Jesiah was such a great manager who accommodated most of my needs. Very friendly and easy to talk to. Dorms were super clean and comfy overall 10/10

The staff - attentive and entertaining/sociable. The home is clean. Maintained. Nice HOT water, laundry facilities, breakfast and dinner (some nights). The treats were great. Neighborhood guidance. The over all experience was great. In NOLA? Stay here, it's a home away from home.

This is the best of the four hostels I've tried in NOLA. The location is fantastic - you can walk to the music clubs on Frenchmen Street in less than ten minutes, most of the businesses in the quarter are only a little farther, and a few more good eateries are within a block or two. The Faubourg Marigny neighborhood has some classic residential architecture and feels safe. The group activities were fun, although the pub crawl in the Quarter was a bit haphazard. There is a breakfast included though you also have the option of the excellent Ruby Slipper Cafe five minutes away. The private room is one of the best I've found in any hostel anywhere. Cool employees and three cats hanging around too.

I enjoyed my stay at Madame Isabelle's. There are private rooms, all female dorm rooms, and mixed dorm rooms. I stayed in a 5-person mixed dorm, which had three guys. The rooms have private storage locker. Everyone in the hostel was friendly. They have staff and volunteers constantly cleaning the place. The hostel has a hot tub, kitchen, dining and living room. They serve free breakfast (bread, bagels, spreads, boiled egg, oatmeal, bars, and sliced ham) every morning between 8-11am. The hostel staff like to interact with the guests. They plan group activities, i.e., jambalaya night and bar nights. If you need to do laundry, they charge $5 per load. One complaint I have is that the showers are terrible. The pressure was extremely weak and it took a while for it to get hot. It is located in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood, but also near the French Quarter. Pretty much all over this area, the parking has a two-hour time limit between 7am to 7pm. Someone told me there was unlimited parking a block away, but I didn't find it. Free wifi.

Our stay was nothing short of exceptional. The staff and owner were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable of the city. We stayed in a private room. It was very clean. The decor was warm and inviting. The home was old and rich with character. If we visit New Orleans again, we will stay here. There is a Banksy original on the street corner about 50 paces from the front door. A rare and beautiful piece of artwork. One of the few remaining in New Orleans.

Beautiful hostel! I've stayed in one before which was an experience with no complaints and I liked this better. Staff: they're available often and all super chill and helpful. They gave me new towels at every request with no trouble and my plane left at 6, they let me stay around the house and leave my bag in a staff closet until I was ready to go. FREE OF CHARGE. Thank guys. The hot tub is truly a thing and my friend and I got to use it all to ourselves both times. The shower in the room was really beautiful. Probably lower pressure than some like but I was fine with it. I had shower shoes but wouldn't feel totally gross without them. They have a backyard with seating and a porch with more nice lounge chairs. There's a cat! Doesn't hang out much but I was honored to get a single pet in my last day. The room we were in was connected but split in 2. So we were in the female 8 bed but kinda had only 2 roommates which was nice. There's AC, fridge, and microwaves in the room. Didn't partake in the breakfast but the kitchen has a lot for you to make use of if you want. Thank you to the staff. Y'all were great and I was really glad we chose you. Great location too!

A couple friends and I were in town for a conference and the hosting hotel was booked full. I thought this would be a nice experience to stay in this adorable hostel near the French Quarter. The staff are super friendly, providing us with a tour of the hostel and all the important information about our stay. We had a private room with a queen bed and a double bed and shared a bathroom with the 8-person dormitory next door. Breakfast consists of granola bars and bread for toast. So we went elsewhere for breakfast but the coffee was great! They also do a lot of great things for those staying. Keg night, bar crawl, tours, affordable community dinner. I wish we had more time to be involved in the community events at the hostel. Some perks include free wifi, provided linens, an adorable cat that greets you as you come and go, a jacuzzi, and smoke-free environment (they do have a smoking room in the back for this that still want to enjoy that). Parking isn't as huge of a problem as I expected. Near the hostel its resident parking from 7am-7pm with 2-hour allowed street parking during those hours. You can find free parking nearby to leave your car during the day. I didn't sleep super well in the private bedroom. I expected some noise given that it is a hostel and I'm sharing with other tourists. But the position of the room above the lobby and front yard meant that people congregating in those areas or coming and going at 3am was very noisy. There is no curfew and they provide keys for you to access the building at all times.

A quick note. I aim to rate accomodation, not experience: you can have the best times in the worst places, and vice versa - it usually depends on the people you meet. I prefer hostels for their social atmosphere and of course also include a hostel's effort to create such. Regarding that, Madame Isabelle's was such a welcoming place. Staff is super-friendly and mostly they're fellow travellers who decided to stay a bit longer. The location is close, but not too close, to the craziness of the French Quarter. House itself is beautiful, the architecture feels very alluring. Cozy rooms, though a little creaky, and it gets hot in the night. Awesome spacious patio and backyard with a hottub - best place to hang, you might get too comfortable there even. Breakfast is very basic, but coffee's my most important morning meal anyway. Music night, Jambalaya night and the other activities offered are a fun, relaxed way to socialize and explore NoLa. Overall, I felt very comfortable and would've liked to stay longer. They even welcomed me back for drinks after I checked out and stayed in another part of town.
