This is a beautiful production, it is comparable to any of the shows I've walked for in New York and Milan, Tokyo, etc. Gorgeous world class venue, hot up-and-coming designers at the most beautiful time of the year in New Orleans..

Thrilled that NOLA hosts such an amazing event, we enjoyed listening to Amanada Shaw, such an amazing artist. The runway models were great. The talent that was displayed by those designers showed thru the models march. The event was held at the Monastery on Rampart street. The event was well attended. Looking forward to next year's event.

This was such a great time!! I was lucky enough to score tickets to this through the magic of Yelp and it was fun being among the "beautiful people". Outside, there were a lot of different vendors including tables that were selling hats and fascinators, jewelry and fancy ties and pocket squares for men. Re was doing a great job of representing Yelp at the Yelp table and people were able to vote on their favorite designer. I headed in as I waited for Deborah, my plus one, and I was told by an official person that we could sit in the front row VIP section. Score! We were right on the side of the runway, sitting next to the judges, so we had one of the best views in the house as all of the fashion came down the catwalk. Deborah and I had a good time doing some "judging" of our own and commenting on all of the designs. We both agreed that Brik Allen had the best looks and he ended up winning the design competition AND the Yelp people's choice competition! So, I guess we have some pretty good taste. The one tiny bummer was that the food and drinks were a bit expensive, but it wasn't earth shattering because I didn't come to eat or drink. It would have been nice if they would have offered some free non-alcoholic drinks, however. Oh well. If you have the opportunity to check out any of New Orleans Fashion Week, you definitely shouldn't hesitate. Thank you Yelp and Morgan for the hook up!

This is not a safe environment for young people trying to learn about the industry. It's a cash grab by the founder Tracee Dundas, charging designers to participate, attendees to pay steep ticket costs, and yet none of the models or artists get paid or even fed. It's a travesty and needs to be shut down.

Fashionistas put on a HAUTE TREAT for New Orleans Fashion Week 2016! The show was held at New Orleans Board of Trade, which was a perfect venue for fashion forward individuals to showcase their work in the Top Designer Competition. I was able to sit in the front row with fellow Yelper and fashion enthusiast, Marielle (thanks so much for inviting me)!!! Serendipitously, we also sat right next to the NOFW5 Top Designer winner, Kristine Pichon, as well as the two other judges - Countess Bonnie Broel (of the historic House of Broel Mansion) and Lesley White (of Gucci and Hemline)! It was SO much fun watching the show that I felt like I was Heidi Klum on Project Runway! I loved seeing the various design aesthetics, the tailored construction, and the innovative silhouettes walk the runway. Designer Brik Allen of Haus of Brik won the Yelp People's Choice Award and the overall Top Designer Competition, which was well deserved given his incredibly ambitious tailoring and creative fabric manipulation. If you're interested in fashion, an experience runway-side at New Orleans Fashion Week is a must!
