I just got back from my vacation in Croatia where my family and I chartered a sailboat and a skipper from Sunsail. It goes without saying, but we had a fantastic time. Sunsail was very professional from the get go. They had an answer to all my questions, and were pretty accommodating. We made a couple changes to the itinerary in shortly before our vacation and everything turned out just fine. I was a little worried about our arrival, but it went off without a hitch. Seriously, this is a top notch outfit that charters sailboats all around the world. The skipper we hired through Sunsail was one of the best "guides" I've ever had. He was a local guy and knew all the in's and out's. On more than one occasion, he was able to get us a mooring and a good meal. This just shows that Sunsail employs and contracts out to only some of the best people and guarantees good fun for all. The only downsides, our boat was a little older. This is fine by itself, but when the whole point of shore power is to charge the battery and run electrics when you're plugged in, and you can't... it's at the least inconvenient, at the most, pretty damn annoying. Their website is also a little lacking in information. While informative, there were a few times I wanted answers that should have been on the website but I had to e-mail them instead. All-in-all, a great company. Do your research, as there are lots of charter companies wherever you sail and they're probably all good. But this was my first time and I wanted to go with a big outfit - and their prices were all in line with smaller companies.
