friend said building her own bowl required too many decisions so she selected one of the chef's creations. I am too picky so I built my own. We were both very happy with our choices. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The amount of food for the price was good. The bowls came up quickly. And you can pre-order online if you need to. Also they have a vegan option with tempura and tofu!

Back again and my review is still 5 stars. I've been to several other poke places and I always feel ill afterwards but not here. This is how I know their food is fresh. To me their poke bowl is the best I've ever eaten!

Located in Pythian Market on Loyola, Kais is a quick service poke/sushi restaurant. They have preset poke bowls as well as a build your own bowl option. The steps to build your own bowl are clearly labeled and easy to follow. I chose to build my own bowl. For $14, you get two choices of protein. I got the ahi cubes and spicy ahi with an assortment of toppings (cucumber, edamame, ginger, masago and furikake). You are also able to select two sauces. I got the Kai's sauce and ponzu. The spicy ahi had a good kick to it and is prepared lomi style. I actually really liked it! The ahi cubes were okay but didn't have a lot of flavor to it. I couldn't taste the ponzu at all. I wish poke places here mixed the fish with the sauce and toppings. I also hope to see some more traditional poke mix-ins. While this isn't like poke bowls you would find from Hawai'i, it is nice to have a healthier option close to work. Kai's is great for a lighter meal packed with veggies in the downtown area! The sushi looks amazing so I'll definitely be back to try that.

Plus $1.50 for old avocado... No, thank you. Given fresh ingredients are key for poke bowls, I am now questioning the quality of all ingredients used. Old avocado aside, this place is at best OK. I have found better quality poke in grocery stores.

Literally so good!!! The woman who owns it is just so sweet and the service is so fast. It's also one of the only places in the market that takes cash, a lifesaver!! I 100% recommend for anyone looking for an amazing poke bowl

I am very excited i found this place. Their poke is very good and i was able to order exactly how i wanted it since i am doing Keto. Good tasting poke with super fresh ingredients and extremely friendly staff. It's located in an indoor food cart type place and a very good ambience.
