"Being female has played a large role in the strategies that I adopted." - Phyllis Jordan According to Phyllis, she wasn't always invited but she attended meetings and dinners to advance and promote her brand. Her boldness and determination paid off. In parts of the country, PJs is a household name. It's where you get coffee in New Orleans and beyond. Advice for other young female entrepreneurs? Don't give up. Be your own best advocate. "Sometimes the best thing to do is to just ignore it when you are being ignored and keep moving forward. Pretend those barriers don't exist and keep doing what you need to get done." - Phyllis Jordan. An advocate during Women's HERstory Month. For coffee get a classic like a cafe au lait or a seasonal specialty like a pralines and cream latte. Don't drink coffee? The chai tea latte is so delicious. As far as food, it now looks and tastes like processed Starbucks. Would not recommend the croissants which seemed a bit stale. Good for a cup of coffee or tea, but get your pastries elsewhere if you have time.

I love PJ's Coffee and have been to the Canal location so many times on my visits. This PJ's was the closest to my hotel but didn't serve up any of the friendliness that other location has on my visits. There was no one ahead of me in line and only one guy waiting for his drink to be completed. The friendly barista was talking with the customer service person, and I get it; people need to finish a conversation. But my "good morning" was met with a look of derision, and then when I ordered a breakfast sandwich the look got even more judgemental. Nah, there are other PJ's and other businesses, nobody needs this.

PJ's is my only go-to iced mocha, I stop at this location every morning! I love the people working at this location. I have noticed in the past 2 months that there seems to be little or no AC inside the coffee shop. This is driving away customers, especially those who want to sit and work inside this downtown location. The heat index outside today is 115 degrees and little to no AC inside is not sustainable. The owners really need to fix this issue or all of their customers will go to another coffee shop with AC during the summer! Please fix now!!

Coffee was good, location was great, and the staff was... well, neutral. I was in the area for an event, and needed a coffee first and was served my medium coffees quickly and without any need for coffee shop lingo. I will say the outside seating is a plus, and the bathrooms were clean. The coffees we had were really hot and they use insulated cups so they stayed that way too.

My favorite spot for a lunchtime pick-me-up. I adore this cute little PJ's on Poydras. It happens to be a walk away from my workplace downtown and I often visit for a quick muffin bite or to get some of their refreshing lemonade! Service is typically pretty speedy and I love the area near the back with lounge seats and funky art. This spot is great to grab coffee before work, chill during your lunch break, get a little work done on your laptop or chat with a friend.

If I could leave a negative star review I would.. this one specific barista never fails to completely botch my order. The other day I ordered the club sandwich and instead she gave me a roast beef sandwich that was cold in the center. I don't even eat roast beef but I just let it go. Today I ordered the ham, egg and cheese bagel. First she gave me a plain croissant. I told her no I would like the bagel. She then gave me a ham and cheese croissant. I said ma'am I would like the ham, egg and cheese bagel. She told me that they didn't have bagels on the menu while I'm in the midst of looking directly at it on display. I pointed to it and she said "ohhhhh". Finally she gave me my bagel and I walk all the way back to my work building just find out it only had ham on it. When I walked back to get the correct order she was so rude. She put my bagel together as messily as she could and practically threw it at me. When I went to check it before leaving it was cold in the center as expected and this time I didn't have ham on it. Just egg. She looked at me as if I bothering her, I just wanted the food that I paid for. The food that this place advertises on their menu. I eventually asked for a refund because I had to get back to work and had already wasted my entire lunch break attempting to order one sandwich. I don't even think I got my refund. This girl is beyond incompetent. Not sure her name, but she is a black female with glasses. I've been a barista and worked in the service industry many many times. It's really not rocket science.

I have worked near by this location for over 5 years and I have held back leaving a review because this is only one location in a sea of many. This is not the first time a barista just looks at me, rolls her eyes at me, looks at me with contempt. Over the years the cleanliness has declined as well. I have seen things in the lobby and walked out. Not things that are beyond their control. They might only mop once a year. This area is full of professional workers, people visiting, it's across from the dome and it's despicable that PJs continues to hold on to this piece of real estate despite repeated complaints from customers. It's clear that PJs does not care about the reputation of the brand. This is why I am so upset. After so many complaints and reviews, they will not step in and intervene. Another local coffee brand can move in and make a lot of money and be a place we look forward to going to. I have heard they have trouble finding help. Well where is the owner? Fix it or close it and give the real estate to a business who will do right by it.

Worst location in the city. The lady behind the counter was the most inhospitable person I've ever met. She made The Whole experience very uncomfortable. She was extremely rude. It made me feel like she absolutely hated her job. Or maybe she just hated herself and her life choices. It's really sad because the food there was absolutely delicious..

I work in the bldg. attached to PJ's. I stopped getting the egg bites last week because for the 3rd time the barista served them to me FROZEN. Today I got a large granita and by the time I got back to my desk the whip was melting and I only had half of a drink. $7 bucks and a tip and I have barely a drink! I've had to ask for my order as I've been left standing like I didn't just pay only to be served cold food. And why can't you use points on a size large? The service sucks and so does the product. I'm done being ripped off and giving my money away. I've loved PJ's since the 90's....long time but this location is off my list. If you don't like your job, stay home.

Cute, convenient coffee place. I like how this shop is decorated and the staff was nice and mostly on top of things. I was surprised that they don't open until 7am, being a coffee seller in the CBD. I ordered 3 coffees and 3 muffins and it was $29, kinda pricey in my opinion. We were not impressed with the muffins....they tasted overdone with a slight burnt taste and dry. They forgot about 2 of our muffins and we had to ask for them, at which point the cashier asked to see our receipt (they never gave us one), luckily the other staff remembered hearing us order them. So get a receipt!!! Also, you will only be able to use restroom if you have the code on bottom of receipt.
