I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible fine-dining Indian restaurant, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations! From start to finish, every dish was a masterpiece.

We began with an array of appetizers that were nothing short of spectacular. The vegetarian options, like the crispy and flavorful kale & sakarkandi chaat and the bursting with flavors dahi puri & paani puri, were absolutely delicious. The non-veg appetizers, particularly the tender chicken 65 were cooked to perfection, bursting with rich, aromatic flavors.

For the mains, we indulged in a few signature dishes. The butter chicken was undoubtedly the star of the show—smooth, creamy, and packed with the perfect balance of spices. The lamb saag was a delightful surprise—tender lamb slow-cooked in a rich spinach gravy, creating a deep, savory flavor profile. Similarly, the lamb rogan josh was a complex, fragrant dish that captured the essence of traditional Kashmiri cooking, with the lamb cooked to perfection and the spices harmonizing beautifully.

The seafood offerings were fresh and vibrant, Kasundhi Seafood Curry that transported me straight to the coasts of India. The combination of spices in each dish was divine.

To round off the meal, we were treated to a dessert that was the perfect ending to an unforgettable experience. The Ssaanjh Dessert Pot, was the ideal balance of sweetness and richness, while the Shahi Waffle was creamy and refreshing, providing a delightful contrast to the richness of the meal.

The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience, with elegant décor and attentive service. This place is a true gem for anyone seeking authentic, exceptional Indian cuisine. Highly recommend it to both newcomers and seasoned Indian food lovers alike!

Yet another mediocre addition to Indian food scene in Boston. We tried within the first week of operations, so hopefully some of these could improve as time progresses. Food / drinks / service are hit or miss. Presentation & ambience are good. Beetroot croquettes were good, samosa chaat was dry & bland. Sauces in main course didn’t feel fresh, they were just ok. Breads were quite good. Dessert was underwhelming & too pricey for what it was. 1/3 drinks we ordered was great, other 2 were too watery. There is lots of potential here & I hope they take the feedback and improve!

Ssaanjh is the evening many gourmands of Indian cuisine have been waiting for in the Boston Area. Out with the tried and tested and in with a new twist to the traditional Indian cuisine. Ssaanjh delivers on new ideas be it cocktails or appetizers and main course. The desserts are mind blowing. I highly recommend chicken saag only because anywhere else you’d have chicken with spinach where as authenticity demands saag has to be Sarson da Saag (South Asians please explain this nuance to the uninitiated).

What a wonderful experience Ssaanjh offers! The food is delicious, ambiance is great, and the staff is amazing! I truly can not wait to come back with all of my friends and family!

For appetizers, we had the Dahi (yogurt) poori, Dahi kabobs, Kale and Sakarkandi (sweet potato) chaat and all were phenomenal!

For the main course, we had the special butter chicken and let me tell you, you do not want to skip this dish! The flavor of char broiled chicken comes through in the gravy and it’s soooo delicious! This is one of the few butter chicken dishes that I will actually eat and love!

All of the desserts sound amazing, but we are far too much to have space, but I will be back to try them all.

Finally found the place for delicious butter chicken in the Boston area!

Food:
MUST GET- The Ssaanjh special butter chicken is the star of this restaurant. The tandoori chicken has a smoky flavor that pairs perfectly with the creamy buttery sauce. This dish tastes exactly like authentic butter chicken you can find in London.

Baked malai tikka- cooked to tender creamy perfection, could have more spice

Achari salmon- all their meat dishes are high quality. This one tasted like a regular salmon, slightly fishy taste, with a little bit of seaweed salad on top. Could have more Indian spices and have nori strips instead to enhance the fusion flavor

Kale and sakarkandi chaat- SO good! The kale is crispy and the sweet potato is soft, portion size could be bigger :) It tastes very similar to the palak chaat at Rasika in DC (another amazing Indian fusion restaurant)

Charred corn and avocado- it was ok, could have more flavor

Dahi ke kabab- the kabab itself could have more hung curd flavor, but the tomato chutney that came with it was spicy and delicious

Dahi puri- the yogurt mousse makes it light and airy, definitely very creative but could have more spice

Entrees:
Highly recc the lamb shank Nihari- the meat falls right off the bone

Jaipuri lal maas- tomato-heavy flavor with tender pieces of goat

Dessert:
Highly recc the gulab jamun tart- the juicy gulab jamun over a bed of soft rasmalai is heavenly

Friendly staff, fast service
