Excellent tacos, tasted pretty authentic without much of the new fusion mixes a lot of places are doing. The owners were super nice. They let's use try their new chicken taco that is debuting the following day. The truck is decorated nicely, in a clean new gas station parking lot. Tasted super fresh, and was really warm. It's halal.

Random location, but one of the best food trucks in the area. The birria is very good, and rivals many in the area. The shrimp taco and Hawaiian taco were the show stoppers though. Cooked perfectly with the spicy catrina sauce.. I could easily eat my weight in tacos here! A must stop if you're in the area!

I first had Catrina Mia over a year ago and I was so impressed. Now they had to shut dow for a little while, but that's understandable. Sometimes that happens... HOWEVER! They reopened as of last week Thursday and they haven't missed a beat! We decided to go with the Quesadillas instead of the tacos this time and we enjoyed every bit. The QuesaBirria was soooo good. The proportion of meat was good for the size and it was extremely flavorful. Just like I remember it. The Hawaiian Quesadilla, Mike didn't like as much but I enjoyed it. The little hints of pineapple was great and every bite was like a little surprise. The Elote was good. Wasn't the greatest but it wasn't the worse either. I think it may have been just a little too much of the mayo for me. Other than that it was good. For the price of everything we spent $37. Most May see this a pretty pricey but considering the times we are in, cost are going up across the board. But for the taste and experience, you can't beat it either. I wasn't shocked by the price as I have been to other Mexican restaurants and spent about the same for just about the same amount of food. I would suggest that people give this place a try. Their food truck is located in the Zazz gas station parking lot off 15 Mile and definitely worth the drive and/or trying.

I saw Catrina Mia's Instagram page because @thedetroitdiet posted a fantastic reel with their birria tacos. It's like a 10-minute drive from me so my boyfriend and I drove over there today. Catrina Mia is a food truck in the Zazz gas station lot - when you pull into the gas station, it's on the west side. I ordered two birria tacos and my boyfriend ordered quesa birria, aka a birria quesadilla. Both came with a cup of the birria (soup? Consomme?) as a dipper. The birria tacos were VERY good. The birria dipping soup is a little bit spicy. I ordered one corn birria taco and one flour and the corn is a little small. Prices are a little high - $3.75 for flour and I think $3.25 or $3.50 for corn. The birria quesadilla was $11.99. The steak taco was decent but El Guanaco's (1-minute drive from me) is a little better. Catrina Mia also has horchata, I didn't order it this time but I would next time. Overall I would come back here, specifically for the birria tacos, which were very tasty and flavorful.

A bit expensive for such small tacos. The shrimp tacos are good but wow are they spicy. I wish they had an option of mild or spicy pico. Also they used to stuff the shrimp tacos with shrimp and the last couple times it hasn't been much. I wish they opened on Sundays. Many time I would wanna order but then remember they don't open on Sundays.

The food was okay, nothing special unless you only eat halal and want birria tacos. My main gripe however is the rudeness of the lady at the register. She tried charging me extra for plates to eat our food on. We had a party of seven people, and ordered three items to split, one of which was their pizza birria. When we asked for extra plates, I was told they would be 50 cents per plate for what was literally a tiny Styrofoam plate. I honestly thought she was joking at first because of the absurdity of it, and when I ask if she was being serious she snapped back with a rude comment about how plates aren't free for her so why should they be free for me? Lol. Tell me you know nothing about how to cover overhead costs. I told her in a very calm manner that she should consider covering the costs of her own plates because it would deter customers from coming back, and that customer retention will be more profitable in the long run then pinching pennies on styrofoam plates. She responded by cutting me off and talking over me loudly and telling me that she didn't need my advice. I told her to take it or leave it and then refused to continue arguing with her, eventually walking away while she tried to continue defending herself in an aggressive manner. In addition to us seven, there were three other people there that also looked appalled at her behavior. So congrats lady, you just lost 10 customers over a few bucks!

I was really excited to try a halal taco place but it was nothing but disappointment. They put up a pretty picture on their social media to lure people in and serves food that look very unappetizing and blend. How do you call these tacos? There was probably not even 1oz of meat combined in three tacos that cost me $13

Omgosh the food is unbelievably delicious and the portions are plentiful. This food truck is currently parked in Dearborn Heights. As a Westland resident, I couldn't be happier. I ordered, loaded fries, soup and a shredded beef taco. First Time customer.... Can't wait to go back...craving the shredded beef...luv luv luv the food. Service was perfect...anxious for the warm weather to show up so I can sit at their outdoor table. ....

I never really had authentic birria tacos so I can't really compare. But these were really good, so if ur looking to try them like me, give catrina Mia a try.
