Yes, you heard me right. The movie is an absolute ride — mystery, drama, thrill… it's got it all. Honestly, it’s better than this pub (and that’s saying something because the pub is actually good).

In fact, here's my humble request:
Change the theme of this pub to match Honey chechi's fashion sense.
Let’s get some movie posters up, themed cocktails named “Honey chechis Mystery” or “Honey chechi uyir,” maybe even a few scenes playing on the screens with honey chechi filing the in house displays.

I think the combo of Honey Chechi and Mohanlal is a banger and the pub should adopt their vibe.

Unprofessional and Condescending Manager – Avoid This Place

I visited The Monster on November 30, 2024, and had an awful experience with the bar manager, Daniel. From the start, he was condescending and rude, making unnecessary, snide comments that were completely unprovoked. His dismissive and belittling attitude created an unwelcoming atmosphere, and even the security staff seemed to follow his lead, glaring at me for the rest of the night.

I reached out to the establishment about this experience and received no response. Fortunately, there are plenty of other bars with pianos, like Marie’s Crisis and The Duplex across the street, where respect and professionalism aren’t optional. No need to waste time or money here.

I used to love coming to dance here at Monster — it always attracted a diverse crowd, which I really appreciate seeing in the gay scene. Now, it’s been many years since I’ve gone there, and when my friend and I went last night, we were belittled and treated like criminals almost immediately by security—a tall Black man with plenty of facial piercings. As I was reaching for my ID I was told to slow down with a hand in my face. Did he think I’d never been to a bar before? Then my bag was inspected after being asked with a sneer, ”what kind of bag is that?” It was a messenger bag people. Third, the man asked me if I had ever been here before, to which I brightly replied, “Yes!” He looked me up and down and proceeded to ask me, “So do you know what night it is?” As if I work there and know what events they put on every night of the damn calendar year. I thought he was about to tell me there were strippers and a dark room—something to warrant a warning perhaps. Y’all, it was bingo night! All of this attitude before I could even leave the vestibule. Please consider hiring more welcoming security. I get it, New York is a crazy place but this is not the way to greet patrons at a business many know and love. Because of this man my friend and I didn’t even feel comfortable staying. They done already removed the T and the Q from the Stonewall Monument, now I gotta catch an attitude from shady security guards at an iconic establishment? Queens, let’s do better.

Great atmosphere, clean, tidy, established, classy. Go in anytime to just relax and have friendly conversation, go in after 10ish for the downstairs dance/club which is the appropriate amount of dark/flirty. Drinks are good. Bartenders are professional and friendly/attentive. On nights with dancers you'll have NO ISSUE finding eye candy that will suit your individual taste.

Vi besöker vanligtvis Monster Bar två gånger om året. Ibland täcker Gäst vid dörren är $ 20 . Vi har alltid behandlats väl. Vi är nedlåtande mot pianobaren på entréplan. Jag älskar Monster! Det är så opretentiös och välkomnande, vilket är sällsynt i byn dessa dagar. Jag älskar pianospelen och folk sjunger låtar från musikaler. Du kan vara i Des Moines, Paris, Cleveland, Tokyo - det är så tidlöst och klassiskt!

Jag gick med min partner till denna klubb för första gången på en torsdagskväll. Det var i ett underjordiskt våning lite trångt. Det fanns många strippare. Vissa var vänliga andra inte så engagerande. Alla uppmanar dig att ha en privat för en varvdans. Det fanns en värd och en co värd som presenterade några av stripparna, de var ok. Några av stripparna visade inte mycket entusiasm att gå på scenen. Totalt var det kul men jag förväntade mig en mer spännande show.

Jag har kommit till Monster i Greenwich Village sedan början av 1980-talet när det var 1/3 så stor som idag. Piano mötte ingången, då, och det fanns stången från piano. Jag kommer ihåg att träffa vänner där varje onsdagskväll för att titta på dynastin på TV: n som svängde över baren. På den tiden var publiken kul och baren var ren.

Det är fortfarande en mestadels rolig plats att se vänner och sjunga på piano, men de måste städa och modernisera badrummen som ett första steg. Nästa och viktigast av allt kanske de vill överväga en ny chef, eftersom den som är ansvarig för närvarande befriar stamgästerna och lockar en mindre än stellär kundkrets. De ansvariga verkar inte alls engagerade i att anställa den bästa pianisten eller bartenderna för att behålla stamgästerna, men verkar snarare avsikt att spara pengar. På en ny natt var den vanliga pianisten ute och en ersättare som heter Steve tror jag fyllde i. Han var fantastisk. Han hade publiken i ett bra humör, spelade låtar gay män vill höra, och hade ingen uppenbar personlighetsstörning som några av de nuvarande anställda här verkar utgöra vid något tillfälle.
Eftersom den här platsen ligger mittemot Stonewall Monument Park samt Stonewall Bar, borde det vara en plats som out-of-towners kan besöka och se det bästa av homosexuella kulturen. Dessa toaletter gör en generad att vara homosexuell. Jag trodde att vi var tidigare bosatte sig för mindre än tillräckliga boende.

Min vän och jag checkar ut Stonewall Monument och märkte denna bar. Så senare den kvällen återvände vi för en drink och slutade titta på en dragshow (på måndag!). Vi hade en bra tid. Denna plats är verkligen coolt; två våningar. På övervåningen finns en lounge / bar och nere är en klubb / bar. Bartenderna var mycket vänliga och dra prestanda var fantastisk! Brita Filter är hilarisk som var de andra drottningarna.

Jag har varit i Monster många gånger under de senaste 8 åren eller så, och det har alltid en vänlig publik. På övervåningen är lite liten och kan bli trångt, medan nere är lite större. De tar inte kreditkort och det fanns ett lock på $ 10 vid midnatt (åtminstone på en lördagskväll), men det finns en bankomat innanför. Förvänta dig att spendera cirka $ 20 per runda (2 personer) inklusive tips. Tjänsten var lite långsam men fortfarande runt, en bra tid. Inom kort gångavstånd från flera tunnelbanestationer.

Vi besökte denna bar samtidigt på en natt ute i byn. Dryckerna var rimligt prissatta för New York $ 8 för en gin och tonic, vilket är okej. Pianobaren var mycket upptagen med lokalbefolkningen och turisterna. Nedervåningen fanns en dragspel och go-go-dansare på scenen. Klubben nere var mycket upptagen på natten gick vi. Folket verkade vänligt och vi behövde inte vänta länge för att få en drink. Det enda negativa jag har är att du måste betala 10 kr avgift för att komma in och det finns en 2-drink minimipolicy för varje individ, vilket verkar orättvist. Men det var fortfarande en bra natt hade av alla.

Stannade i en drink på vägen tillbaka till Penn Station. Vänlig personal, snacks vid happy hour, prisvärda drycker. Skulle stanna igen.

Jag besökte Monster i augusti förra året och gjorde många nya vänner från ett besök. Fantastisk plats, musik och vänlig personal. Dryckerna är rimligt prissatta också. Praktiskt att Stonewall pub och park som ligger strax över vägen.

Ska vara en av de mest kända gaybarerna i NYC; skulle mer sannolikt säga det som den rudest bar i NYC. Gick in och fick serveras i baren genast men önskar att vi inte hade stört, som omedelbart cliques av människor dömde och sneer från alla håll i baren. Tydligen någonstans för lokalbefolkningen, vi gjorde snabbt vår väg ut efter en drink. En stjärna känner en mycket generös betyg för någonstans med en sådan dålig attityd. Att bli gjort känner sig ovälkommen, någonstans så nära där människor kämpade för mångfald verkar galen.

Monsteret var en av de första gaybarerna jag besökte när jag flyttade till staden, och jag fortsätter att njuta av happy hour med vänner här - bra musik, snygga bartendere, stor folkmassa. Du hittar alltid ett par killar för att starta en konversation med - mycket vänlig publik! !

Det här stället är ett bra val om du letar efter för avkoppling. Den piano och det är kören, av människor i sällskap runt att sjunga göra en trevlig inramning när du vill ha att njuta av en cocktail med en vän eller partner.
