A very nice and clean Amtrak station. It is very clean inside, appears to be maintained well, is staffed, and has a historic locomotive on loan from Henry Ford Museum displayed inside. How can you not like that? Far better than the outdated Amtrak station in Detroit, which desperately needs upgrading. And nicer than the 'Amshack' station building that still is used in Ann Arbor.

Picking up passengers 'in motion' to ALL points of the Compass!! Just roll right up to dah yellow paint, to hear the faint updates from the conductor. You got to be close to the front, to hear the boarding details or wing it....Up to you! But one warning, he/she can be speaking from the middle. So keep your ears peeled. Some early dawn and clear skies view if you haven't traded in flights, for a bit of rail-side and sight-see in a while. You should! There are no added fees to your trip. Reasonable business to coach seating. Comfortable recline, complimentary Wi-Fi and taking in more than enough elbow room for reading! Plus relaxing and catching in on the seat-bunk banter whose eating a 'peanut butter'wich.' Happy to share their travels. Gotta love it!! But, headphones will help with that... You can stroll the cabin(s) as frequent as you want and not have to squeeze someone out of knee space! As you would experience during 'air travel' But eh bit of ponder; How is it the Cafe' Cart the quietest car on the rail? As when you stroll from 'car to car' that clanker, definitely have you looking down. Guess that's for another crosstalk. I loved trains since yay-high, always knew it'll take me places!! So I like to recommend 'you' climb aboard, from the Dearborn location! A very nice station. Enjoy the traks that takes you, from 'City-to-City!' With the convenience of someone else at the steer.....

We left on a field trip from here with a bunch of middle schoolers. We were not officially a group, but they took such good care of us! We were the first in the train to make sure we were all together. They were fantastic.

While my annual trip to Chicago took forever, I understand that Amtrak rents the track time and freight trains have priority, I get that. But being late into Chicago by three hours due to the other trains, and a malfunctioning signal is a PITA and I missed both of the following trains leaving Chicago to my final destination in Milwaukee. The Dearborn station is really nice looking and a great improvement, although I do miss parking right by the police station, where I really felt safe parking my car. I always remind coworkers and friends to take the train!

Confession. I love travel by train. That said, some of the platforms on the route are bare minimum. But not this one. The Dearborn station is a full service station. And cofortable if you need to wait. Manned ticket windows and an immaculate platform. Also, if heading west (towards Chicago), this is the first station/platform after the Detroit Railyards, which can add much time to your trip. I live by the Royal Oak platform and still come here to catch my trains.

My train was canceled 10 hours before my trip, and they provided busses to take the passengers to Chicago. I get motion sickness when I ride busses and now, I have no choice but on one to make it to my meetings in Chicago. This is my first-time using Amtrak and definitely will be the last one.

It was a little difficult finding current reviews of this station, but the 2019 ones are pretty accurate. The station is clean and pretty spacious. Staff was very nice. There are TVs up on the wall, while I was waiting for the train they had the news playing. In addition, there were train status monitors, and they announced the train arrival. The outdoor boarding area has a small covered waiting area with heat lamps in the ceiling, so if it's raining/snowing you will be crowded into that space or else out in the rain (if you are not inside the building). Very importantly, there is a lot of parking, in a nice parking lot, safe for leaving your car and safe for walking to your car at night, plenty of lighting. The station is located next to a hotel, and on the other side a Tim Horton's and some other things, so not too remote. Easy to access from the road. Also, it looks like a bus station too, so you have options.

I know not everyone is a fan of the train but I have a special place in my heart for the romantic railroad. This is a new location, a new station and it's a HUGE upgrade from the old one which was more along the lines of a beat up and isolated greyhound station than a station belonging to Amtrak. This station is like a single space version of the massive and ornate Washington D.C. location. When we walked into this place I was immediately impressed by the well appointed interior which is a mix of grey, dark beige and blue. You can tell a lot of time was spent to make this complimentary to the near by Henry Ford Museum which is referenced in the main auditorium. Being a fan of Henry Ford Museum and Amtrak I appreciated the nod. My relatives checked in and had no problem getting their special requests accommodated and I can't speak for all train schedules but theirs came on time. I don't recommend Amtrak for long trips but for a short ride to Chicago which is about 5 hours from Dearborn I do recommend parking the car and taking the train in as it will let you off right in downtown and you can stop in the huge station there and try out a few restaurants that we don't have in Michigan. I particularly recommend getting the hot links and rib tips the BBQ joint at Amtrak Chicago.
