I live in Belgrade, but frequently travel to Augusta to enjoy the best tasting burger in the surrounding Wtvl / Augusta area. Troy's connection to the original Bolley Genest from Wtvl with the secrets of exceptional comfort food keep me coming back. When I walk in, they just put on a burger and fries, no words needed. The dogs are great too, I'm just hooked on the burgers!

The Hott Dogg House is Augusta's go-to for the best dogs in town! It is a local landmark and it's always busy, don't worry though, the line goes fast and food comes out quick and hot! The Hott Dogg House offers everything from lobster rolls, to chicken nuggets, to onion rings, but you HAVE to have their signature dog and fries. Get cozy with a natural casing dog, served loaded (mustard, relish, and cooked onion sans ketchup), on a pillowy, warm steamed bun. It's divine! The snap of the dog, the crispy salty fries- it's just simple honest eats. Yes, you will smell like hot dogs and onions for the rest of the day - but who cares it's an amazing aroma! If you want ketchup just ask, on the tables you'll find assorted add-ons like malt vinegar, hot sauce, and celery salt. The place is small and unassuming. They sell bottled soda, juice, tea and water, cash and card accepted. The food is cooked right there in the open grill/fry station. Your order is cooked right before your eyes. It's quite something to watch the dog flipper man the grill while the cash lady calls out the orders and sets up lines of trays to get you in and out. They know their local customers and will chat them up! You'll feel like you're part of the family here. The establishment has inside sitting and standing dining, or eat outside by the brook under an umbrella'd picnic table. Not great for groups or those looking to have a working lunch as it's smallish and can be noisy since it's pretty busy smashing out the killer eats. I'm not sure of the Wi-Fi situation there. There is a parking lot all around the place. Located in the State's Capital, the Dogg House is a must try for everyone and is a popular lunch spot for government employees - cheap and quick! This is a regular eating destination for me (and my co-workers). You'll love it!

This is a not so small, but very New England quaint, hot dog restaurant off the beaten path in Augusta. It looks like it may have been another restaurant at some time, but they have done a great job of renewing it. There are also tables outside in front of the restaurant, but the real ambiance is the 10-12 picnic tables in the lot behind the parking lot. There is a lot of greenery and maybe a stream behind it? But the real treat is the food. And there is a lot to eat in addition to hot dogs. The hot dogs are grilled on a flat top and delicious. they have several different combos, or make your own. The staff are beyond friendly and even fun. I had a customized hot dog with onion rings. The onion rings were also delicious and not the least bit greasy. I can't wait to go back and possibly try something else on the menu if I can veer from the incredible hot dogs.

I spent a week recently in Augusta for training. Not wanting to eat at a chain fast food establishment I searched Yelp and came across The Hott Dogg House with a very high rating. This place was the highlight of the entire week and I enjoyed eating there all 5 days. The menu is simple but extensive. The dogs are great, the burger cooked to order and the fries homemade. The potions are as substantial as the fun interacting with Katrina, Troy and Mike. I picked my meal the first day and let Katrina pick the last 4 which included mild sausage on Thursday and ribeye steak sandwich on Friday with no regrets. Troy makes his own coleslaw. It is a little sweet for me so on the last day Troy, on his own, whipped up a less-sweet portion. If you enjoy light banter and great food at reasonable prices a stop at The Hott Dogg House is a must. - Eric G.

I've been eating here for too many years to count. It's been owned by the same family for many years and they honestly have the best hotdogs and their french fries are killer. They also have hamburgers and they have chicken sandwich lobster roll and chicken nuggets. Something for the entire family. Definitely try their onion rings they are good

The food is always good, fresh and hot right when you get it. The line goes fairly quick and all the staff are exceptional at what they do. Whenever I drive by, I almost always stop in and say hello to Troy and all the other wonderful staff. My father knew some of them personally from high school and first showed me what a good restaurant should be. Commercial businesses with similar food should reconsider their options. Because if The Hott Dogg House picks up steam anymore, they'll be at the top of the fast food industry in a week.
