AAA was supposed to have me on autopay because I signed up for that service. This happened 3 times where my auto insurance was cancelled for nonpayment . The agent apologized but fudged the paperwork and changed the date. I took several screenshots of our email conversation . I don't recommend AAA to anyone they use false advertising and robo and spam mailings for you to purchase unnecessary life insurance . No one is available to take a simple phone call and they are always too busy. People don't want to work nowadays and rather work from home without any accountability . LARGE insurance companies have gotten too big for their bridges and we the consumers must expose them. I recommend dealing with a smaller insurance company this way you should get more of a personal service. I have called 6 of their 1-800- numbers and still haven't been able to talk to anyone .

My husband and I have been with AAA auto insurance since 1974. I have/had a 2015 Jeep Cherokee only driven 49,842 mile. I had a minor finder bender back in 2/23/2024. I made a claim, but I never followed up cause it just looked like it had a dent and I never had any problems opening and closing the hood for regular maintenance such as oil changes. Back in January 2025 when is was so cold my battery died and AAA came and changed my battery. When they shut the hood they couldn't get the hood latched. I took it in to be fixed and I figured I would just use my claim. Well someone from field appraiser came out and wrote that it was a total loss. I was shocked. I disagreed and wanted some one else's opinion. But I was never allowed to have someone else look at it since it was now considered a total loss. It would always be flagged that and I had no recourse. If I bought it back it will always be red flagged as a total loss. So no collision or comprehensive insurance. All I went in was to have the hood latched shut. Now you would think since I have been a loyal customer of AAA auto insurance since, 1974. That I would at least been able to go with the field appraiser or with a new one to get a second opinion. And to show me why they think my vehicle is a total loss. But I was never offered that. I hope this will be a warning to ppl that have AAA auto insurance and for ppl thinking of getting AAA auto insurance to go somewhere else. My husband of 47 years had just died or he would have fixed the latch. I was pushed into a corner and was NEVER allowed to actually see why is was considered a total loss. I was never given a chance to see what the appraiser or have a second opinion.

On May 14, 2024, I noticed that AAA had charged $103 to my credit card without my authorization for a renewal of membership service I'd purchased a year prior. I called immediately and they agreed to refund the charge and cancel the service. But, they never did as they promised. During this call, AAA suggested I should have canceled online, but this is not possible. AAA also suggested that I could have removed my payment information online, but this was also impossible. When I checked today, the AAA membership accounts were closed, but they really seem to want to keep my money.

My friend is a elderly man and his car broke down in the city of Detroit and these ass hats of kinda people that let this elderly man wait 345 minutes for a toe and I reached out to them asking about the toe truck that is taking their sweet fucking time to help him he doesn't need to be out in this neighborhood wtf is wrong with this asshole this guy is a 80 year old man and doesn't need the bullshit for I reached out to the office asking for help for him for he doesn't want people to think that he doesn't need help but he's does for now they are stating that they are going to be 25 minutes more this is ridiculous for I told him to get rid of them for all this bullshit doesn't need it fuck triple AAA you would think that they are better of course not they are stupid let's put their old mother or grandpa in this situation I'll be getting a different car insurance instead of r This service they are clowns

Was denied service for a battery. My wife sat in a frozen car for 2 hours until I could get there and change it out. 1st time I ever tried to call upon them for assistance. Not sure what I paid for. Was given an apology email afterwards from corporate. No recommendation or offer to make things right. I cancelled the following week.

I pay to be a member of AAA, included with my membership is towing for my car within 100 miles of breakdown to the shop of my choosing. Car broke down for an engine issue on 8/23/23. I called AAA for a tow, they dispatched a tow truck who towed my All wheel drive vehicle by the front tires only and mechanically destroyed the two rear tires, my rear differential, the transfer case and the transmission. Per AAA employees instructions to keep all my receipts, including if l needed to rent a vehicle until my car was repaired. I borrowed a vehicle as to not pay out more money. The total repairs which I had to authorize came to $23571 .56. This cost does not include the reason the car originally broke down. AAA refuses to pay the full amount, and has directed me to AAA's subcontractor T&A Towing for the balance. I do not have a membership with T&A Towing, it is AAA sub-contractor. AAA is responsible. AAA has reimbursed me $17637.96. AAA owes me the balance of $5933.60. I have provided endless amount of data showing that I followed AAA employees instructions, and followed everything AAA instructed me to do. After I had paid and authorized the repair.

One star is absolutely too many. If you're looking for an insurance provider now DO NOT go with them. Their billing system doesn't pull their obscene insurance rates, then they tack on additional "fees" because they didn't pull the money. They are all frauds.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON AAA ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. I have membership and will not renew. My 4x4 truck broke down. Called AAA so far they have tried 4 towing companies over the past 5 hours and each one could not tow my truck. The only way u found out was when I called the companies directly. No contact from AAA about any of the companies that could not tow my truck.

I am soon to be a former member of AAA Auto Club. A few days ago, I received a letter from them stating that my membership would not be renewed at the end of this membership term due to a "disproportionate use of services". At the end of the letter was the tag line, with a phone number, to call with questions, which I did. The person who answered the call was informative until he got to the point of helping me personally by explaining what my disproportionate use entailed. I had used 1 out of 4, another person on the account had use 2 of 4 and the 3rd person on the account used 0 of 4. The unhelpful person on the phone explained that past years might have been taken into account in this determination but since the website only showed me this year's, I wouldn't know how many times we used them in the previous years of my membership. But here's the kicker, they won't tell you the reason they used to decide you would be chosen to have your account non-renewed!!! They made the decision that they weren't going to tell each member why they were being canceled!! I told Mr. Non-helpful they should have let off that line concerning calling with questions because they aren't going to answer questions anyway. I am disgusted with AAA... it's not like we abused the service but now it's all a secret about why I'm being randomly chosen for non-renewal. Evidently this is another of those companies that give you a false sense of security but, heaven forbid, if you actually use the service you are paying for, you will be penalized up to, and including, non-renewal of your membership.

AAA sells my personal information to "The Auto Club Group" but when you call and ask to OPT OUT from sharing your personal data the AAA departments (I was passed along to 4 different numbers) don't know how to OPT OUT and all agree that their website doesn't have any OPT OUT capability. So be prepared for unsolicited marketing snowstorms. Be very prepared. When you are up for renewal, you get a flyer from The Auto Group with a lot of small print and a form that you must mail in on your dime to Opt Out. It is the kind of form and process that is often overlooked. In short, their process have little concern for your data privacy. European laws are smarter in that they require you to manually OPT IN to have your data shared instead of making you mail in forms as The Auto Group requires.
