Absolutely incredible establishment. A bit out the way, the roads are a bit rocky but you're in New Orleans, you're used to that. The property is beautiful with so much potential to become even more, as if it even needs to. I'd kill for outdoor dining under the oaks in the future(in case anyone is listening.) The Good: I'm a huge Duck connoisseur. I've probably eaten every duck dish in the city, with my favorites being the Smoked Duck at Clancy's and the Duck with Blueberry sauce at Vincent's. That being said, the Duck Confit here is the best in the city. I had the variant with muscadine grapes and country ham and every bite was unbelievable. - 10/10 The smoked beets appetizer as well? Masterclass. I'd come here and order 3 orders of this. - 10/10 The poached shrimp and citrus was exceptional. I do not particularly love fennel, so one of my tests of a great establishment is if they can incorporate fennel into a dish and make me like it. They did it here, Shrimp were super fresh and the quality of the herbs made every bite a different super-coherent but surprising based on what you got more or less of. -10/10 The blueberry hand pies are amazing. Super flaky pastry, delicious filling, and some of the best ice cream I can remember having. Nothing transcendent, but very very good execution of a hand pie - 9/10 The Bad: Not a whole lot. If I had one critique of the meal, it was with the Gumbo. I thought the flavors were very good, and while I personally love how dark the Roux was I can see a lot of people not being a fan. It is extremely dark, and could definitely be controversial. While I thought the gumbo was great, I have to say I found the quality of the Andouille in the Gumbo lacking. It was very dry, almost crumbly, and really lacked any noticeable flavor and just didn't add much to the dish. I really am saying this as a byproduct of how absolutely incredible everything else was, this didn't feel like it fit the quality of the establishment and was noticeably a lower-quality ingredient. That being said, the side of potato salad and the pickled okra were amazing touches as well. In all, I'd give the gumbo: - 8/10 (Gumbo is gumbo guys)

What a dreamy location! You sort of think you're lost as you drive through an older suburban neighborhood to get there. And once you're on the property, you can't believe it. The oak trees are stunning and the former house is beautiful. THEN you get to the food and it's just delicious. I went for brunch and had the most perfect French omelet. I can't remember when I've had eggs so soft. I enjoyed my salad and mimosa as well. I can't wait to go back!

I'm a sucker for a decor and setting like theirs, but even an infatuation with that didn't help overcome its deficiencies. The service was very bland. We briefly interacted with one person, who was friendly and talkative; our actual server was more nonchalant than a professional poker player. The only plus came from her wine recommendation, but it's hard to mess that up when most of their wines are old-world and their plates are deep in flavor. Don't miss out on the crab salad. The fruit pies with buttermilk ice cream were the best desserts I had on my trip. A lot of their menu is missing that extra touch that would distinguish them from spots you can find in other major cities. Maybe if they fully accepted their southern identity, they'd shine just fine. Oh and a little enthusiasm from the service side of things wouldn't hurt either.

Welcome to Saint Claire, Algiers newest fine dining experience. I hurriedly made reservations for 4 of us to have Brunch their opening weekend. We parked in a non convention way in the circular drive and made our way to the house. Upon entering we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. The interior is beautifully decorated, each setting dressed in vintage silver and tea cups of varied patterns. Gorgeous. We started with both biscuits and the baguette which came out with soft butter and fresh made confiture (similar to jam). The baguette was literally piping hot. Both choices were superb. Everyone ordered cocktails, but I can only speak for my delicious Bloody Mary and my friend's Corpse Survivor(lovely lemony) which were both heavenly. I had the Lamb meatballs with grits and to say they were so delicious is quite an understatement. Maybe super duper delicious would be more accurate. Everyone really enjoyed their choices making "mmmmm" sounds with each bite. and yes, we'll try the desserts too, fresh peach hand pies and a chocolate mousse type selection. We left so satisfied and ready to conquer the world, instead of heading home for naps. I don't often think about dining experiences all day and the next day. I did this time. A beautiful location, wonderful staff and the most memorable meal is a stunning start for Saint Claire. Thank you Saint Claire, sending you big energy. Better make my next reservation, before the crowds start coming.

What an amazing place! The outdoor screened in porch transports you out of the city and into a warm hug! We loved the ambiance, food and decor! can't wait to go back when the weather cools down and enjoy a fall-like night on the back patio and see what delicious menu items they create!

Charming and welcoming once inside. it's in an overall odd but beautiful location . Obvious talent in the kitchen but I don't quite understand the NYT review and rating. It deserves recognition but it is no where near one of the best dining experiences in the country. There was nothing that we had that was extraordinary. Good but not extraordinary You are encouraged to share things from the top of the menu. We shared the crab salad at $32 and the fried eggplant. The eggplant was fried to perfection..not greasy and light. The crab meat was simply tasteless and like the eggplant the portion size was ridiculously small with barely a bite for two people. The gumbo is hearty and tasty but not the best in the area by any stretch..and again not much more than a cup. The gnocchi and crab meat had a very tasty sauce but was otherwise pedestrian and ridiculously small portions. The ciabatta bread and accompanying butter and fig jam were fresh and very good. The hand held blue berry pie and ice cream was done well. Service was friendly and professional. However, to charge grand restaurant prices I would like to get grant restaurant service. That didn't happen. Perhaps in time they will meet the expectations that being rated in the nyt would give them. They are not there yet.

Oh Saint Claire, what can I say... I haven't stopped thinking about our meal since- I feel bad for my family having to hear me yap about it. The food was beyond phenomenal and the atmosphere was so homey and cute. 10/10 and could not recommend more. ONE critique- I wish there was more reservation availability but I understand why there's not- don't expect to come and rush out. It's truly an experience and should be enjoyed slowly

Been to the chef's other restaurant, Mosquito Supper Club, many times and always loved it. However, Saint Claire lacked in every aspect where MSC excelled. I went with a group and was served a very underwhelming tasting menu. Service was average and dinner was slow. You expect to be "wowed" at a price of $150/per person. Instead it was basically one item of several things like beets and lamb meatball - that you may not even enjoy - served over several hours. Will go back to MSC but not Saint Claire
