Very unhappy with my recent rental experience. Reserved a Tahoe sized SUV in July for the Xmas Holiday for an 11 day rental. Picked up my SUV on the date and time of my reservation and received a Ford Expedition. No complaint/concern with the make/model provided what I never gave a thought to was needing to check the unit was road legal. The unit we were provided was 4,500 miles overdue for an oil change, was 2-month past due its annual inspection and 2-month expired on its registration. I called asking for a replacement to be told I was ok that it was a rental and their was grace periods we wouldn't get pulled over or fined. Than I was told don't worry any fine goes to Enterprise. I continued to push the issue and told Enterprise to find a new rental from the surrounding stores and to call me back. The rental agency NEVER called me back. Beware you may be drive units that are not road legal. Very disappointed. Gave 2 stars because the vehicle while not legal was great, otherwise would have been 1 - star. I also had to call the agency 4 times to get the satellite radio activated.

If I could give 5 stars to an individual person instead of just the company, they would go to Josh at the Augusta Enterprise location. We rented our car in Boston and had driven all the way to Augusta Maine when we got a flat. We (ourselves) changed out the tire with the spare in the trunk but didn't feel comfortable driving the car afterwards. After a few unsuccessful attempts at contacting a real person on the Enterprise 800 number, we finally got a customer service rep (Ashley) who told us that we would have a new vehicle us at the Augusta location 6 miles away from us. Once we got there, we were greeted by Josh who helped us get through the transition of swapping out our car without any hassle. He was very friendly and helpful.

Had reservation for car yesterday and waited over an hour after being told a car was being returned we could rent. Unfortunately, no car was returned and we had to leave. Two stars are for the manager's who drove us to our next destination, since this is a city with very limited ride shares and taxis. This has happened before where Enterprise.com will confirm reservations and locations do not have any vehicles. Call before going!!!

I don't understand the bad rating for this business! I couldn't have asked for a better experience during a very difficult time in my life. I was in a wreck that totaled my car at about 10pm, I called my insurance company at 3am, who put in a reservation for a rental car. I called them as soon as they opened and they picked me up within 15 minutes (or less) of me calling. The checkin process was very fast and efficient. The condition and cleanliness of the car was superb. I kept the car a few days after my insurance company stopped paying and they did not call to harass me about it. The checkout process was exceptional-I paid my balance, he checked the car, and I was on my way. Thank you Enterprise.

Worst experience I have ever had. I heard from lots of other disappointed customers the day they arrive to get their rental vehicle, they have some excuse of why they don't have the car you asked for. I was needing a car for a family vacation, so thought if I ordered it well enough in advance, I wouldn't have the problem that others had. I rented it 9 months in advance and checked on it a month before my vacation, all good..but still checked again 2 weeks before, then the week before we needed to go, still all good..but the day of pick up...ohhh boy!! I worked on this vacation for 9 months, was taking my 86-year-old mom and 4 generations to Disney's 50th.. So I rented an 8-passenger Chevy Suburban. When we got there to pick it up, low and behold, as others have told me, they did not have my car..Oh but they could give us something else...a Nissan of some sort...it wouldn't even hold a cooler, never mined 7 people and their luggage. I have no idea why they run a business like this but I can say one thing...Never Again will I use this company, and if you are smart you will STAY FAR AWAY FROM ENTERPRISE RENT A CAR FROM AUGUSTA MAINE!!!

I rented a vehicle after an accident through my insurance. The vehicle was reserved under a different name incorrectly and when I mentioned this to the branch manager he told me it was fixed. Took my money. Let me sign for it. And gave me the keys to a small SUV that was filthy both inside and out. To his credit Joe M. Did apologize on the mess, but not his overall rude attitude of someone that was taking his bad day out on customers. For insurance purposes I needed him to follow through on fixing my paperwork, but never did. He lied about the condition of the car (bad alignment/damaged electrical) and said he would note those issues as to not fall against me. He never did. Since my name was never corrected on the forms he let me drive off the lot an unauthorized user. And he's the manager in Augusta, Maine. Avoid this headache location and business.

Worst prices. This location charges $48 a day for an economy car when Portland charges $14 a day. Save lots of money by going to Portland. I also called to have the price matched or reduce and the young lady working on January 18 at 3:31pm said "no."

My employer rented a car for me from enterprise Rent-A-Car in Augusta. They picked me up to an a half hours late. When I called to find out when they were coming to get me a woman named Lexi was very rude and unprofessional. Some of the worst service I've ever had while renting a car. I would highly recommend using another company. *** once I arrived another employee made up for the first and it worked out great!
