i was staying at this hotel and decided to try out a new dish from NOLA that I've never had before. The dish was the Bayou BBQ Shrimp. It was louisiana shrimp tossed in a spicy bbq sauce with 3 grilled pistolettes. I didn't know what pistolettes were so I googled it. They had pictures of the food so I decided to try it out. The pictures I saw were not what I received but it was something new and I was excited to try it. The shrimp was good and the sauce was amazing. It was a bit hard to eat because of how the bread was cut but in the end, this dish was good but I don't know if I would order it again because I didn't like how the bread was stacked with the items at the very top. The sauce and shrimp was amazing and would love to eat that with pasta or on a steak or chicken. The price was high though for this item as they were not very big items for the $24.37 price I paid.

While waiting to check into my room, I decided to check out the restaurant here. The wait for food orders were over a 40-minute wait, so I just grabbed a drink. The bartender was nice and held good conversation while still attending to other customers. I decided on something simple as a French 75. It had a tangy sweet taste from the lemon. She was not skimping on the liquor, so I felt nice after a few sips. I heard good things about the food but didn't get the opportunity to try it.

The thing that stood out to me about The Clarinet was the King Cake flavoring; I had that flavor in an iced latte every single morning we were in NOLA and it was just what I needed to start my day. I love the fact that the decoration is the actual front of a street car. Every time we ordered, the staff were polite and made our coffee fairly quickly which was super convenient. Even if we don't stay at the Holiday Inn next time, I'll still make sure to stop by The Clarinet.

When my wife and I arrive in New Orleans we got a shuttle that took us to downtown were our hotel the Holiday Inn superdome it's very close to the superdome and great restaurants and venues in this area. We were very hungry from the trip the person who help us check-in told us there's a bar/restaurant called the Clarinet in the hotel we decided to try it out. We step in the restaurant we were seated right and waitess hand us the menu I decided to a New Orleans classic called the Sazerac and Eloise order a Sprite. They we order my wife order cheeseburger with pub chips then I order the Shrimp Po'boy another New Orleans classic with pub chips. The waitess brought our food I was very impressed how the Po'boy suppose to be delicious good. One bite with so much flavors that this classic you want more especially the bread it sofe and airy the bread is make by Legendary bakery in New Orleans that Shrimp Po'boy so I need try it again. The pub chip was amazing good my wife enjoy her cheeseburger she told me she enjoy the Gumbo soup it was so good so much flavors in on soup. Then we order dessert bread pudding is was so good we enjoy very much.

This is our hotel bar/restaurant. We went down a couple of times. Between Amy and Ingrid we had some of the best drinks of our trips. Amy made the best old fashioned I had all week, and Ingrid made an amazing lemon drop. Amy made a great lemon drop also, according to my friend. The food is very good too.

I would give the overall experience 2 stars. It was a party of me, just me and my friend, and we were just trying to pass time after checking out. We were kindly greeted by the host and quickly sat. Then the server greeted us with a lukewarm greeting, as in wasn't warm but at least said hello. Leon (servers name) kind of knew the menu items but we all forget things so that was just. hiccup. We ordered our food and waited. The server brought the appetizers then asked what we ordered for our meals, so clearly he forgot to ring them in. Must of been because he made a comment about how hungry we were (in other words ordering a lot of food for two) . After looking at the time, noticing the table after us got their food, and the server somewhat admitting to forgetting to ring in our food, we kindly asked for the items to be removed and for the check as our uber was going to be here in about 15-20 minutes. The server walked away without any words spoken and yells from the kitchen door to the staff "never mind on those items, the table doesn't want it anymore." We laughed it off but not even 30 seconds later the lady in the kitchen came to the door way and just stared. This is complete unprofessional as we only cancelled because Leon failed to ring in our food in a timely manner. Speaking back on the appetizers, it tasted like off brand frozen food that was under fried and thrown on a plate of soggy lettuce. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and mac n cheese bites. Overall, not a good experience staff wise or food wise. It was not busy, maybe 3-4 tables here, around 10 people max. So none of this was expected or appreciated. There is plenty of food places in the area that would be well worth the short walk! I hope this review helps those visiting the area.
