What a wonderful first experience on the St. Charles Streetcar Line. I'm from Philadelphia and it reminded me so much of the old trolley line into Philly that used to be so popular. On the St. Charles, I rode all the way from Carrollton to Canal Street and I was greeted by our operator, who was busily getting the car ready for the new riders. He had driven all the way up from the French Quarter and was cleaning up the seats when I boarded. He was very thorough, wiping down seats, etc. as he repositioned them facing the opposite way for the return trip back. He even removed bubble gum from one of the seats in a way that told me had done so many times before and clearly took great pride in not only driving the car back and forth but preparing it for his new riders on the return trip. On that first trip I not only met many New Orleanians, but others from far away, including travelers from Thailand and the U.K.! How wonderful to meet my fellow travelers from even further away than I had traveled. I loved seeing all the halloween decorations, even on some of the very old and very expensive homes. The skeleton house was my favorite! I will very much look forward to coming back to New Orleans to ride it again. I also wanted to point out how helpful customer service was. I'm a senior rider and had found out about the discount rider program - but turning it on way not very intuitive. Customer service was not only helpful, but friendly and knew exactly what information I needed. Totally recommend them for any questions other riders might have. Thank you for providing this wonderful transit system, the beautiful old streetcars and the courteous and helpful customer service agents to guide us along the way. I'll be back to use it again, to be sure!

If you're ever in New Orleans this is a must to do, take the St.Charles Streetcar Line, this is a great way to some of NOLA really cheap. The NOLA St.Charles Streetcar Line is historic plus this the oldest stil working streetcar in the world, It run from the French Quarter to up towns and neighborhoods, passing gorgeous homes and manstions, the line is known for its dark green cars, which date back to the 1920s. You will hear this streetcar before you see it, it runs 24/7 7days a week, it is $1.25 each way or you get the jazzy pass for unlimited rides for .80 ifn your age is right, this was truly fantastic experience, there are about five different streetcars here also continuousy running, Canal Street Line, Riverfront Line, Rampart & Claude Line. We only road two streetcars, they both were clean, both conductor was nice and friendly...A big shout out to Streetcar Sue.

It's all been said before and here it is again. A step back in time, the rattle of the streetcar, the breeze coming in and the characters you meet, all the lines are magical but St Charles through the Garden District more so. Get your Jazzy pass app - don't bother the drivers with cash and hop on board. A great way to see the houses during Halloween. "Don't you just love those long afternoons in New Orleans when an hour isn't just an hour - but a little piece of eternity dropped into your hands"

The line is a popular way to see iconic New Orleans neighborhoods and landmarks like Audubon Park & the universities. We bought a house for the day, but unfortunately many street cars were full and we stood in the sun waiting for the next one.

This is an easy way to get outside the main drag of NOLA for next to nothing. Takes you out past the garden district and Tulane. Hop on and off for some drinks along the ride. Get the RTA day pass for $3. Can't go wrong. Super cute

To the locals, it's just transportation but for me it feels like a flashback to another time. Just like taking a but but cooler and have their own lanes so they handle traffic and cars differently. They carry a lot of passengers all day long but they tend to stay very clean. And a great way to get to places; especially like us when we visit town. We stay in CBD or French Quarter but love taking the St Charles Streetcar to visit Audubon, Magazine Street and Garden District. The only dilemma is the over crowding during certain times of the day; sometimes the streetcar will be so overpacked that it'll pass right by a group of people waiting to get on but too full (I say, that's when UBER comes to the rescue).

My friends and I chose to take the St. Charles Streetcar for an afternoon, partly to get out of the rain, and partly to take us around to see other spots in the area. The St. Charles Street Car goes through the garden district past many lovely mansions and through historic neighborhoods and near famous cemeteries. On our way out of downtown, the car was not crowded at all, but on the way in, it was very crowded. I had thought that it was more of a tourist car, but it serves tourists and commuters alike. I saw several students from the nearby university, as well as many professionals. The streetcar is old and seems to take a bit of skill to drive. It makes lots of creeks and sounds, but that is all a part of the charm. It costs $1.25 to ride the car. The trick is that it is exact change only. Our group of 4 was scrounging change and the driver was a bit short with us for taking a long time to pay. Additionally, I saw several people unaware of this policy asking passengers for change. I also saw the driver kicking people off for not having exact change. All in all, it is an interesting experience and takes you to some important sights, but have that $1.25 ready to go!

It has been operating for more than 150 years making it the oldest continuously operating streetcar in the world We found it to be very reliable and convenient. We took it to the French Quarter and back and enjoyed the views during the ride. It's nice that the windows open up so you can enjoy some fresh air - there is no air conditioning. I imagine it gets hot during summer months, but the weather was lovely while we were there. The Le Pass app makes it easy to purchase and show your ticket to get on.

Easy way to travel through town. Not necessarily the fastest but definitely the easiest and the prettiest. I can get things done while on the car or I can just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride and the scenery.

Unfortunately this was the worst experience during our trip. This was our first time to New Orleans and wanted to experience riding the street car. When getting on we asked how much and I was immediately attacked with a nasty attitude "you aint even ready" and when I told her that it was our first time she replied, " whats that mean"?!? We got on and could not even enjoy the experience because I was so shocked and then got so pissed about how we were treated. Could have been a great experience. The driver was a bald headed older lady. We will never be back! Ive traveled many places and many cities and have never had people be so damn rude! its unnecessary! She needs to find a new job! I cant imagine treating people like that at my job, Id be terminated IMMEDIATELY!
