This is our favorite restaurant in the hospital. We have been here quite a few times and the food always hits the spot. They give you large portions and the prices are not bad either. You can get your food spicy or mild if u like. I wish that they had the shrimp shumai and the gyoza heated up. I always put them into the ramen to heat them up or throw them into the microwave. They also have pretty decent sushi here as well. Definitely check them out.

So Yoya is located inside the UMMC hospital, which is where I work, so it almost feels like cheating to write this review... like I'm reviewing cafeteria food or something. Putting that aside, I actually think the food at Yoya is pretty decent! Pre-made sushi is never going to taste like sushi you would get at a sit down restaurant but it's still pretty good (and I actually do think that they roll everything fresh in the morning). The checkout place where you pay even gives you free eel sauce or spicy mayo if you ask for it, which in itself tells you they're not messing around, they want you to enjoy your food and that's all you can really expect from any restaurant/food place. The ramen isn't bad either for pre-made/ready to order ramen, I actually think it tastes really good and comes as a large portion. Yoya also does some poke bowls which are pretty standard as far as poke bowls go, although I WILL say that they can be really expensive if you're making a custom one, so just stick to the "specials". They also do lunch rice bowl specials for every day of the week, all of which I like! (Yes.... I have tried them all... and yes, basically 1/3 of my credit card statement every month is Yoya purchases) My favorite thing though, unexpectedly, is the grilled salmon salad that they have every day in the pre-made cooler. It is located in the bottom left corner of the cooler on the left. I have no idea what the dressing is that's in the salad, some sort of lemon vinaigrette or something, but it's amazing, like I would buy a bottle of it if I could! The salmon piece is generally pretty large and cooked well. When your food options in the hospital are limited and you're looking for something fresh/sallad-y, I highly recommend this salad, or anything really from Yoya!

Huge fan of this place. The ramen and poke are fantastic and I truly wish they would open a second location-specifically Howard county would be awesome :) The sushi is good for premade sushi but the poke and ramen are their stars. Staff is always pleasant as well. The lines outside the place speaks volumes to how good their food is.

First let me preface by saying this is hospital food, located inside the UMMC food court area. I tried the tonkotsu/pork (mistakenly called tonkatsu by the owner) ramen, and it was actually OK. The egg was a tad overcooked but yolk still kind of soft. Soup base was a bit spicy, just the way I like it. Chashu slices were thin but there were 6 pieces of them and it was the right portions of fat and lean meat. If this place was out in a mall or a standalone restaurant I would give it a 3 star, but being able to have a hot and satisfying meal while in a hospital merits a fourth star.

Sushi is pretty good. I've thoroughly enjoyed the grilled salmon roll. Husband loves the tuna roll with spicy sauce. This spot is located in the UM hospital. We've eaten here daily for over a week. The workers have grown familiar with us and are very pleasant while our baby is under the hospitals care.

The day that I had food here, the lunch special was chicken teriyaki with steam broccoli and rice. It was well cooked and they gave a decent amount of chicken for the price. I had one of those Japanese pre-mixed coffees too. Total was a smidge under $10, so take hay for what it is worth.

Gotta give them 4 stars: the context is hospital food. What they offer is edible sushi that they make fresh everyday, congee with a soft boiled egg, large baos that are decent despite probably being frozen (pork and veggies, red beans, bbq pork), poke bowls, daily rice plate for a very reasonable price (teriyaki chicken, chicken Katsu, panko fried fish), and ramen that is comparable to what you get in restaurants (caveat, most ramen places aren't selling that great of ramen in the first place). I think what they offer is quite impressive for where it is located. Solid 4 stars

$9 for a bowl of semi-authentic tasting ramen within the hospital cafeteria gets 4 stars from me. I've only ordered the tonkotsu ramen with pork. Their ramen comes topped with garlic chili oil, bamboo shoots, scallions, and a generous portion of protein (tofu, shrimp, chicken, pork). Noodles can be a hit or miss depending on what time you go. Sometimes they are too mushy.
