Bottom Line: A large, beautiful gallery featuring a variety of artists, mediums and subjects. For starters, I would just like to note that I am by no means any sort of art expert but I do really enjoy looking at art and particularly pieces that have meaning to me. Originally I went to McBride Gallery to pick up some Carol Dyer Christmas cards but of course I had to take the opportunity to peruse the entire diverse collection at McBride Gallery. Even if you are not an art enthusiast, I think you will find that there are many interesting works of art in here. Some of the items that particularly caught my eye were a large Carol Dyer (oil or acrylic?) painting of Annapolis and a (bronze?) statue of Maryland crabs. Unfortunately, I do not have thousands of dollars in my budget for art but I do appreciate the craft and recognize there are more affordable ways to add some cool pieces to my collection. On this particular occasion I was on a mission for local Christmas cards but I would definitely return to ask if there were prints available of some of the originals I really liked. Note, I that I did see some prints but I suspect others may be available. Given that McBride Gallery's collection includes the work of many artists (at least 50, I think), you will find a variety of mediums here. For instance, I also saw some beautiful watercolors and eye-catching photographs. If Annapolitan inspired art is not you thing, please do not rule out McBride gallery as I saw many cool pieces of places out West, famous landmarks in Europe and quaint dairy farms. Something else I really like about McBride Gallery is that they take pride in their store and treat their customers as guests. Overall, this is a great store on Main Street.

Ok, after posting a bad review here, I finally got my painting back - after three years! I took the painting in for cleaning. It was a snow/winter scene and the whites were more tan than white. Now, I have my painting back. After three years of work, the whites still look tan and the painting still smells of cigarette smoke. For this I paid $845? And, to add insult to injury McBride charged me for shipping. When I took the painting in, I lived in Annapolis. Three years later, I live in Las Vegas. Yes, I feel ripped off. Just a warning for anyone wanting fine art work done.

Great place to go if you are a collector of fine art or just love to look. A long-time part of historic main street, McBride Gallery is a must to stop in and see what new discoveries are on display. Many styles and mediums are represented. My fave style is American Impressionism. Besides orginial art, we have picked up affordable prints when the budget calls. : ) Our kids love it too! - Their fave are the animal sculpures.

This Art Gallery has mostly traditional art. The art of Victor Nizovtsev that I saw featured in The Capital newspaper [Gallery Section] was what lured me to it. Original Art - in this case beautiful Original Art in my humble opinion should be hung, not placed on the floor. It was like walking on the eggshells as I was more concerned not to accidentally step on art instead of enjoying the art. The Original Art was mixed with Canvas Prints which was disappointing to see. This could have been done better by creating one section for Canvas Art Prints and another for Original Art. The person working there was a lady the two times I have been there and she seemed unapproachable. If you like expensive $$$$ traditional representational art and impressionistic art tastefully done by seasoned artists, this is a good gallery to go to. This place can do wonders if it hires a professional and a creative curator with great organizational skills.
