I was a member of the Ned from close to the time it opened until last December when I paused my membership. This December my membership pause ended and I decided to cancel. I reached out to the head of membership and she confirmed the cancellation, but I was later charged and needed to follow up (at the time of writing still awaiting refund).

The membership aspect of the club originally was the reason I joined. There were two locations slated to be in NYC, one in the American Exchange building downtown and one at the Broadway location. Up until last November the Ned membership confirmed the second location was coming. This obviously is not going to materialize based on timelines laid out when I joined in 2022.

In addition, the current location is now accessible to public and hotel guests and only the roof and dining room are exclusive to the club members.

The aspects of the club I originally enjoyed were a robust programming of events, live music daily and the private atmosphere. All of these have been compromised by management actions. The club has had its share of staff turnover, mismanagement of liquor license, and food quality issues during my membership as well.

I recommend avoiding the Ned based on my experience.

Disappointing Experience

My stay here left me questioning how 5-star ratings are determined, as this hotel falls short in service, quality, and attention to detail. While the property has a stylish aesthetic, it seems more focused on appearances than delivering a truly exceptional experience.

Pros:
•	Location: Convenient and central.
•	Comfort: The bed was cozy.
•	Housekeeping: Amy, the housekeeper, was polite and professional.

Cons:
1.	Service: There was no doorman to assist with luggage, and the front desk staff were indifferent. A luxury hotel should excel in hospitality, but this was sadly not the case.
2.	Cleanliness: My shower had mold along the floors, and the room was dusty in many areas—unacceptable at any level, let alone for a high-end property.
3.	Room Service: The food sucked! To make matters worse I ordered for three people, and no silverware was delivered. When I called down to request it, I was initially told to check the tray (it wasn’t there). The room service attendant questioned me again when he delivered it later—an insulting and unnecessary interaction. I ended up walking across the street to 7th Street for a better burger.

Ultimately, the combination of poor service, lack of cleanliness, and inattentive staff made this stay a disappointment. While it may look the part of a luxury hotel, it fails to deliver where it matters most. I would not spend another dollar to stay here and recommend looking elsewhere for a truly five-star experience.

A sophisticated oasis at the heart of NYC. The team were incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. This is a great location from which to explore the city. We particularly enjoyed the lounges and cabaret and the roof terrace is an enchanting spot to meet friends, enjoy great food or exotic cocktails. Rooms are light, well proportioned and with every amenity. This all made our stay unforgettable.

I do not recommend spending your money or time on the Ned’s brunch feast.  The host was extremely rude and staff were not attentive.  The food was insulting.  One of the worst bagels I have ever had, which is shocking given there are dozens of great bagel shops in the area.

**Strongly Not Recommended.**
This hotel is overpriced, lacks proper cleaning, and is extremely inhumane.

I stayed here for 5 nights, paying $760 per night, totaling $3,800. (On top of that, based on my recommendation, my companion stayed for 4 nights, paying $2,300. Altogether, we spent $6,000 on this hotel!)

1. Upon arrival, there was no staff to help move our luggage, so I had to carry it myself. (Is this really a 5-star hotel??? 🤭)
2. During my 5-night stay, the room was not cleaned properly each day and remained dirty. At one point, they even left used plastic bags behind (as shown in the pictures 😔), and the hairdryer, shampoo, and other amenities were left completely unorganized.
3. The noise from the surroundings was extremely loud, and the room had poor soundproofing. I could hear conversations from the adjacent rooms, and at one point, I smelled something like smoke coming from another room.
4. No access to Netflix, YouTube, or other streaming services, and the facilities were outdated.
5. ✔️ The staff were unfriendly and rude. After checkout, while waiting for a taxi in the lobby, I wasn’t feeling well due to a cold, so I closed my eyes for a moment. A staff member came over and told me I wasn’t allowed to sleep there. Later, while resting my head on my knees because of a headache, another staff member told me to lift my head. 😱 The lobby was small, and the facilities didn’t even resemble those of a 5-star hotel. The service was also at its lowest.

I've stayed at hotels from the Ned Hotel and Soho House groups in London, and the quality here is nowhere near comparable. The location is extremely touristy, lacking any hip atmosphere, noisy, and predictable. The cleaning, service, and room quality were all deeply unsatisfactory.

I strongly advise against staying here—save your money. There are plenty of better hotels in New York!
