My wife and I had lunch at Mammy Lucy, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing—authentic, flavorful, and prepared to perfection. We went with the Regina Carbonara, Tagliolini Allo Scoglio and a new salad that will be on the menu soon that consisted of jumbo prawns and calamari in a lemon sauce. The bread service was fantastic as well!

The portions were generous and the service was truly stellar. Lorenzo was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making us feel welcomed and well cared for throughout the meal.

Mamma Lucy will likely become my go-to spot for Italian, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re planning a casual meal or a special celebration, this place will exceed your expectations!

The evening started off a bit bumpy but took a surprising turn as the experience went on! None of us had been here before, but we made a reservation and arrived on time. Upon entering, we were greeted by an unexpected “hair salon” aroma—very clear, very odd, but it dissipated after a few minutes. The restaurant was about half full, and the friendly hostess seated us at a table near the front door.

Noticing several open booths further from the door (and away from the cold breeze and check-in noise), I asked if we could sit there instead. Surprisingly, we were told, “No, those are reserved for other people.” When I pointed out that we were other people, the hostess explained that certain reservations specifically request booths. So, the empty booths were being held for people who weren’t there yet—and might not even show up. That was a first for me and made for a bumpy start.

Fortunately, our server turned things around. He was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the restaurant—almost as if he owned the place (he didn’t). He even pronounced every Italian word with a strong, theatrical Italian accent, which we all found amusing and endearing.

Now, the highlights:
•	The food: Incredible! Everything was homemade—pastas, sauces, bread—and it showed. The complimentary bread was warm, steamy, chewy inside, and perfectly crusty outside, served with olive oil and balsamic. Apps like the eggplant parm and caprese were excellent. The entrees? Even better.
•	The gnocchi with meat sauce were the softest I’ve ever had, though I missed a bit of al dente bite.
•	The seafood pasta was packed with fresh seafood in a classic, light sauce.
•	The homemade spaghetti and beef meatballs were fantastic.
•	And the carbonara? Stellar—chewy, creamy, with fresh egg, cheese, and smoky pork. Easily my favorite.
•	Drinks: While the first round of drinks took nearly 15 minutes (we joked they ran to the store for coconut rum), they were great once they arrived. We ended the meal with the best creamy limoncello I’ve ever had, made in-house from the owner’s secret family recipe.

The restaurant itself was clean and inviting, with reasonable prices and generous portions. However, the unusual booth policy and slow bar service can’t be ignored and cost the experience a star (though I wish I could deduct just half).

Do I recommend Momma Lucy? Absolutely. Despite a couple of hiccups, the food and service made it a memorable evening. I’m looking forward to a return visit to see if they can iron out those minor issues.

My son recommended Mamma Lucy and he was spot on. Great ambience and service. We all had pasta dishes which were very tasty, plentiful and very fresh.  No leftovers with us. The strawberry and walnut salad was very good as were the pizelles.  We were stuffed and didn't have dessert. Made another reservation for next week!

Mama Lucy just set a new standard for 5-star Restaurant in my book; I'm absolutely floored!

The waiter, Chris, was exceptionally on point: perfect timing when checking in with us, charming and professional in demeanor, and very knowledgable when it came to the menu and the daily specials being offered.

The ambience was Elegance/Decadence, really representative of a high end establishment.

The food was HEAVENLY! We went for the Trio Platter Special to try all three Specials, and each one was uniquely delicious to the point I could not stop myself from clearing each plate. We also tried the Arancini as an appetizer, and it's definitely two thumbs up from us.

Lastly the dessert special was DIVINE and left us craving more, so we left with a Cannoli to go even though we were stuffed to the brim with one of the best Italian Restaurants I've ever had the honor of tasting.

I went to Mammas on my journey to find the best Italian in AZ last night and had a great meal in a very traditional Italian restaurant. The service is great and the drink options were great pairings for our appetizers.

We started with the Famous Pizzelle which is fluffy fried pizza dough topped with tomato sauce and parm. Very good but wish it came with a side of tomato sauce for dipping!  Went with the Trio Signature Platter for our main which is a TON of food for 2 people but let us try three popular dishes. My favorite was the Amatriciana which had perfectly seared guanciale and soft tomatoes that made up the sauce with a little bit of spice in it. The carbonara was also delicious and a bit more liquid than I am used to but it was great. The house-made pasta was cooked al dente and held the flavor in well.
