My girlfriend and I came to Forward Brewing for the first time on a Thursday afternoon in April while visiting Annapolis. We've been to 60+ breweries in NJ where we are from, but this was only our second Maryland brewery. We were very impressed! The inside is clean and bright with natural light. The outdoor area is even larger with plenty of seating on the porch in front, and space on the side and behind the building. We sat in the side garden area which quickly filled up with people and dogs. They don't do flights so we ordered a few 10 oz pours while there. I tried the Phantasmic Voyage (hoppy lager), the Gilded One (West Coast IPA), and the Hipster's Delight (sour IPA). All were excellent. Couldn't have been more impressed. Equally as impressive was their system for ordering and receiving beer. They set up a small bar outside where you can order, even if you started a tab inside. Then literally seconds later someone else brings your beer outside and calls your name. A very well oiled machine. We live over two hours away but will definitely be back when we're in the area, and definitely recommend this place to other beer lovers.

I returned to Forward, when a friend suggested the spot for a low-key hangout- My re-visit experience stays true with a lot of key takeaways from my original review-but I bumped up a star because the beer was much better than my previous visits- Forward gives very "Annapolis" very select vibe- the quaint backyard & small indoor space create more of a crowded feeling than cozy friendly- even as a small 2 people group, we had difficulty finding a spot to hang out- and when we did grab a table, it was squished between two other groups, making chatting difficult- We did luck out this visit with a smaller than normal bar line- and their staff went around tables to help people order top offs which was an easier experience compared to the long lines I was used to Parking was still a B*%#$- it took me a few circles of the block to find a street spot- then a decent walk down the street to the Brewery- This time, the beer I ordered (IPAs) were very elevated- last few visits, I noted nothing had unique flavor- all very basic average drinkable, nothing special, but this visit I had: the black ipa (a re-try)- this batch was elevated stronger with a distinguishable hoppy pop the huzzah amber ipa was such a unique profile- I never had an ipa like it & I even bought a 4pack to bring home The bartender was great about letting me sample a few of the other IPAs I didn't order pints of, because I wanted to potentially grab some 4packs to go- very thankful he did because I ended up grabbing 2 other IPA packs to go Overall, last time I left feeling Forward would be a one & done place for me, but this visit left me wanting to go again soon to grab a pint & re-stock

Stopped here trying the local Breweries. Sat outside in the courtyard and ordered the PERROS JALAPEÑO beer. If you don't enjoy heat don't order this beer. It was amazing and true to its name. The service was excellent and very fast. The court yard dining was friendly and dog friendly as well! Very much beer garden appeal.

This perfectly fits the vibe of Eastport! The beer is creative and wonderful! They have a good amount of IPAs that are flavorful and not very bitter. A mango sour that was to die for!!! We also had the pretzel crab dip with pimento cheese . They killed it! Staff was super friendly and engaging. Very chill atmosphere that is perfect for social hangouts but can also be quiet during the day to read a book or do some work over a beer. Highly recommend! We'll be back!

Cute spot in the neighborhood across the bridge in Annapolis. Plenty of solid beer options and the food they were bringing out to people looked delicious but didn't try anything. Lots of outdoor seating and enough indoor and patio seating. Friendly staff. Efficient service. Probably would prefer to come here when I come back to Annapolis than only stay on Main St.

Terrible service, especially by one individual. She acted completely put off she had to be there and was incredibly rude to our group and the children in our group. I have never been to a restaurant where someone was that incredibly rude.

Stopped by here after the kids pirate cruise and before dinner with the family. We parked a couple of blocks away at the Marina parking lot. It's a pay lot, but it's reasonable and you don't have to worry about finding parking on the street. The staff was very accommodating with my kids, even with a napping 3 year old in a stroller. The seating and inside is bright and inviting. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their product. Their tap list had a decent variety of styles and wasn't full of hazy IPA's which was nice to see! I started with a black IPA Silent is the night. It was 8.6% heavy on the roast and chocolate, but well represented on the piney and citrusy hop side. I thought it was above average and delicious. My second was the Riposo an imperial stout at 11.6% brewed with chocolate and roasted malts, conditioned on biscotti compound. Notes of coffee, dark chocolate and rum soaked banana chips. I found it to be a solid sipper that matched the description, but lacked the complexity and intensity I was hoping for. Still above average and tasty. We were looking at the food menu and decided to snack on a Soft Pretzel - $9.00 - from Dough Boy Fresh Pretzel Co. w/ beer mustard. Add smoked gouda cheese sauce - $1 - It was different than the Bavarian style we are used to at most breweries. It was more of a roll of bread, but flaky and buttery. It was doughy in the middle but the body was more on the thinner flaky side. The smoked gouda cheese was delicious. It had lots of flavor and some smoke to it. Check out the take out fridge before you go ..... I snagged a two pack of Chupez Imperial Mole Stout that wasn't on the tap list. It was an above average brew and a very solid sipper. You can also take brews off the tap list to go in a crowler. I highly recommend spending some daytime/early afternoon hours exploring Eastport (Maritime museum, Pirate Adventure cruise, Cream of Crab soup at Carrols creek plus the nice view of spa creek and the drawbridge) and then enjoying some brews at Forward!
